project overview This project seeks to reinterpret traditional hospitality within a contemporary architectural framework, enhancing the quality of travel and pilgrimage experiences while fostering social interaction, cultural exchange, and economic development within the local community. AL-HIJAZ NEW PILGRIMS CITY
LOCATION The proposed site is located in Ma'an City, situated in southern Jordan. It lies along the historic Al-Hijaz Railway corridor, a key infrastructural and cultural axis that once connected the Levant with the Arabian Gulf. Ma'an's location at the crossroads of regional travel routes makes it a strategic and symbolic site for this project.
AL-HIJAZ NEW PILGRIMS CITY The concept originates from Jordan’s cultural heritage of generosity and hospitality, deeply embedded in the country’s social and historical fabric. Historically, Ma’an served as a vital stop for travelers journeying between the Arabian Gulf and the Levant. However, despite its strategic location, the city today remains marginalized and underutilized. THE NEED & VISION Reconnect the city with its historical and cultural roots. Reactivate the Al-Hijaz Railway as both a functional and symbolic element. Provide public spaces and services that benefit both residents and transient users. Contribute to balanced regional development and tourism along southern Jordan’s cultural corridor. PROJECT GOALS
CONCEPT PHILOSOPHY “Time Convergence” is not about stopping time, but about reconfiguring it. It is the act of bringing past, present, and future into a single spatial moment, where architecture becomes a temporal mediator rather than merely a functional container. Within this philosophy, time is not perceived as a linear progression, but as a layered fabric that can be folded, compressed, and intertwined. Architecture becomes an instrument of temporal condensation: it shortens distances between eras, reactivates memory, and allows history to coexist with contemporary life. The past is not replicated, but reinterpreted; the present is not detached from its roots, but emerges from them. نﺎﻃﻲ اﻟﺰﻣTime convergence

CONNECTING THE SITE WITH THE CITY The historical spine (AL-Hijaz Railway, Ma’an Museum & Alhussaini Mousque , throuh The traditional souq) will be connected by Citadis B battery powered tram. The total journy is goinig to take 14 min from AL-Hijaz station to Alhussaini Mousque. HISTORICAL SITES LINKAGE

ZONING & RELATOINSHIPS Environmental factors further shaped the organizational strategy. The massing configuration was deliberately arranged to mitigate the impact of prevailing dusty winds through protective built edges, while internal passages were oriented to facilitate natural ventilation and enhance airflow across the site. Courtyard typologies were incorporated to generate shaded microclimates, improving thermal comfort and reinforcing environmental responsiveness within the overall spatial framework. MIRAGE RESEARCH CENTER2 Design 6 Studio Project – Group Work Location: Aqaba , Jordan Year: 2025 Concept design & System integration Project Overview The Mirage Marine Research Center transforms the Aqaba coastline into a fluid architectural system, where form, circulation, and function align with the logic of marine movement. Its branching geometry creates a clear spatial progression from public interface to specialized research zones. The project stands out for its strong technical resolution and integration of environmental strategies, reflecting a well-developed and buildable design. While the form is bold and expressive, reinforcing its connection to research processes would deepen its conceptual impact. Overall, it is a confident and coherent proposal that successfully merges identity, performance, and site. 21
