The Ministry of ALTAR SERVERS What do they do? Why are they important? MAGAZINE Why is it a good act of service? Altar servers assist the priest and deacon at the altar during religious services Altar service requires preparation, punctuality, and focus. Servers must dress appropriately, arrive early to set up, memorize liturgical procedures, and remain composed and attentive throughout the service. Serving at the altar is often one of the earliest ways young people participate actively in church life.
The Ministry of THE YOUTH GROUP What do they do? Why are they important? MAGAZINE Why is it a good act of service?The Youth Group Ministry serves middle school, high school, and young adult members of the parish, providing a space for faith formation, community, and service tailored to their age group. By encouraging teens to take ownership of events, lead prayer, and serve others. It creates the next generation of parish communitiesEngaging in service during formative teenage years helps turn charity from a one-time activity into a core value and lifelong habit of stewardship.
The Ministry of THE CHOIR What do they do? Why are they important? MAGAZINE Why is it a good act of service?The Choir leads and enhances the musical and liturgical life of the parish during Masses, services, and special celebrations throughout the liturgical year. Singing in a choir requires members to dedicate their physical voices, musical skills, and time as a direct offering of gratitude to God for the benefit of others.Music brings visual and auditory beauty to liturgy, creating a transcendent environment that helps move the heart and mind toward prayer.
Interview Chosen group: Choir 1.The challenges their organization faces in helping others. The church doesn’t have any events that they do help others, but the biggest challenge that they face is the lack of people volunteering for their organization, they don’t have much members and sometimes they lack people when they are about to start. This also means that the biggest challenge they would face in helping others would be that they don’t have anyone to help. 2.Why is youth involvement crucial for driving positive change. They stated that the youth nowadays is stuck to their phones and rarely grounded to the society and unaware of the current problems in the society. They know that most Filipinos know the problems of the other countries, yet they are completely clueless about the problems of their own issues. Having the youth involved will be crucial because they are the future of society, the young people will also have a bias for other people their age, they will most likely no longer choose older candidates, which is why they need to be active in driving for positive change. MAGAZINE My Personal Action Plan For my action plan, I wan to become more active in my parish, especially in learning the responsibilities, importance, and the role of my generation in the future. After creating this magazine, I felt compelled to join the altar servers like last year because last time I only joined to get a grade on my assignment, this time I also want the learn what an altar server does, how they prepare, and also to experience the things that they had to do.
