EXECUTIVE SUMMARYEXECUTIVE SUMMARY This booklet was created to help members of our community prepare for the November 3 midterm election. It is not connected to or written in support of any political party, candidate, corporation, or political agenda. Its purpose is simple: to provide voters with clear, helpful information so they can make informed decisions at the ballot box. Across the country, many people feel frustrated with our democracy. Some feel that their voices are not being heard, that their concerns are not represented, or that their vote will not make a difference. We believe that every voter deserves to understand the issues, know what is on their ballot, and feel confident using their voice. That is what The Power Shift is about—putting power back where it belongs: with the people. Voting is one of the most direct ways we can influence the decisions that affect our families, neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, and communities. There are many ways to make your voice heard. We can speak up, organize, advocate, and peacefully protest when change is needed. But elections give us the opportunity to take that voice directly to the ballot box.MAKE THE PLEDGE TO VOTE BY SCANING HERE: 3 Your vote is your voice. Use it. The voter registration deadline is October 5, 2026, and Election Day is November 3, 2026. We encourage you to get informed, make a plan, and vote.

THE POWER SHIFTTHE POWER SHIFT Urban League affiliates across Northeast Ohio are coming together through The Power Shift to strengthen civic participation and help more people engage in the democratic process. Through community forums, public discussions, voter registration, and nonpartisan voter education, the campaign will help residents better understand the voting process, access reliable information, and feel confident using their voice. At its core, The Power Shift is about putting power back in the hands of the people. Our democracy works best when people participate. Voting, asking questions, attending meetings, and speaking up help ensure our communities are represented and our concerns are heard. That is especially important in communities that have historically faced greater barriers to voting and civic participation. Whether you care about the cost of living, education, housing, jobs, public safety, healthcare, or other issues affecting your community, your participation matters. Your voice matters. Your participation matters. Your vote matters.MAKE THE PLEDGE TO VOTE BY SCANING HERE: And civic engagement does not stop at the ballot box. You can advocate, organize, contact elected officials, attend public meetings, volunteer, or even consider running for office. 4

PURPOSE: RATHER THAN GIVING A PREDICTION FOR THE NEXT ELECITON, THE COOK PVI PULLS ON ELECTION DATA TO GIVE A MORE LONG TERM OVERVIEW OF THE DISTRICTS PARTISAN LEAN. EXAMPLE: IF THE INDEX SHOWS A SCORE OF D+2 THEN DEMOCRATS PERFORMED 2%, OR TWO POINTS, BETTER THAN THEIR NATIONAL AVERAGE.KEY TERM - COOK PVIKEY TERM - COOK PVI COOK PVI INDEX: PVI stands for Partisan Voting Index. It is a rating created by the Cook Political Report that shows whether a state or congressional district tends to vote more Republican or more Democratic compared to the country as a whole. The rating is based on results from recent presidential elections. (The Cook Political report - Partisan voting index with Amy Walter - https://www.cookpolitical.com/cook-pvi) 5

AKRON URBAN LEAGUE The Akron Urban League has served the Akron and Summit County community for more than 100 years. Through education, workforce development, entrepreneurship, advocacy, and other programs, the organization works to create opportunities and strengthen the community. In recent years, its impact has included significant scholarship support for students and funding for local small businesses. The Akron Urban League serves communities within and around Ohio’s 13th Congressional District, making voter education and civic engagement an important part of its work. In the 2024 election, 386,390 votes were cast in the District 13 congressional race. While many residents participated, there are still thousands of people whose voices could be added to the democratic process. That is where The Power Shift comes in. Ohio’s 13th Congressional District has changed several times because of redistricting—the process of redrawing congressional district boundaries. Over the years, communities have been moved in and out of the district, changing both its shape and the people represented by it. Today, the district includes Akron and surrounding communities and is represented in Congress by U.S. Representative Emilia Sykes. The Power Shift is about helping more people understand their district, know who represents them, and participate in the decisions that affect their communities. 6

The redistricting absorbs more of Canton, and packs the district even more. DISTRICT 13 Ohio’s 13th Congressional District includes Akron and many surrounding communities. Under the new congressional map being used for the 2026 election, the district includes all of Summit County, along with parts of Portage and Stark counties, including much of the Canton area. Politically, District 13 is one of Ohio’s more competitive congressional districts. Its Cook PVI rating is EVEN, meaning the district does not strongly lean Republican or Democratic compared to the country as a whole. Congressional district boundaries can change through a process called redistricting. These changes can sometimes leave voters unsure about which district they live in or who will appear on their ballot. Although Ohio’s new congressional districts are labeled 2027 districts, voters will use the new boundaries in the 2026 election. Because your district may have changed, check your congressional district and voter registration before Election Day. Old Map New Map 7

