Through this meaningful occasion, the newly inducted officers affirmed their commitment to serving the school community, addressing learners’ needs, and helping create a support- ive and inclusive learning environment. The event marked the beginning of another year of unified efforts toward the continuous growth and improvement of Cubacub Elementary School. On September 19, 2026, the BSP leaders of Cubacub Elementary School actively participated in a coastal clean-up drive as part of their commitment to environmen- tal protection and community ser- vice. The activity aimed to remove waste from the coastal area, pre- vent pollution, protect marine life, and promote proper waste dispos- al. Involving learners in the clean-up drive is important be- cause it allows them to understand their responsibility in caring for the environment through hands-on experience. The activity also de- velops discipline, teamwork, lead- ership, and volunteerism among the young scouts. By working to- gether, the learners witnessed how simple actions can make a mean- ingful difference in keeping the community clean and safe. Through this initiative, the BSP leaders demonstrated the true spirit of scouting by serving the community and encouraging oth- ers to protect natural resources. Their participation reminds every- one that learners can become re- sponsible environmental stewards and positive agents of change. Cubacub Elementary School successfully held its BSP Backyard Camping and Investiture, bringing together young scouts for a meaningful day of learning, service, and fellowship. The investiture ceremony formally welcomed new members into the Boy Scouts of the Philippines. Learners proudly recited the Scout Oath and Law, received their neckerchiefs, and pledged to uphold the values of discipline, responsibil- ity, and respect. Following the ceremony, the backyard camping activities allowed scouts to develop practical skills through tent pitch- ing, knot tying, team games, and other outdoor challenges. Each activity encouraged cooperation, leadership, independ- ence, and preparedness among the participants. Teachers and scout leaders guided the learners and ensured that every task was completed safely. The event concluded with grateful hearts and stronger friendships. NEWS 3 While learners take a well- deserved wellness break, the teachers of Cubacub Elementary School re- main committed to learning, growing, and preparing for the challenges of an ever-changing educational landscape. Instead of allowing the break to pass without purpose, the school uses this valuable time to conduct its In- Service Training for Teachers, com- monly known as INSET. The activity provides a meaningful space where educators can strengthen their profes- sional knowledge, sharpen their teach- ing skills, and renew their commitment to delivering quality education to eve- ry learner. Anchored on the journalism theme “Embracing Change, Redefin- ing Excellence,” the INSET highlights the importance of adaptability and continuous improvement in the teach- ing profession. Education is constantly evolving because learners’ needs, available technol- ogies, assessment practices, and approaches to instruction also change over time. Teachers must therefore remain open to fresh ide- as and responsive to new demands. By embracing change, Cubacub Elementary School teachers demonstrate that pro- fessional growth is not simply an obli- gation, but an essential part of becom- ing more effective, compassionate, and innovative educators. Throughout the training, teachers are given opportunities to explore evidence-based approaches that can improve classroom instruction and learner achievement. These ap- proaches help educators make in- formed decisions based on reliable information, actual learning results, and the observed needs of their pupils. Rather than relying only on familiar routines, teachers examine practices that have been shown to support better understanding, participation, and re- tention. This process allows them to identify which methods are effective, which areas require improvement, and which interventions may be necessary for learners who need additional guid- ance and support. The INSET also in- troduces innovative teaching strategies that can make lessons more engaging, meaningful, and relevant. Teachers discuss ways to encourage active par- ticipation, collaboration, creativity, communication, and critical thinking inside the classroom. They consider how varied activities, localized exam- ples, appropriate technologies, and differentiated tasks can help learners connect lessons with real-life experi- ences. These strategies recognize that children learn in different ways and at different paces. By expanding their collection of teaching techniques, edu- cators become better prepared to cre- ate lessons that motivate learners and build confidence in their abilities. The theme “Embracing Change, Redefining Excellence” cap- tures the heart of Cubacub Elementary School’s INSET. Embracing change means having the courage to learn, adjust, and move beyond familiar practices when better possibilities be- come available. Redefining excellence means recognizing that quality educa- tion is not measured only by awards, scores, or completed requirements. True excellence is reflected in respon- sive teaching, inclusive opportunities, professional integrity, caring relation- ships, and the continuous pursuit of Teachers strengthened their professional skills through collaborative learning, innovative strategies, and meaningful activities during the INSET.

