MODULAR EVACUATION CENTER 01. A disaster resilient evacuation center that employs modular architecture for rapid disaster response. The structure takes a circular form that provides good aerodynamic performance by allowing wind to flow smoothly around the structure reducing wind pressure and turbulence during strong storms. Its rounded geometry also distributes structural loads more evenly, minimizing stress concentrations and improving stability. Combined with the low-profile roof, the form creates a durable, wind-resistant, and structurally efficient evacuation center that enhances safety during extreme weather events. BATANG ZAMORA PARK The proposed children’s park aims to address this issue by providing a safe and spacious area where children can freely play and engage in physical activities such as badminton, dodgeball, and other outdoor games. This park will serve as a secure environment designed specifically for recreation, away from the dangers of passing vehicles and crowded streets. Location Year Type Padre Zamora, Baguio City 2025 Recreational X 6 02.

It is situated right beside the road where children usually play. Because the playground will be located right next to where the children already gather to play, they will no longer need to go to other areas, ensuring that the park will be actively used and well-integrated into their daily routines.badminton courtmural paintingsgarden wall and green fences1440 mm3650 mm11000 mm4980 mm10200 mmFLOOR PLAN In Barangay Padre Zamora, open spaces for children to play are becoming increasingly limited. With no designated playgrounds or recreational areas, many children resort to playing along the roads. Games like badminton and dodgeball, which require space and safety, are often played in the streets where vehicles frequently pass. This situation not only hinders children from enjoying physical activities freely but also exposes them to potential dangers such as accidents and collisions with motorists. The lack of proper play spaces highlights the urgent need to provide safe recreational areas where children can engage in outdoor activities without risking their safety. The proposed children’s playground will have a significant positive effect on the community of Barangay Padre Zamora. By providing a safe, accessible, and well-designed space for children to play, it encourages healthy physical activity and social interaction among the youth. The playground will also serve as a gathering place for families, promoting stronger community bonds and a sense of belonging among residents. Beyond recreation, it enhances the overall image and livability of the barangay, transforming an idle open space into a vibrant area that supports the well-being of both children and adults. 7

X KATHA SA TIKLOP Katha sa Tiklop is an entry to ARCASIA Students’ Design Competition 2025 with the theme Plug-in Architecture for a Better Tomorrow, in response to climate change and its effects to communities, exacerbating natural disasters and existing inequalities. These plug-in strucutres provide sustainable and resilient sturctures that can be integrated in diverse spaces and structures.Location Year Type NA 2025 Recreational 03. 8

Re-envisioning adaptable living through an origami-inspired design that allows structures to dynamically transform and reshape. This concept moves beyond mere modularity, offering a future where buildings actively respond to evolving needs, from temporary shelters to dynamic urban spaces, and can even be used in various configurations such as recreational areas, shading structures, pavilions, and roofs for events and outreach activities. All of this is achieved while utilizing sustainably sourced timber and innovative, high-performance plastics to achieve both structural integrity and aesthetic fluidity. FORM CONCEPT FORM VARIATION 9 The title "Katha sa Tiklop" was chosen to reflect the deeper philosophy behind the design, where architecture is not just about building structures, but about telling stories through form, space, and movement. “Katha” means to create or narrate, while “Tiklop” means fold, together symbolizing the act of creating meaning through folding. Inspired by origami, the design uses folding not only as an aesthetic and structural principle but as a metaphor for transformation, adaptability, and layered meaning. Each fold represents a design decision shaped by cultural context, environmental response, and functional needs. Like a story unfolding with every turn of the page, Katha sa Tiklop embodies an architectural narrative, where every crease, joint, and movement contributes to a purposeful whole. The title encapsulates the idea that in every fold lies a story waiting to be told.

11 CORDI SPLIT- LEVEL HOUSE Location Year Type Baguio City 2024 Residential 04. X The house blends traditional Cordilleran elements with Colonial American design elements, allowing it to remain rooted in the place where it is built while reflecting the colonial history of Baguio City. The form of the house follows the natural slope of the lot, allowing it to blend with the surrounding landscape rather than dominate it. The design incorporates Ibaloi construction elements through the use of vertically positioned wood planks for the exterior walls at the ground floor, complemented by traditional geometric patterns and Cordilleran textile elements. Meanwhile, the upper floor adopts an American Colonial construction technique, using horizontally positioned wood planks for the exterior walls. 10

FAARCH LOUNGE Location Year Type University of the Cordilleras 2024 Institutional 05. The University of the Cordilleras campus has limited space and cannot accommodate new buildings or expansions. As the student population grows, so does the need for spaces that support students’ academic and creative work. Every area in the campus is valuable. In response, the university has a challenge for architecture students to design an unused space into a shared lounge for Architecture and Fine Arts students, where the students can do their various tasks, including drafting, painting, group collaboration, and presentations.