GREATER WARREN- YOUNGSTOWN URBAN LEAGUEUrban League Greater Warren-Youngstown The Greater Warren-Youngstown Urban League is celebrating 95 years of service to the community this October. Its work includes operating the Christy House Emergency Shelter, which provides food, shelter, and support to people experiencing homelessness. Nearly half of the clients served have moved into permanent housing. The Urban League serves communities in Ohio’s 6th and 14th Congressional Districts, including parts of the Greater Youngstown and Warren area. In 2024, both districts saw lower voter participation than the national average, showing an opportunity to get more residents informed, registered, and involved through The Power Shift. Northeast Ohio’s congressional boundaries have changed several times through redistricting. Districts 6 and 14 have also consistently elected Republican representatives in recent years. With district lines changing again, The Power Shift encourages voters throughout the Warren-Youngstown area to check their district, know who is on their ballot, and make their voices heard. 10

DISTRICT 14It isn’t terribly partisan, and has a Cook PVI index of R+9 District 14 stretches from the Willoughby area to Ohio’s eastern border and includes communities such as Warren and Ashtabula. Under the new congressional map, the district will also include a larger portion of Youngstown. Although District 14 changes less than some other districts, the new boundaries will divide Youngstown between multiple congressional districts. This means residents within the same city may be represented by different members of Congress. Because these changes can affect which district voters live in and who appears on their ballot, residents—especially those in the Youngstown area—should double- check their congressional district and voter registration before Election Day. She is running a campaign that emphasizes independence from strict party loyalty and focuses on issues she says are important in the current political environment. Her policy priorities center on economic and social concerns that she says are affecting working-class families and communities. DISTRICT 14 Supports stronger oversight of ICE and changes to current immigration enforcement practices. Supports a framework to address AI-related job loss and protect American workers as AI continues to grow. Supports stronger rules to limit AI- generated misinformation. Supports strengthening Social Security to protect its long-term future. Supports a bipartisan plan to help keep Social Security financially stable for the future. MAIN POLICY GOALS: 13

DISTRICT 6 The District stretches from Marietta along the border to Youngstown. The new congressional map changes how several Northeast Ohio communities are divided. Canton will move into District 13, while parts of Wooster will be split between Districts 6 and 7, and parts of Youngstown will be divided between Districts 6 and 14. District 6 covers much of Ohio’s eastern border and is largely rural. Its Cook PVI rating is R+16, meaning it tends to vote more Republican than the country as a whole. These changes will also affect how communities are represented. Canton voters will become part of District 13, while voters in Youngstown and Wooster will be divided between multiple congressional districts. Because district boundaries are changing, voters should double- check which district they live in and who will appear on their ballot. Old Map New Map 14

His policy priorities include limiting DEI programs and supporting legislation related to sex and gender. He has co- sponsored legislation addressing participation in school sports, federal definitions of “male” and “female,” and access to gender-transition-related hormone treatments. DISTRICT 6 15

E L I Z A B E T H K I R T L E Y E L I Z A B E T H K I R T L E YMs. Kirtley’s campaign emphasizes constitutional rights and civil liberties, particularly in areas where she believes federal authority has expanded too far. Her priorities include protecting election integrity, bodily autonomy, and access to accurate and reliable information. She has also raised concerns about ICE and its enforcement practices, particularly their impact on the rights to protest, assemble, and speak freely. She supports greater oversight of the agency and changes to how those enforcement powers are used. DISTRICT 6 Supports reforming and regulating ICE. Supports free and fair elections and opposes federal voting policies she believes could create barriers or discourage voter participation. Supports fact-based, trustworthy news organizations and stronger protections for a free and independent press. Supports making Roe v. Wade protections part of federal law and protecting women’s reproductive rights and bodily autonomy. Emphasizes protecting constitutional rights and civil liberties, particularly in areas where she believes federal actions have gone too far. MAIN POLICY GOALS: 16

THE LORAIN COUNTY URBAN LEAGUE The Lorain County Urban League has served Lorain County for more than 48 years, working to help individuals and families access opportunities, build stability, and strengthen their connection to the community. Its work includes youth and education programs, career and workforce support, homeownership and housing education, civic engagement, and partnerships with local organizations that connect residents to resources and services. The Urban League serves communities that fall within Ohio’s 5th and 9th Congressional Districts. In 2024, both districts saw opportunities for greater voter participation. Through The Power Shift, the goal is to help more Lorain County residents become informed, registered, and involved in the democratic process. Lorain County is primarily represented within District 5, which has changed shape over time through redistricting. The district has historically leaned Republican and now includes more communities stretching from western Ohio toward Lorain County. The new boundaries also divide some urban communities among different congressional districts. These changes can affect who represents voters and who appears on their ballot, making it especially important for residents to check their congressional district and voter registration before Election Day. 17

DISTRICT 5District 5 stretches from Lorain County west across much of north- central Ohio. Bob Latta has represented the district since 2011, and its Cook PVI rating is R+12, meaning the district tends to vote more Republican than the country as a whole. The newly drawn District 5 boundaries, which will be used for the 2026 election, include part of Mansfield and communities across north-central Ohio, while also changing how parts of Northwest Ohio are divided among congressional districts. These changes are important because they reshape which communities vote together in the same congressional district. The new map divides parts of the Toledo area between Districts 5 and 9, which could change the political makeup and representation of both districts. Because district lines have changed, voters should check their congressional district before the 2026 election to make sure they know which candidates will appear on their ballot.18Old Map New Map

