St. Peter of Alcantara R.C. Church 2 Catholic Ministries Appeal Parish Goal: $94,300 Pledges: 81,790; % of parish goal: 86.73% *If there are changes to your credit card, or checking account, or if you wish to discontinue your donations, please contact Susan at the rectory, 516-883-6675, stpetesecretary@gmail.com. Last Week’s Collection $11,862 Online Giving $525 *Automated Giving $1,036 Total $13,423 Dear parishioners and friends in Christ, Middle school students in the seventh grade will formally enter into the two-year Confirmation process this Sunday in what is referred to as the “Inscription Mass”. That is, they will sign their names to an agreement to faithfully participate in weekly Confirmation classes, faithfully attending Sunday Masses, and demonstrating growth in their Christian maturity. Parents are also encouraged to support these young people by their own faithful participation and good example in living out our Catholic Faith. Please keep these young people and their families in your prayers as they deepen their commitment to growing in their Catholic Faith. This Thursday, November 12th, the 2027 Mass Book will open to receive your scheduled intentions. Intentions may be requested for weekend and weekday Masses throughout the coming year. You may wish to remember a deceased loved one on a particular date. You may also remember a person who is living. Birthdays, anniversaries, and other significant dates are customary. The stipend, or offering, is $20 per Mass. See page three for further information. The Parish Party is only two weeks away, and I am pleased to report that the committee has prepared what promises to be an enjoyable evening of cocktails, dinner, dancing and raffles. Most of all, this annual event affords us an opportunity to renew our social connections with old friends and fellow parishioners. Please plan on joining us! Reservation forms should be returned as soon as possible this week. This week we remember all Veterans who have served in our Nation’s Armed Forces. We thank them for their service. We also pray on a weekly basis at every Sunday Mass for those who are currently serving, asking God to protect them and return them safely home to their families. As we are approaching the end of this calendar year, please consider a one-time gift to the 2026 Catholic Ministries Appeal if you have not already done so. I am very grateful to all who participate in this important Diocesan Appeal. Your financial support provides for many essential ministries and services for the people here on Long Island. We are at 87% toward reaching our goal. Upon reaching this goal, we will be eligible to receive a most welcomed rebate to our parish. Have a great week, and God bless you!