4 EDITORIAL The environment is sending a warning that can no longer be ig- nored. Flooded communities, plastic- filled waterways, polluted coastlines, extreme heat, and unpredictable weather affect our health, education, livelihoods, and future. Guided by the theme“Embracing Change, Redefining Excellence,” Filipinos must transform environmental responsibility from an occasional activity into a lasting way of life. Plastic pollution remains one of the country’s most visible environ- mental challenges. Bags, sachets, bottles, and food wrappers often end up in streets, drainage systems, rivers, and seas. The Philippines’ National Plastic Action Roadmap 2026–2040 aims to reduce plastic pollution by 85 percent by 2040 through improved prevention, collection, recovery, and recycling. However, the plan will suc- ceed only when government agencies, businesses, schools, families, and communities take consistent action. Improper waste disposal is not merely an issue of cleanliness. Gar- bage blocks waterways, worsens flooding, harms marine life, and ex- poses communities to disease. A sin- gle wrapper may appear harmless, but millions of careless actions create enormous consequences. People must stop treating public spaces as dump- ing grounds and practice waste segre- gation, recycling, and responsible con- sumption every day. Ordinary citizens, however, cannot carry the entire burden. Local govern- ments must provide reliable waste collection, functioning drainage sys- tems, recovery facilities, and clear dis- posal rules. Businesses must reduce unnecessary packaging, develop affordable alternatives, and accept responsibility for the waste their prod- ucts create. Environmental excellence requires systems that make responsi- ble choices practical and accessible. Schools also have a vital role. Learners should not merely memorize the definitions of pollution, climate change, biodiversity, and recycling. They must be given opportunities to turn knowledge into action. Coastal cleanups, school gardening, eco- fashion activities, waste segregation, tree-growing projects, and environ- mental campaigns can teach responsi- bility, leadership, creativity, and team- work. Learner involvement matters because habits developed in child- hood can shape lifelong decisions. During a coastal cleanup, learners see how plastic damages marine ecosys- tems. Through eco-fashion, they dis- cover that discarded materials can be transformed through imagination and resourcefulness. Adults must model the same values. It is unfair to ask chil- dren to protect nature while adults continue littering, wasting water, burning garbage, or depending heavily on disposable products. The country must also redefine excellence. Excellence cannot be measured only through grades, awards, impressive buildings, or eco- nomic growth. A school cannot claim excellence while its surroundings re- main dirty. A community cannot call itself progressive while its waterways are polluted. A business cannot cele- brate success while ignoring the envi- ronmental damage caused by its oper- ations. Genuine excellence includes sustainability, discipline, accountabil- ity, preparedness, and concern for future generations. Cleanups and tree-planting ac- tivities are valuable, but they become temporary solutions when communi- ties return to harmful habits after- ward. Campaigns must lead to con- sistent practices, and planted seed- lings must receive continued care. Em- bracing change means replacing con- venience-driven habits with responsi- ble choices. Redefining excellence means recognizing that development should never come at the expense of the environment. A cleaner and safer Philippines is possible, but promises alone will not create it. Every reusable container, properly sorted piece of waste, pro- tected tree, clean waterway, and envi- ronmentally aware learner represents progress. Individual actions may seem small, yet collective discipline can pro- duce lasting change. The environmental crisis is a shared responsibility. Government, businesses, schools, families, and learners must work together with ur- gency and consistency. By embracing better habits today, Filipinos can rede- fine excellence as progress that pro- tects people and the planet. The fu- ture depends on the choices made now, and change must begin with each of us. CANVA EDUCATION

5OPINION Education shapes the future, but it cannot remain unchanged while society continues to evolve. New technologies, changing work- places, and diverse learner needs re- quire schools to improve teaching and learning. Embracing change does not mean abandoning traditional practices. It means preserving what works while adopting better ways to help every learner succeed. Teachers are central to this transfor- mation. Continuous professional de- velopment helps them strengthen their knowledge, use innovative strat- egies, assess learners fairly, and pro- vide suitable interventions. When teachers continue learning, they be- come more prepared to address learning gaps and create meaningful classroom experiences. Technology can also make lessons more engaging, accessible, and rele- vant. However, digital tools should support, not replace, teachers. Schools must consider learners who have limited access to gadgets or reliable internet. Educational progress must be inclusive and should never widen existing inequalities. Learners must become active partici- pants in their education. Schools should encourage them to ask ques- tions, solve problems, communicate ideas, collaborate with others, and apply knowledge to real-life situa- tions. Memorization has value, but critical thinking, creativity, and adapt- ability prepare learners for challenges beyond the classroom. Parents, school leaders, and commu- nities also share responsibility. Par- ents can support learning at home, while school leaders must provide teachers with resources and guid- ance. Strong cooperation ensures that learners receive consistent and meaningful support. True excellence is not measured only by grades, awards, or completed les- sons. It is reflected in responsible, compassionate, and adaptable learn- ers who are prepared to contribute to society. It is also seen in schools that recognize individual differences and give every child a fair opportunity to develop. EDUCATION MUST MOVE FORWARD Editorial Whenever I see plastic scattered on streets, floating in waterways, or left along coastlines, I am reminded that environmental problems often begin with our daily choices. Flood- ing, clogged drainage systems, pollut- ed seas, and extreme heat affect our health, safety, education, and future. Clean-up