He wants to regulate term limits, campaign finance, position profiteering, and enforced stronger checks and balances. Strengthening agricultural investment, and lessening the federally imposed costs on farmers are two of his goals. Pro-union and wants to see increased collective bargaining A part of his message is true civil servitude towards constituents public servants should be barred from insider trading, or other illegal schemes. Is pro 2nd amendment, but wants common sense reforms based around obtaining firearms. He wants to stop, or otherwise deeply regulate, American land sales to foreign investors

IT HAS A COOK PVI SCORE OF R+5DISTRICT 9 District 9 mainly is Toledo, and historically has included blue areas of Sandusky, and a lot of lakefront territory. It is being redistricted to crack its blue votes by ceding parts of Toledo to district 5 in exchange for more red farmland.21 The partisan redistricting will likely end up hurting district 9 the most. It is a historically blue district, packing in the blue votes from the lakefront cities since close to 1983. Ohio’s redistricting will cut up toledo’s votes, and stuff rural land into the district which deserves it’s own attention, rather than to be used as packing peanuts for Derrik merrin’s Congressional run.Old Map New Map

THE URBAN LEAGUE OF GREATER CLEVELANDUrban League of Greater Cleveland24 The Urban League of Greater Cleveland services the greater Cleveland area through a variety of programs and resources. Programs like UBIZ provides a small business lending programs which provides minority small business owners with pre-loan education and preparation. They also have a coaching, training, and referral process for the workforce development services they provide. This affiliate is connected closely to district 11, likely the only safe blue district in the state. Also within the greater Cleveland area is the newly redistricted district 7. It has slowly moved its way up the state, and now pretty bizzarely cracked many votes from the greater Cleveland area with more rural areas around Wooster. It changes once again after this election cycle to include less urban areas.

DISTRICT 11 District 11 is a 100% Urban district which includes Lakewood, Downtown Cleveland, and much of the East side. This is one of two districts which isn’t changing, as it already successfully packs votes. As a result of gerrymandering it is one of only a handful of truly blue districts in the state, and has the highest Cook PVI score in the state with D+28.25 District 11 is a staunchly blue district, and is the result of gerrymandered attempts to pack blue votes into as few districts as possible. While this does mean that the state’s blue votes are diluted, it also means that this district has the highest cook pvi rating in favor of the democrats in state, +28.

DISTRICT 11S H O N T E L B R O W N S H O N T E L B R O W N Being the only truely safe blue seat in ohio means she has a frankness about her progressive policies that no other democrat really does. She is an extremely active member of congress, both verbally and legislatively. His campaign page has four video essays that show his experience in financial planning and social security, Being a 1 issue candidate puts him in a hole. His campaign is understanding of his position as a republican running in a D+28 district, and pushes himself as a person and his professional expertise, rather than GOP loyalty Main Policy Goals: He wants politicians to promote more personal & financial responsibility Wants politicians to show more compassion and political transparency He asserts that he wants to use his accounting history to locate and explicitly outline waste for voters He outlines that social security will end by 2034, more likely by 2031, with an optimistic 20% decrease in payments to costituents yearly He firmly believes that the OAS (Old Age and survivor) trust will be empty by the year 2031, and that voters should prepare accordingly He wants to promote frugal spending practices, and reorganizing retirement planning towards more 401ks He thinks social security will only pay out every other month as funds dwindle27

DISTRICT 7 District 7 is the result of a gerrymander intended to dilute the votes of Cuyahoga County. The redistricting absorbs Ashland, and splits Wooster with district 6.IT HAS A COOK PVI OF ONLY R+528Old Map New Map District 7 is a real toss up district, with about half of it being areas of the greater Cleveland area, and the rest being rural land stretching past Wooster. It absorbs areas which would otherwise be a part of district 11, including many urban votes, and cracks them into a much larger district.

GREATER STARK COUNTY URBAN LEAGUEGreater Stark CountyUrban League31 The Greater Stark County Urban League has five pillars it builds its service around. They tote their dedication to workforce development, education, housing, health, and social justice. They empower their community through services, and programs dedicated to these pillars. Projects like Launchpoint help connect members with career resrouces, and to start a meaningful career. Some programs aimed at aiding the community include reentry and expungement programs, their 15 day unity challenge, encouraging census participation through education, and empowering their community to get out there and vote. The Greater Stark County Urban League is located around Canton, and services communities within districts 13 and 6. That means it is pretty purple, as district 6 has been pretty consistently red for over a decade, and district 13 has been pretty consistnetly blue for longer.

