What If? My Future Home Block 4 Session 2
Bolt whizzed into the city square. "What could my job be when I am older?" Dot smiled. "You might make music, grow food, teach, build or discover something new." Cog said, "Working hard means practising, learning and trying again." "What would you love to do?" asked Bolt.
Let us choose a place that fits our dreamsevery door could open into a different story
Around the corner stood a street of empty homes. There was a small house, a sunny apartment and even a treehouse- style flat! "Every door could open into a different story," said Dot. Cog looked up. "Let us choose a place that fits our dreams."
My home can be busy, bouncy and full of ideas!
Bolt chose a sunny apartment with a balcony. He imagined quick zig-zag rugs, bright colours and maps for brand new adventures. "My home can be busy, bouncy and full of ideas!" he beeped. What exciting thing would you put in your space?
Friends can feel cosy here
Dot chose a peaceful apartment near the garden. She added soft cushions, a reading nook and lots of green plants. "Friends can feel cosy here," she said kindly.
A home can help us make big ideas real
Cog chose a roomy flat with strong shelves. He planned a sturdy workbench for building, fixing and making useful things. "A home can help us make big ideas real," said Cog.
A home is important, but a community needs useful places too!
Then Bolt spotted the town's helpful places. There was a grocer for food, a library for stories and a church with space for people to meet together. "A home is important, but a community needs useful places too!" he said.
We can share spaces as well as homes
Dot noticed the things that helped everybody. Safe paths, a little bus, a park and places to grow food made the city kinder. "We can share spaces as well as homes," she said.
The friends left their front door open and waved across the courtyard. Soon, they had a shared garden, a picnic table and a place to park bikes. "We can live close to friends or make new neighbours," said Dot. "A whole street can help each other," said Cog.
Build alone, build with friends or become brilliant neighbours. Choose a home that feels happy, useful and full of you
As the sunset painted the city gold, Bolt beeped, "What if this was your street?" Dot added, "Choose a home that feels happy, useful and full of you." Cog pointed to the empty city. "Build alone, build with friends or become brilliant neighbours." Now imagine, decorate and build your future home!
There is a super important rule to remember today. “Protect our world” Have fun but remember to think about everyone else in the world with you.
