Senior Co Housing Details Project Type | Residential Size | 900 Square Feet Location | Lake Geneva, WI Semester | Fall 2024 Project Duration | 6 Weeks Technology Used | AutoCAD, Enscape, SketchUp, & Adobe InDesign In Studio 1, I was tasked with designing a senior cohousing communit y that promotes aging in place. Room Schedule A | Entr y B | Kitchen C | Living Room D | Bathroom E | Bedroom F | Patio Concept Statement This private unit design radiates a clean, contemporary style per the client’s request. The space is meant to encourage confidence and independence regardless of an individual’s physical abilities. Many materials will contrast with the light flooring to allow for easy differentiation between furniture and flooring to prevent falls. An open-concept approach will also be used throughout a majority of the space with the intent of keeping it easy to navigate. Pocket and sliding doors will be placed wherever possible, as they are the easiest door type for most individuals to operate. Large windows will provide ample sunlight and bring the outdoors inside as well. Lake Geneva, Wisconsin is full of blue waters that are serene in all seasons. Using its coastal features and natural color palette will create the same effect within the unit. Because Wisconsin can get chilly in the winter and older adults are often cold, incorporating a fireplace will aid in addressing both of these issues. Mood Board A B C D E F 12

Rounded lighting fixtures and reflective ceramic tile further reinforce the celestial theme, complementing observatory- inspired forms and sweeping glass walls that frame the desert night.