DISTRICT 6IT STRETCHES FROM MARIETTA ALONG THE BORDER TO YOUNGSTOWN.32Old Map New Map The new congressional map changes how several Northeast Ohio communities are divided. Canton will move into District 13, while parts of Wooster will be split between Districts 6 and 7, and parts of Youngstown will be divided between Districts 6 and 14. Sherrod Brown has to prove that he is a worthy working class representative once again, even after voters previously voted him out of office for perceived shortcomings. He has, among establishment democrats, some of the best name recognition in the state after serving such a long tenure previously. SENATE RACE This year we have a particularly strange senate race between an unelected incumbent, and a previously long standing senator for ohio. The two canidates sport massively different styles, and will face unique challenges going into the election. Jon Husted has to buck, not only the incumbency disadvantage this midterm, but also the fact that he was never elected to the senate. He was instead appointed, and is now running to finish out the rest of vance’s term39

POLITICAL HISTORYVoted against ceasing hostilities in Iran, opting instead to continue the war without congressional authorization. This also extends to conflicts in Lebanon and the surrounding area which he voted against ceasing in favor of extended conflict. Voted for the first bipartisan housing bill America has seen get passed into law in a while, which passed 85-5. Voted against a bill proposing congressional disapproval of arms sale to Israel during every peak of their conflict Voted for, and supports, Donald Trump’s save america act. This act would put national restrictions on voting, making it more difficult to vote then within the most restrictive states in the union. Voted for provisions in a bill which fundamentally narrows the national applications for hemp, effectively eliminating all national hemp sales, and keeping thc strictly to certain state operations.40

Jon Husted - He got his begginings as a member of the ohio house’s 41 district from 2001-2009. He was then elected to the ohio senate’s 6 district from 2009-2011. He was the 50th secretary of state & the 66 LT GOvenor in ohio, to dewine’s governor. When JD vance was sent to the whitehouse, dewine appointed Husted to replace him, and this election will finally put his seat to a vote. st th thPERSONAL HISTORY41 If you want a Republican appointee for senate, Husted is your guy. His main policy objective is to eliminate earning cliffs, and allow for people’s earning potential to go up. Essentially he does not want people to be penalized for earning more, or being promoted, when they rely on social programs to meet their bottom line. Even so, this does not mean expanding access to social programs for Husted, instead he has tended to favor more conservative fiscal policy. Overall he will be a good MAGA candidate, and will vote in line with them on most issues, while having an idea specifically for Ohio.

POLITICAL HISTORYVoted to terminate the use of the USAF to help in joint logistics the Gaza strip Voted for the respect for marriage act, which enshrined and protected the legality of gay and interracial marriages nationally. Supported, pushed for, and voted for the largest and most comprehensive bipartisan infrastructure package in recent memory. Voted to ensure constituents were paid their social security checks Voted to protect access to contraceptives for those using them, increase education about them, and to facilitate the healthy practice of their use. Voted to protect, enshrine, and expand nationwide access to fertility treatment (including invitro fertilization)42

PERSONAL HISTORYSherrod Brown - Is an experienced legislator with decades of legislating from ohio and washington. He started his career as a member of the ohio house’s 61 district where he served from 1975- 1983. Sherrod then became the 46 secretary of state for ohio, serving from 1983-1991. He was elected to Ohio’s 13 congressional house district from 1993 to 2007, and served as one of Ohio’s congressional senators from 2007 to 2025. st th th43 He has hosted conferences on the issues, connected with students and constituents in small groups, and in the past has built his policy to be reflective of these constituent meetings. Whether or not he has been effective in the past, he has been reflective of his constituents’ asks. In a time when institutional trust is so low, voters have a choice between two establishment options… Sherrod Brown is a wonderful example of an establishment democrat who tries to connect with their base. He is not radical, or a populist, or a democratic socialist, but has pushed avidly for worker’s rights in the past.

‘ELLO GOVNA our gubanatorial, or govenor’s, race has seen dead even polling throughout. On the right Vivek Ramaswamy is a businessman, not an experienced civil servant, and has a 3 Billion dollar net worth. On the blue side of the aisle amy acton is a doctor, and a former DIRECTOR of the ohio depArtment of health during the COVID response, not a politician. While they both have specialities, and professional skills, neither are particularly geared towards public servitude.44 Our Govenor’s race is another example of a race to the bottom, between two vastly unpopular people. Vivek’s policies in support of data centers, unregulated drilling, and the death penalty are about as popular as the Steelers are in cleveland. On the other hand Dr Acton handled the vastly unpopular covid response, a crisis which impacts americans to this day. At the end of the day this means you have to look at their policy, not their party or personality. Each candidate will bring their specialties to the position, and it is up to you, the American voter, to decide who is less likely to destroy the state.

Her campaign is geared towards policy, and shows that she has some experience administrating. She sees problems throughout our state, and provides a ton of actual policy solutions on her site that could help Ohio with a path forward. She is running on affordability for Ohio. It shows that she has engaged with our state’s problems, and is putting some real elbow grease into her solutions. She has given less time to social media, ad campaigns, or trying to smear her opponent, instead favoring time spent crafting lengthy policies listed on her websites. Her paths forward give a concerted effort towards affordability, and stabs at making connections with Ohio’s voters and their concerns. She seems to not only be running on genuine civil servitude, but on real policy objectives she sees as viable paths forward.45 Dr Amy Acton is a physician, researcher, and medical administrator from Youngstown Ohio. She was the Director of the Ohio department of health from 2019-2020, where she handled Ohio’s COVID-19 response. Before and after her stint directing the state through the pandemic, with varying levels of acceptance, she worked at the Columbus Foundation. The long and short of her time directing the COVID-19 response is actually quite simple. She leaned cautious, and DeWine instituted strict restrictions for public safety with widely varying public responses.

