PAX SILICAPAX SILICASCI-TECH8Pax Silica is more than just a story about a mineral. For too long, we have looked at our natural resources simply as things to take from the earth. But what if we looked at them differently? What if every resource became an opportunity to discover, invent, and create? The Philippines is abundant in natural resources, including the so called silica. Yet, having resources is different from knowing how to fully use it. While other countries across the globe invent raw materials into modernized products, the Philippines is still in the edge of challenges in strengthening it's own industries and technological capabilities. The problem is not simply the lack of resources. The bigger problem is the lost of potential and and lack of support. If we only extract and sell raw materials while importing High value finished products, we allow materials with greater value that may have come from a country with a high natural consistency of resources like our country. Silica is considered as a big contributor interms of technological advancement. It can be used in different ways, making it valuable in different sectors that rely on advanced materials. This shows that silica is not just part of the ground we stand, it can also be part of the vast world of science and innovation. The potential lies in the gaps we still need to overcome. Limited processing facilities, insufficient investment in research, lack of advanced technology, and the need for stronger cooperation among citizens, institutions, scientist, and the government.
