PURPLEPURPLE StarsStars Block 1ABlock 1A PURPLE Stars Block 1AWelcome to the very first edition of our six-weekly Littleton Green newsletter. As a school community, we are incredibly proud of the warm, caring and inclusive environment that makes Littleton Green such a special place to learn, grow and belong. We believe every child, family, and member of staff plays an important role in our community, and this newsletter celebrates our successes, shares key information, and strengthens the partnership between home and school. Following parent feedback, our family engagement events now allow brothers and sisters to take part together. We’ve also introduced Family Groups, giving children across year groups more chances to connect, support each other and feel a stronger sense of belonging. These developments reflect our commitment to listening to our community and ensuring that every child feels known, valued and included. As Headteacher, my priority is ensuring every child feels safe, happy and able to thrive. Strong relationships, a love of learning and a true sense of belonging guide everything we do. Thank you for your continued support — I look forward to sharing more of Littleton Green’s achievements throughout the year.Chair of LACMr. R. As Director of Learning and School Improvement, I work closely with Littleton Green’s leaders and staff, helping the school build on its strengths and focus support where it will make the greatest difference for children. This includes reviewing teaching and learning, supporting professional development, and sharing expertise and successful practice across our 21 schools. At Littleton Green, this collaborative approach is helping to strengthen consistently high- quality teaching, adaptive support for pupils including those with SEND and disadvantaged pupils, and curriculum development in areas such as writing. Just as importantly, Littleton Green contributes its own strong practice and expertise to other Trust schools. By working together in this way, we can give staff access to wider expertise and resources whilst Littleton Green retains its own identity and focus on its community – all with the aim of ensuring every child is known, learning and able to flourish.Block 1A Preschool - Ellie, Jaxon Nursery - Ella, Rocky, Evelyn, Maysn Reception - Millie, Zachary, Bonnie, TJ Year 1 - Ella, Caleb, Lilly, Kunmi Year 2 - Edward, Alaska, Ella, Rory Year 3 - Theo, Lacey, Dalton, Willow Year 4 - Harrison, Lucy, Libby, Karson Year 5 - Carter, Charlotte, Benjamin, Maddison Year 6 - Megan, Dante, Rosie, Chase

Following our Mental Health assembly, pupils are learning simple strategies to manage their emotions, supported by our Wellbeing Ambassadors, Hayley’s drop‑ins, our Friday Wellbeing Club and our new Playground Leaders, who help make lunchtimes active and friendly with support from Chase Terrace Football Club. With a parent wellbeing session coming soon and key events like Harvest and our Remembrance Day service ahead, there are plenty of chances for children to come together and feel proud of their school. Keeping children safe is our top priority at Littleton Green. Our aim is to make sure every child feels safe, listened to and supported in school. - Mental Health Assembly- Mental Health Assembly- Mental Health Assembly How we support pupils in school Children are encouraged to talk to trusted adults, and access wellbeing support through drop‑ins, nurture groups and pastoral sessions.Who to speak to if you have a concern Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Mrs. Thorneycroft, and our Deputy DSL is Miss Kelly. If you ever have a concern about a child’s safety or wellbeing, please contact the school office and ask for a member of the safeguarding team. SEND🌟 Our New Sensory Room Our new sensory room is now open, thanks to funding from Virtual Schools, and it’s already making a big difference. Children with sensory needs can use the space to feel calm, regulate and get ready to learn. One pupil said, “Time in there makes my energy go and I feel calm. This helps me with my learning in class.” We’re committed to supporting every child so they feel safe, settled and ready to learn. If you’d like advice or a chance to talk about your child’s needs, our Parent Support Group runs every Wednesday from 1:30–3:00pm at The Grove. You’re very welcome to join us. At Littleton Green, we celebrate our pupils who show HERO attendance (here, everyday, ready, on time!). SAFEGUARDING ATTENDANCE Have a look at our top classes for this 6-week block. If we notice your child needs support with their attendance, they may be invited to our 'helpful heroes' group. - Club- Club- Club LearningLearning SpotlightsSpotlights Learning Spotlights Breakfast ClubOver the past six weeks, Breakfast Club has been buzzing with games, crafts, computer time and our much‑loved circle sessions that help children feel part of our school family. Pupils from Preschool to Year 6 have enjoyed building friendships, trying new activities and starting their mornings with confidence and smiles. Friday pancakes, creative projects and older children supporting younger ones have been real highlights. One Year 6 child captured the spirit perfectly: “Morning club makes me feel happy because it helps me get to know new people and see my friends at the same time.” Each newsletter, we will celebrate a different year group. For our first edition, we are focusing on Year 6! -Activites-Activites-Activites YEAR GROUP Over the past six weeks, After School Club has been full of creativity, teamwork and fun, with children from Preschool to Year 6 enjoying Lego, drawing, outdoor play, water trays, fidget toys and plenty of imaginative activities. Our older pupils have been brilliant role models, showing kindness and cooperation while supporting younger children during shared play. Toast at 4:30pm continues to be a favourite, with occasional surprises to keep things exciting. One of our Reception children summed it up perfectly: “Seeing Miss Payne and going outside because I get to play with the water.” Our dedicated team have loved seeing the children relax, play and build friendships, and we’re excited for all the activities planned for the next six weeks. EYFS Afterschool Club Our EYFS children have settled in brilliantly and are already getting stuck into their learning! Across Preschool, Nursery and Reception, children have been learning about our PURPLE values, rules and routines, while exploring what makes them unique and learning about families, friendships and important people in their lives. They have celebrated the wonderful diversity of our families and enjoyed special visits from the fire service and Di Holt from our local church, developing their understanding of people who help us in our community. We are incredibly proud of the fantastic start they have made! 💜 Year 6 have had a brilliant few weeks — from creative projects to high‑school visits as they begin thinking about the next stage of their learning journey! As artists… They’ve designed meaningful street‑art inspired by Rugeley’s mining heritage, exploring themes like climate change, PRIDE and animal welfare. Their ideas and discussions have been fantastic! 🇫🇷 As linguists… Year 6 are growing in confidence using full French sentences to share their sporting likes and dislikes — perfect preparation for their upcoming French trip! 🇫🇷 ⚽ 📜 As historians… They’ve investigated the census and discovered how Suffragettes used the 1911 Census to protest for voting rights — a powerful look at how history reveals real voices and real change. 💜📜

Community Events CommunityCommunity SpotlightsSpotlights Community SpotlightsOver the last six weeks, we’ve been refreshing parents’, carers’ and pupils’ understanding of how to regulate and how to use affective statements after a conflict. These simple strategies make a big difference to children’s confidence and calm — why not try them at home too. Our Harvest celebrations were made extra special this year as Littleton Green teamed up with our local Lay Di Holt to give thanks for the many blessings we share. Children generously donated items for the local food bank and enjoyed singing harvest songs while learning why this is such an important time of year, when we come together to say thank you for what we have. A heartfelt thank you to all our families for your kindness and generosity. Your support will make a real difference to those in our local community. 💛🌾🍂 Green Guardians HARVESTOur Green Guardians also visited Staffordshire Place 1 for an RRP day, proudly sharing their role and the important part they play in Littleton Green’s community and sense of belonging. Their confidence and pride were outstanding.🌟 Our school is proud to support two wonderful upcoming community events at the Miners’ Wheel — St Thomas’ Remembrance Sunday, where families come together to honour and remember loved ones, and the festive Christmas Light Switch‑On, a much‑loved tradition that brings our community together. ❤💡 Both events are special moments, and we warmly welcome all families to join us as we stand together, reflect, celebrate and show the strength of our community.