She proposes addressing poverty, undereducation, and unemployment as the root causes of crime. While increasing transparency between police and their communities to lessen the effects of gun violence throughout the state. As governor she wants free access to reproductive rights, ranging from contraceptives, to fertility treatments, to miscarriage care, to ensuring bodily autonomy for women.46 She wants to support small business growth, figure out the best way to decrease unemployment, and facilitate access to more skills training programs throughout the state. Amy has stated pretty directly that she will fight the billionaires for a better Ohio.

STATEMENTS LIKE “CRUSH CRIME” AND “LAW & ORDER” DETAIL HIS POLICY ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE: HE IS THE LAW & ORDER CANDIDATE, AND WILL BACK THE BLUE WITHOUT QUESTION. HE IS NOT INTERESTED IN “SOLVING” CRIME AS MUCH AS HE IS INTERESTED IN PUNISHING IT. VIVEK HAS A HUGE ONLINE PRESENCE, AND PLAYS INTO TRENDS ONLINE TO BOOST HIS POPULARITY. HE IS VERY GOOD AT TAPPING INTO THIS SPACE, AND HAS LEANED INTO A HUGE SMEAR CAMPAIGN AGAINST ACTON. VIVEK HAS BEEN OUT OF STATE CONSISTENTLY DURING THIS CAMPAIGN, SO FACILITATING THAT ONLINE PRESENCE IS CRUCIAL.47 BILLS ALLOWING POLICE TO ID EVERYONE IN THE CAR AT TRAFFIC STOPS, USE DRONES IN PLACE OF OFFICERS, AND NEW HALO LAWS MAKING IT ILLEGAL TO STAND WITHIN 15FT OF AN OFFICER HIGHLIGHT THE DIRECTION VIVEK WILL TAKE OHIO’S POLICE FORCE. THEY WILL BE ABLE TO EFFECTIVELY DO AS THEY PLEASE. HE BOTH WANTS EXPANSIVE NEW WORKS, AND HE WOULD LIKE TO CUT TAXES, RED TAPE, AND IMPROVE OHIO’S SCHOOLS. THE ISSUE WITH PROVIDING FREE ELECTRICITY, AND PAYING TEACHERS MORE, IS THAT YOU WILL NEED MONEY TO DO SO. VIVEK HAS BOLD AND CREATIVE NEW IDEAS, BUT I FEAR HE LACKS THE PRACTICAL KNOWHOW TO MAKE IT HAPPEN.

He wants to expand natural gas, as well as removing regulations so more energy projects can be quickly built. He wants to attract industries who will provide cheap energy to fuel bold ideas of his, like free electricity around data centers, without much of a financial analysis of how these industries will make electricity “free” for the first time. He does this to contrast his more unpopular stances like supporting installing new data centers across the state. He offers bold and innovative ideas, as his time as a CEO surely instilled, but seems ill prepared for the practicality of policy. While he offers personal policy objectives, and sometimes they reflect constituent desires, they are often more consistent with Washington’s current agenda than they are respectful of the needs of those living in Ohio.48 Vivek Ramaswamy is a business man who founded and ran a biotech pharmaceutical company from 2014-2021. From his time investing and being CEO he obtained a 3 Billion dollar net worth. He began his political history in 2020, when he endorsed Trump for the presidency. He ran against Trump in 2024, but after a brutal primary where he came in 6 overall he was only able to get 0.44% of the primary vote, and endorsed Trump for the presidency to gain favor. This favor has lasted even now, as both Trump and the GOP have endorsed him for the Governor’s mansion. His policies range from making Ohio the USA’s leader in AI data centers, to more firmly enforcing law and order. He is so firmly entrenched in law and order that he contrasts DeWine’s stance on the death penalty, Vivek instead supports the use of the death penalty in our prisons, and wants harsh criminal penalties. th

ATTORNEY GENERAL49 DAVID YOST SERVED AS OHIO’S ATTORNEY GENERAL FROM 2019-2026. UPON HIS RESIGNATION THE POSITION WAS FILLED BY MIKE DEWINE, WHO SELECTED ANDY WILSON TO SERVE IN THE INTERIM. THIS ELECTION WILL FILL THE POSITION WITH A NEWLY ELECTED OFFICIAL. THE ATTORNEY GENERAL SERVES AS A STATES CHIEF LEGAL OFFICER, AND IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ENFORCING THE STATE’S LAWS. THE AG REPRESENTS BOTH THE GOVERNMENT, ITS AGENCIES, AND THE PUBLIC DEPENDING ON THE CIRCUMSTANCE. THEY HAVE THE BROAD AUTHORITY TO ENFORCE THE LAW AND HAVE MANY TOOLS FOR ENFORCEMENT, EDUCATION, AND ADVOCACY. THEIR INFLUENCE CAN RANGE GREATLY IN THIS KIND OF POSITION. THEY SUPPORT THE LAW ENFORCEMENT INVESTIGATIONS WHICH REQUIRE THE MORE TECHNICAL SKILLS OR EQUIPMENT. THEY ARE LIKEWISE SUPPOSED TO KEEP A WELL REGULATED AND PROTECTED CONSUMER MARKET. AMONG MANY OF THEIR AREAS OF INFLUENCE IS ENFORCING AND SUPPORTING THE CIVIL RIGHTS OF AMERICAN CITIZENS. SPECIFICALLY THE AG PROSECUTES DISCRIMINATION CASES ON BEHALF OF THE OHIO CIVIL RIGHTS COMMISSION.

