because having a soul, a camera and special people in your life can inspire you to dream bigger

As I grew up, I’ve realized how quickly time goes, and that the only thing we have left, is memories. But it’s easy to forget. It’s easy to overlook the small details, especially in the society we live today. We are always doing something, always busy, always running around. We don’t have the time to take a moment and remember what makes us happy. Being a teenager is a weird stage of your life. You’re in the verge of being a kid and an adult, you don’t know what your future will be like, what you want to dedicate your life to, you don’t even know what you’ll wear tomorrow.

With this portfolio, my aim is to blend these two topics, by creating a collection of my best memories throughout my teenage years up to now, all captured by myself. I’ve carefully selected the pictures that I feel best convey my message adequately, although they don’t come close to even covering a third of what I’ve lived.

To have been able to capture most of my happiest memories and bring them together in this portfolio is something I’m grateful for, but I’m mostly thankful to the subjects of my photographs and who’ve inspired me to create this project. My friends. Some of them have been with me since a young age, others I’ve met a few years ago and some I don’t even talk to anymore. But what they all have in common, is that they’re a part of me. Of my past and present, my personality, my jokes and the way I am. They all have been by my side throughout my adolescence, which was, and still is, a hard time for me, and their support is what has helped me to put up with this. When I become an adult, not only will I miss the freedom of being a teenager and fool around with nobody judging me, or to stay in bed all day and do nothing, but to spend quality time with the people I appreciate the most. I will miss the sleepovers in which we stayed up all night, the jokes that made no sense but we laughed at until our stomachs hurt, the failed cookies we tried a thousand times to bake, the lazy hangouts, the parties where we danced even if our feet hurt, and being scolded for not paying attention in class.
