Mila woke up this morning with a big smile. Today is zoo day. She packed her hat, water bottle and his favorite teddy bear.

At the gate a tall flamingo statue welcomes them.

First, they visit the elephants. One giant elephant sprayed water with his trunk. Mila giggled as a water drops landed on his shoes

Next, they came to the monkey house. One monkey scratched his head its head and made a funny face. Mila copied the monkey and everyone laughed

Near the pond, bright parrots sat in the trees. Red, blue, yellow, and green feathers sparkled in the sun. One parrot squawked, “Hello!” Mila waved and answered, “Hello, birdie!”

Then they saw the lions. A sleepy lion rested under a shady rock. But the lion cubs were wide awake. They rolled, jumped, and chased each other through the grass.

At lunchtime, Mila ate sandwiches near the giraffe area. A tall giraffe bent its long neck toward the leaves.

After lunch, they walked to the penguin pool. The penguins waddled side to side. Some slid into the icy water with tiny splashes

Before going home, Mila visited the butterfly garden. Soft butterflies floated all around her. One orange butterfly landed gently on her hand. Mila stayed very still

As the sun began to set, Mila waved goodbye to the zoo. She felt happy and tired after her big adventure.

On the ride home, she hugged her teddy bear and smiled. The End
