OFFICIAL EXCUSE LETTERS Absence / Late Arrival Explanation LETTER FOR THE DEAN September 15, 2026 To the Program Director / Dean College of Education Dear Dean, I am writing to explain why I was late for my exam today. My name is Atasha Khim Ortiz, a student from BSED 2-C. I was not able to wake up early because I slept late last night. I had to wash our clothes at night because my mother is sick and could not do the laundry. After washing the clothes, I also reviewed my lessons for the exam. Because of these responsibilities, I slept late and accidentally overslept. I am very sorry for being late today. I will try my best to manage my time better and wake up early next time. I kindly ask for your understanding and permission to take a retake or special exam for my missed class. Thank you very much for your understanding and help. Sincerely, Atasha Khim Ortiz Student, BSED 2-C
LETTER FOR THE SUBJECT TEACHER September 15, 2026 Ma'am Grace Fajardo Instructor, College of Education Dear Ma'am Grace, I am writing to sincerely apologize for being late to our exam today. I was unable to wake up on time because I slept late last night. My mother is currently sick, so I had to do our family laundry late in the evening. After finishing the household chores, I stayed up to review my lessons for our examination, which caused me to sleep late and oversleep this morning. I am very sorry for missing the exam. I value your class very much and promise to manage my time better moving forward. If allowed by the Dean's office, I humbly ask if I may take a special exam at your most convenient time. Thank you very much for your patience and understanding. Respectfully yours, Atasha Khim Ortiz Student, BSED 2-C
