EDITORIAL It is a pleasure to bring you an edition that celebrates the spirit and potential of our youth. August reminds us of freedom, responsibility and the power of young voices. With “Agents of Change: Our Youth” as its theme, this edition celebrates a generation that dares to dream, question and speak up. Because sometimes, all it takes is one voice to begin a change. Across these pages, our writers reflect on the issues that matter to them, the dreams they carry and the questions they are willing to ask. From imagining a better India to challenging what needs questioning, each contribution offers a unique glimpse into the thoughts and perspectives shaping today’s youth. Madiha Dalwai highlights unity, courage and patriotism, reminding us that every small effort can contribute to a better India. Her words inspire young minds to take responsibility for the nation they wish to see. Shaikh Faiza connects the courage of young freedom fighters with today's youth movements. Her piece reminds us that raising our voices against injustice can be the first step towards meaningful change. Dia Pathare portrays youth as the voice of the present, encouraging them to question outdated norms and demand accountability. Her words celebrate those who choose courage over silence. Zara Khan presents the rising generation as a fresh force capable of solving long- standing problems. She reminds us that nurturing young minds today can create a stronger tomorrow. Zaitoon Tanwar takes a bold stand against corruption, control and silence. Her poem reminds us that speaking the truth, even when it is difficult, can itself become an act of change. Together, these poems, thoughts and reflections capture a generation that dares to dream, question and challenge, while exploring courage, justice, hope and responsibility. As you explore this edition, we invite you to pause, reflect and see the world through these young perspectives. After all, meaningful change begins not by waiting for the future, but by what we choose to do today. “Because the world doesn’t change when we wait for tomorrow; it changes when we choose to act today.” With warmth, Dia Pathare

No' I have heard it once I have heard it twice They do anything to keep me in sight They call this protection I call this control Cause freedom isn't choice its owned Lemme go there too Lemme me fight them too Who's gonna stand for genzs ? Anybody soon ? Everyone's blinded Everyone follows Truth gets buried While justice hollows Lathis are raised when we dare to speak. Corruption survives because silence is cheap Corruption grows each time we comply. Every quiet mouth helps justice die. Students march, their banners held high. Not asking for favors, just asking, "Why?" If speaking the truth makes us the enemy, then let history remember who stood for liberty. -Zaitoon tanwar (12th ARTS) CHANGE

With knowledge, with kindness, Without being violent, without being silent. We came together with smiles on our faces, To bring a change to the system's biases. Like embers bursting into flames, We ignite the spark of revolution's name. Like a phoenix rising beyond the horizon, We soar towards the light of a brighter dawn. Wanting our rights not to be violated Is not a demand it is a necessity. To bring a revolution, we stood together, Crossing no lines, only raising our voices for justice. We take an oath to serve our nation with pride. With knowledge, with kindness, Without being violent, without being silent. -Zobia Khan(SYBA) An Oath to Serve with Pride

Not just the future, they are the today. Our youth are agents of change Treading their path their own way Refusing to inherit a world without questioning it. Taking them for granted is now a myth. They ask uncomfortable questions and demand accountability; Breaking the silence & bringing their voices to the best utility. With courage, compassion, hope, and strength; They challenge old norms, Going to unimaginable lengths. They remind society that progress begins with those who dare to speak. No longer, shall one sustain who are shy and meek. Their presence is not measured by their age, But by the stories of courage that fill each page. -Dia Pathare (TYBA) Voice rise, change begins

We are the spark, we are the flame, Ready to rise and make a name. With dreams that soar beyond the sky, And courage strong, we aim high. We learn, we grow, we lead the way, Creating change with each new day. No fear can stop a determined heart, For every ending brings a start. The future shines where hope is found, In every voice, in every sound. For youth today holds the key, To shape tomorrow's destiny. -Aafiya Khan (FYBA) The Power of Youth

Whenever we talk about change, the f irst question that comes to mind is: who would bring that change, who would start it or lead it? The answer lies in the effort of young minds bringing change. We live in a motherland that has witnessed several incidents of change brought about by young people. History has proven itself again and again — youth-led movements make change happen. If we go back in time, when India was under British rule for nearly 190 years, bringing change wasn't easy at all, especially under colonial rule for so long. But voices of freedom f ighters rose again and again for independence. Young revolutionaries like Chandrashekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose, and many others were young people of that era who were not afraid to speak up and f ight for their rights. They brought change by leading movements and standing up against injustice. Because of them, we live in an independent India where everyone has fundamental and legal rights, and if those rights are violated, we can f ight to get justice for ourselves. In India, youth have driven monumental changes. Their protests have shaped the nation — toppling state governments in the 1970s, establishing environmental protections, securing LGBTQ+ rights, changing laws on sexual assault, and forcing top-level resignations over education and governance failures. Recently, Indian youth assembled at Jantar Mantar to protest the NEET paper leak, demanding the resignation of the education minister and improvements to the education system. Whether or not it was fully successful, it was at least a f irst step toward creating proper change. As young people of a country with such a beautiful history, seeing such protests gives us a glimpse of the past come alive in the present. As youth, we will continue to bring change, following in the footsteps of our freedom f ighters — whenever we face violations of our rights or injustice, we will speak up, lead movements, and bring about change. -Shaikh faiza (F Y BA) Whenever we talk about change, the f irst question that comes to mind is: who would bring that change, who would start it or lead it?
