HISTORY OF: KINGDOM TRUTH UNIVERSITY Copyright 2020FEBRUARY 2, 2015 to PRESENT

Ralph Waldo Emerson quoted “Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” The founder of Kingdom Truth University (KTU), Dr. C. R. Smith-Mobley did that. She created a path for others to follow. Origin: In 2001, Dr. C. R. Smith-Mobley received a prophetic word that God wanted her to start a Christian school of higher learning. It was later confirmed again in 2003. In 2005, Dr. C. R. Smith-Mobley obeyed the prophetic word and began working on the curricula for the school. In 2007, Truth International University was incorporated and in 2008, it was launched with eight students. January 2015, Dr. C. R. Smith-Mobley had a conversation with her spiritual Overseer, at the time, about Truth International University. Her Overseer reported that she had a biblical certificate program at her church also. From this conversation birth the idea of a joint venture, where the students from the certificate program will matriculate with degrees through the university.

February 2, 2015, a formal meeting was held with eight people to form the foundation of the merge. After a lengthy discussion about the name of the new institution, it was agreed to name it “Kingdom Truth University”, where the focus will be on Kingdom truths. New appointments were made to the existing positions of the previous university. Dr. C. R. Smith-Mobley remained the President, Dr. Idell Strachan remained the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, and Dr. Clotilda Charles remained the Chairperson of the Board of Directors. February 2018 saw great success and progress, where Kingdom Truth University got the approval from the Department of Veterans’ Affairs for Veterans’ training. The approval allowed men and women, who served in the military, along with their families, to attend classes with tuition assistance. For the Fall semester that year, five veteran students were the first to be admitted after the approval.

In March that same year, a delegate of Kingdom Truth University’s Executives traveled to Turks & Caicos Islands to perform a series of training to assist the leaders at the newly established campus. Great progress was made in 2019 when a property was purchased, renovated, and other buildings built to house Kingdom Truth University in Jacksonville, Florida, which has become the main Campus. In 2020, there was a shift in the delivery of instruction from in person to online platform due to Covid 19 pandemic. Classes were held; however, graduation was postponed for that year. In 2021, the new Campus was officially opened to the public, where classes and activities began. Graduation was held after the postponement the year before; however, it was held on the last weekend of July, instead of the second weekend in May as was accustomed. In this graduation, KTU celebrated the graduation of the first set of Veterans who were admitted after the Department of Veteran’s Affairs approval. In 2022 & 2023, Kingdom Truth University broadened its horizon by playing golf for Founder’s week. It was an exciting way to raise funds and mingle with the community.
