REWARDS AND RECOGNITIONA GUIDE FOR STUDENTS, FAMILES AND STAFF

We have framed our rewards and recognitions around our RARE values Our Aims... To ensure we have listened to student voice during the planning and upkeep of the strategy. To use reward points to reinforce habits that will allow students to be successful in life. To make it as easy as possible for staff to keep the strategy fair, and running well. To help our students develop Respect, Ambition, Resilience and Empathy. To ensure ALL students have the opportunity to rewarded and have a fresh start each year. To show our students that we appreciate their hard work and commitment to doing well. Rewards and Values

The next few pages show you how students can earn points and how many points are awarded. We will communicate the running totals each half term so students can see the progress they are making towards being able to ‘Board the Bus’ on our annual Autumn term Rewards Trip. Students will also receive other rewards and recognitions throughout the year. The scheme relies on class teachers awarding points fairly and consistently and our procedures will help teachers to do this. Collecting RARE points Students earn and collect RARE points throughout the year Class Charts has the right buttons to help teachers award fairly

Headteacher’s Reward Breakfasts A most special invitation... Students are nominated to come to meet Mr Hill to celebrate their outstanding conduct. This is one of our highest honours, where Mr Hill sends a letter through the post, inviting students to meet with him and the nominating teacher(s). Students enjoy a breakfast snack whilst sharing the details of their nomination. The Student Council have recently asked this to take place during registration.

Board the Bus! Rewards Trip The students with the most RARE points at the end of the year will be offered a place on the bus to our chosen Reward Trip destination, taking place in Sept of the following year. Although there is a cost to students, we are able to secure off-peak schools-tickets which are considerable cheaper. The cost will also cover the coaches to and from the venue. Financial support may be offered for qualifying families, please enquire via your Progress and Pastoral Leader. The Rewards Trip is a fun opportunity for students to spend time with their classmates and teachers outside of the school setting, and during school hours! We ensure a whole day is devoted to the fun and enjoyment of these students to say thank you for their hard work and good conduct throughout the previous year.