HOPES TO WORK ALONGSIDE PRESIDENT TRUMP TO STOP UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRATION INTO OHIO. HE AGREES AND SUPPORTS BOTH THE DEPORTATION EFFORTS AND TARGETING CARTEL ACTIVITY WITHIN THE STATE. HIS GOALS WILL BETTER HELP THE PRESIDENT ENFORCE THIS AGENDA. KEITH FABER HE IS A LAW AND ORDER CANDIDATE, AND A PART OF HIS POLICY APPEAL IS AN EFFORT TO STOP HUMAN TRAFFICKING BY WORKING WITH VARIOUS FAITH GROUPS, NON PROFITS, AND LAW ENFORCEMENT IN AN EFFORT TO HALT THESE TRAFFICKING CHAINS. HE HAS LED THE AUDITORS TEAM TO 129 CRIMINAL CONVICTIONS RANGING FROM A CORRUPT SHERIFF TO A COUNTY OFFICIAL GUILTY OF ALMOST 2 MILLION IN THEFT.50 FABER IS YOUR MAGA CANIDATE, AND WILL DO AS THE PARTY AND PRESIDENT GUIDE, VERY LIKELY TO A FAULT.

KEITH FABER51 Faber is the current Auditor of state, and has a successful private law practice. As Auditor he dealt with just under $7 billion in fraud. His Auditor’s team issued 284 findings for recovery, which occur when public funds have been misused. He also got 165 convictions on 376 different criminal charges against corrupt public officials. He is a public servant that wants to see our constitution defended, and our system kept fair. He will continue his work combatting human trafficking in Ohio as AG. Going forward it seems his aims have gone from waste fraud and abuse, to tackling illegal immigration alongside Trump’s naitonal entities. Generally, since 2019, when you hear about unemployment, or medicaid, fraud in the state of Ohio is was Keith’s job to root it out. He has a ton of experience working in Ohio’s executive branch, having been a part of DeWine’s line of succession. As state auditor he tackled the practical issues which have been nationally addressed impractically. This shift means that he will go from financial enforcement, to chief law enforcement officer for the state. Being the MAGA candidate means his policies will revolve around these issues which are nationally blown out of proportion, mislabelled, or otherwise used to stir up discontent. He could be an effective Attorney General, as he was an Auditor, but his loyalties expose him, and Ohio, to a central role in national drama.

JOHN J. KULEWICZHe currently sits on the city council in Upper Arlington, and during his election effort visited every single one of Ohio’s 88 counties. He is literally on tour in an effort to connect with the people of the state. His emphasis is on the fact that he is a lawyer, not a politician, and with his record that means he has the skills to do the job, and the lack of partisanship to bias his work. He is an independent running under the blue banner, with a loyalty to voters, not party. His agenda is towards public service, with a primary goal of taking national politics out of Ohio, He wants a fair legal process without Washington’s thumb on the scale.52 If you want a candidate without party bias, with tons of legal experience, and the practical knowhow to get the job done in a fair way, John J Kulewicz is a phenomenal option for voters. He has a storied history as a lawyer, and has won cases in the Supreme Court of the US, Ohio, and in federal and state courts around Ohio. He is the only candidate I’ve heard of in the whole state who has gone to every single county in an effort to understand the people he hopes to serve. He not only talks the civil servant talk, he walks the civil servant walk. Experience within a party can help with this, but right now it may actually make it harder. The closer a candidate is to a party, the less and less they are viewed as a trustworthy or unbiased civil servant.

