The story starts with a young boy named Nicholas who lives in a small village of Pangasinan. He was taking a stroll on the beach until an injured sirena washed up off the shore. He hesitated whether to help her or not but chose to help her anyway despite him being taught to not interact with sirenas. “Excuse me, do you need help?” He asked. “Oh I'm alright! I just need a little help over here. Do you mind helping me get back up?” She replied as he took her hand and helped her up. “What’s your name? I’m Nicholas” Nicholas said and the sirena replied “my name is Lorelei.”illust drawn by : Reese

Over the following weeks, they kept meeting up and started to grow closer and eventually fell in love. In a flashback, Nicholas remembers a story his grandparents told him about sirens, they were said to be “dangerous” and “violent” in the stories. Nicholas mutters to himself “But Lorelei isn’t like that…” meanwhile with Lorelei, she learns from her siblings that love between humans and sirenas is forbidden and that it may lead to terrifying consequences

They arrange one final meeting with each other at the same place they met. They had originally planned to run away together. “Lorelei, I have something to confess..” Lorelei replies “ me too.. I love you Nicholas.” Nicholas gasped and nodded as he replied “I love you too, Lorelei!” He was about to lean in and hug her but was interrupted by a storm that started forming. Lorelei thought it was just a silly superstition…so now she has to choose between her love for Nicholas or his safety. In the end she chooses to save Nicholas by breaking their bond, as Nicholas slowly forgets about her as he gets knocked out unconscious. The storm ends with Nicholas waking up on a beach next to a shell with a note inside saying “Even if you forget about me, I’ll always remember you.”