JOHN J. KULEWICZ HE SUCCESSFULLY ARGUED CASES ACROSS OHIO, ALL THE WAY UP TO THE SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES HIS MAIN CONCERN IS TAKING NATIONAL POLITICS OUT OF OHIO ALTOGETHER. HE SEES OHIO’S PROBLEMS IN ITS MONOPOLIES, WASTE, FRAUD, ABUSE, PRICE GAUGING, AND SCAMS OF ALL TYPES. GIVEN THE ISSUES WE HAVE SEEN ARISE FROM CORPORATIONS, IT SEEMS THAT HE IS MOSTLY CONCERNED WITH TOP DOWN ABUSE BY THESE COMPANIES. HE HAS BEEN ENDORSED BY A VARIETY OF WORKERS GROUPS AND UNIONS FROM ACROSS THE STATE INCLUDING NURSES FOR AMERICA, OHIO FEDERATION OF TEACHERS, AND THE PLANNED PARENTHOOD ADVOCATES OF OHIO.53 “I FOUND THE SAME THING EVERYWHERE: OHIOANS ARE WORKING HARD, BUT NO ONE LISTENS TO THEM ANYMORE.“

54AUDITOR OF STATE THE STATE AUDITOR IS IN CHARGE OF FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY AND ACTS AS A WATCHDOG FOR ILLICIT ACTIVITY WITHIN THE STATES FINANCIALS. THEY MONITOR STATE SPENDING, TAXES, AND LEGAL COMPLIANCE FOR DISCREPANCIES OR AREAS WHCIH COULD BE OPTIMIZED. THEY ARE THE PEOPLE WHO SPECILAIZE IN LIMITING WASTE, FRAUD, AND ABUSE IN OUR STATE’S FINANCIALS. THE STATE AUDITOR’S OFFICE PROVIDES SERVICES TO LOCAL GOVERNMENTS AND COMMUNITIES THAT NEED THEM. LGS (LOCAL GOVERNMENT SERVICES) SERVES AS A CONSULTING AND FISCAL ADVISORY GROUP TO ALL GOVERNMENT AGENCIES AND DIVISIONS IN THE STATE. AS FAR AS THE GOVERNMENT IS CONCERNED IT IS IMPORTANT TO ELIMINATE AS MUCH WASTE OR FRAUD AS POSSIBLE. THIS STARTS BY KEEPING CLEAN GOVERNMENTAL BOOKS. THINK OF AUDITOR LIKE THE PERSONIFICATION OF THE STATE’S OWN MINI IRS. THEY AUDIT AND DISCOURAGE FRAUD, PROVIDE RESOURCES TO AVOID FRAUD, AND INVESTIGATE FRAUD WHEN IT DOES OCCUR. WHILE POLITICS COULD PLAY INTO WHOM GETS AUDITED, IT IS OTHERWISE A POSITION WITH MORE FOCUS ON THE JOB THAN ON WASHINGTON’S POLITICS.

FRANK LAROSE55 HE IS THE ONLY CAMPAIGNING SECRETARY OF STATE ENDORSED BY PRESIDENT TRUMP. Frank LaRose is coming off of a run as secretary of state wherein he served as Ohio’s secretary for official state records, facilitated business registration, and was Ohio’s chief election official. In this role he helped make Ohio’s voting system the most restrictive and “safest” in the nation. By requiring a photo id to vote, he made Ohio the blueprint for the house passed SAVE act. Having been deeply intertwined with Trump’s national policies within Ohio, he has supported the MAGA agenda effectively. His investigation did root out voter fraud, but none that was significant to the election. This should otherwise eliminate election fraud concerns, however the GOP continues keeping it paramount. We released a policy drop a few weeks ago which addressed the changes to voter registration and voting requirements. Ultimately LaRose has been at the center of election policy since 2018. If you’re a fan of deeper requirements to vote, then you will love his policies. He has been consistently supportive of the MAGA policies surrounding voter deregistration, photo ID, and mostly ensuring that only American citizens vote. These policies have faced backlash for fearmongering and being broadly uneeded. HE DEPLOYED TO THE SOUTHERN BORDER, TO KOSOVO, IRAQ, AND WAS A NATIONAL GUARD LATE IN HIS CAREER BEFORE EARNING A GREEN BERET HIS WEBSITE FEATURES HIS STORIED HISTORY AS A SERVICEMEMBER OF THE US MILITARY. IT FEATURES HIS PERSONAL INSPIRATIONS FOR THE OFFICE, BUT LACKS MUCH OF HIS INSIGHTS TOWARDS THE OFFICE OF THE STATE AUDITOR. IT CAN BE ASSUMED THAT HIS POLICIES GOING FORWARD, SIMILARLY TO HIS HISTORY AS SECRETARY, WILL REFLECT WHATEVER MAGA, OR TRUMP, WANTS FROM THE MOMENT. HE KEPT A VERY FRANK AND HONEST APPROACH TO REPORTING VOTER FRAUD, REGARDING THE NUMBERS, WHICH WILL HOPEFULLY CARRY FORWARD IF HE IS ELECTED AUDITOR.

ANNETTE BLACKWELL56 As far as experience, track record, and policy go Annette Blackwell is the sort of candidate parties should foam at the mouth over. As Mayor of Maple Heights she conducted a full 180 degree turn from the state of disaster she walked into. Upon recognizing the fiscal emergency, she made a war room out of her coffee table, and got to work on a five year plan to turn the cities financials around. It was a marvelous success and she totes the victory as the kind of financial experience which makes her perfect for this sort of position. She has shown that she has an interest in safeguarding city finances, and now has a chance to defend Ohio’s tax dollars. UPON TAKING OFFICE MAPLE HEIGHTS WAS ON THE STATE OFFICIAL’S WATCHLIST, AND WAS IN A STATE OF DEEP FISCAL EMERGENCY. RECENTLY MAPLE HEIGHTS RECEIVED MULTIPLE AWARDS FOR CLEAN AUDITS, AND IS RECOGNIZED AS ONE OF THE STATE’S BEST PARTNERS. She has been very verbal on her page about certain objectives for the office, but has mostly just reiterated the desire she has for a safe and affordable Ohio. As Auditor she hopes to tackle corruption, and safeguard our tax dollars like she did in Maple Heights. Her ambitions however stretch beyond the basics, as she wants to closely partner and work with communities across Ohio in order to give them the conditions they need to grow safely and without breaking the bank. Her approach, while steeped in practical experience, expands to the struggles Ohioans feel every day. She will be an auditor who wants to address the affordability crisis, not just an effective mini IRS for Ohio’s businesses. BEFORE BEING ELECTED TO LEAD MAPLE HEIGHTS SHE WORKED WITH PRIVATE SECTOR FINANCIAL COMPANIES FOR OVER A DECADE. SHE ALSO WORKED WITH UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS, AS WELL AS BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS ACROSS CLEVEALND BEING FROM BOTH THE PRIVATE SECTOR AND PUBLIC SERVICE, SHE UNDERSTANDS THAT VOTERS NEED TO SEE RESULTS SHE WANTS TO RESHAPE THE AUDITORS OFFICE INTO SOMETHING THAT PEOPLE ARE NOT SCARED OF, AND INSTEAD APPRECIATE.

57SECRETARY OF STATE A STATE’S SECRETARY HAS THE IMPORTANT JOB OF ENSURING ELECTION SECURITY, ACCESS, AND COORDINATION. THEY ARE THE STATE’S CHIEF ELECTION OFFICER, AND ALL ELECTION POLICY GOES, MORE OR LESS, THROUGH THEIR OFFICE. BEING THE SECRETARY ULTIMATELY MEANS THEY ARE THE CHIEF ADMIN, AND RECORD KEEPER, FOR THE STATE. THEY CONDUCT THE OVERSIGHT FOR ELECTION DAY, SUPERVISE ELECTION POLICY IN THE STATE, AND ENSURE THAT OHIOANS HAVE EQUAL ACCESS TO VOTE. IN OHIO OUR CURRENT SECRETARY HAS PUSHED FOR WHAT IS LIKELY THE STRICTEST VOTING LAWS IN ANY STATE. BOTH CANDIDATES FOR SECRETARY THIS YEAR HAVE THEIR OWN POLICY EXPERIENCES AND GOALS. THEY HAVE PRETTY DIVERGENT POLITICS UP TO THIS POINT, AND BOTH HAVE MORE THAN A DECADE OF CIVIL SERVICE, AND EXPERIENCE WORKING WITHIN OHIO’S STATE GOVERNMENT.

ALLISON RUSSO58 Allison Russo has served four terms in the Ohio house of representatives, and used to be the minority leader fo the democrats in Ohio. She has a policy desire of prioritizing health care, election integrity, and worker’s rights. She champions accomplishments such as protecting Ohio’s direct democracy from issue 1 back in 2023, enshrining reproductive freedoms in the state, and expanding programs to help working class families thrive. These programs range from childcare to veteran services. She holds a Doctor of Public Health in Health Policy from the George Washington University and a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She also has over 20 years of civil service, and administrating, experience centered around her voice in the Ohio house. She has received endorsements from organizations across Ohio, ranging from the Baptist Ministerial Alliance of Columbus & Vicinity, to the Buckeye Veterens Coalition, all the way to the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades. The job of the states secretary is to protect and preserve the voice of the people. They act as chief election officer for our state, and election security is a large part of what they facilitate. She believes that these positions should be chosen by the people, rather than being filled by people willing to exploit that power for personal or partisan gain.

59ROBERT SPRAGUE He has a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Duke, and a Master in business administration from the university of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 2011 Sprague was appointed to fill the 86 district seat of Cliff Hite. He then won elections in 2012, 2014, and 2016. Then in 2018 he was elected to be the states Treasurer, taking office in January of 2019. His 15 year career in public service has been centered around mainly finance reform. th Once in office Sprague asserted that he would not make investment decisions based on ESG factors, allowing for financial decisions which prioritize profit above possible impacts. This ESG exclusion asserts his position that environmental, social, and governance are irrelevant to the investments he makes as Treasurer. This means that considerations for environmental impacts like green house gasses, waste management, or water usage were largely ignored in his investments in office. The same can be said for the social and governance categories, which address DEI and top down structural impacts respectively. He, and other state treasurers, have been pushing back against this guiding business structure, instead considering profits paramount. More recently he, and other state financiers, have reached out to firms about their ESG practices. He worked towards cutting red tape for investment, and investing for the maximum possible return. As secretary he will work to make elections secure from voter fraud, primarily by verifying US citizenship, and requiring photo ID for all voting avenues. He is running to ensure that only legal and real votes are counted, and has an ad on his campaign site comically depicting his running goals very succinctly.