drives, tree-planting activities, and environmental cam- paigns are valuable, but their effects will not last if people return to care- less habits. Protecting nature must be- come an everyday responsibility through waste segregation, recycling, conserving water, and avoiding un- necessary plastics. Schools help develop environ- mentally responsible learners. Through coastal cleanups, gardening, eco-fashion activities, and recycling projects, learners turn knowledge into meaningful action while developing creativity, teamwork, discipline, and leadership. However, children cannot solve these problems alone. Adults must set good examples, government offices must provide dependable waste- management systems, and businesses must reduce excessive packaging. For me, progress is reflected in clean surroundings, protected re- sources, and responsible citizens. Every reusable container, properly disposed wrapper, protected tree, and clean waterway makes a difference. Lasting change does not always re- quire grand projects. It begins with one responsible choice practiced consistently by everyone, every day. CANVA EDUCATION

6 EDITORIAL COLUMN Reading is more than recog- nizing letters, pronouncing words, or finishing a page. It is the foundation of learning and one of the most im- portant skills a child can develop. Through reading, learners gain knowledge, understand instructions, express ideas, and discover worlds beyond their immediate experience. Yet many children still struggle to read fluently and understand what they have read. This challenge de- mands immediate and united action. A learner who has difficulty reading may also struggle in mathe- matics, science, social studies, and other subjects. Even when a child can pronounce every word, learning remains limited if the child cannot understand the message of the text. Reading instruction must therefore focus not only on speed and accura- cy, but also on vocabulary, compre- hension, critical thinking, and the ability to relate information to real- life experiences. Schools must give reading the attention it deserves. Teachers need suitable books, effective strategies, assessment tools, and enough time to support learners at different read- ing levels. Some children require guided practice and repeated read- ing, while others need enrichment materials that will deepen their inter- ests. A single method cannot ad- dress every learner’s needs. Reading programs must be inclusive, respon- sive, and based on actual assessment results rather than assumptions. However, teachers cannot car- ry this responsibility alone. Parents and guardians have an important role in developing a love for reading. Reading with children, asking ques- tions about a story, visiting a library, and setting aside quiet reading time can make a lasting difference. Fami- lies do not need expensive materials to begin. Storybooks, newspapers, informational texts, and age- appropriate digital resources can all provide meaningful practice. Technology also offers oppor- tunities, but it must be used wisely. Digital books, educational applica- tions, and recorded stories can make reading more accessible and engag- ing. Still, gadgets should not replace meaningful interaction with teachers, family members, and printed materi- als. Without proper guidance, chil- dren may become distracted or ac- cept online information without checking its accuracy. Digital literacy must include careful reading, fact- checking, and responsible use of online content. Sheena V. Apostol News Editor Solen Abegyl Solis Editor-in-chief Reading achievement should not be measured only through awards or high test scores. Genuine success is seen when learners read with un- derstanding, confidence, curiosity, and purpose. Children should never be mocked or compared when they struggle. They need patient teach- ing, regular encouragement, and opportunities to improve without fear of embarrassment. A strong reading culture requires shared commitment. Schools must provide quality instruction, families must reinforce good habits, and communities must increase access to books. If reading difficulties are ignored, children may carry learn- ing gaps into higher grade levels and adulthood. Reading opens doors to education, employment, informed decision- making, and active citizenship. It enables learners to question, imag- ine, communicate, and dream. Reading is not merely another classroom requirement. It is a life- long tool for independence and progress. Strengthening reading today means building a more knowledgeable, confident, and hopeful generation tomorrow. The official Publication of Cubacub Elementary School

Turning pages, Changing lives Open a book, and a new adventure begins. A reader can travel through a magical forest, explore the deepest ocean, visit distant planets, or meet remarkable people without leaving the classroom. Every page offers something new to discover. This is the wonderful power of reading. Reading is more than pronouncing words correctly. It helps learners understand lessons, express their ideas, and discover answers to their questions. Through books, children develop their imagination, improve their vocab- ulary, and learn valuable lessons about kindness, cour- age, honesty, and perseverance. As the world continues to change, the way children read is also changing. Stories can now be found not only in printed books but also in digital books, educational ap- plications, and online reading materials. These tools make information easier to access and provide learners with exciting ways to improve their reading skills. However, technology must be used responsibly. Digital resources should support learning rather than become distractions. Whether children are reading a printed sto- rybook or an electronic book, what matters most is that they understand the message, think about the ideas pre- sented, and use the information wisely. Teachers play an important role in every learner’s reading journey. Through storytelling, guided reading, vocabulary activities, and comprehension exercises, teachers help learners become more confident readers. They also pro- vide support to children who need more time and prac- tice. With patience and encouragement, struggling read- ers can gradually improve. Families can also help build a love for reading. Parents and guardians can read stories with their children, ask questions about the characters, and set aside a few minutes for reading at home. A simple reading corner can become a special place where children discover new interests and strengthen their imagination. Reading also teaches learners to welcome challenges. A difficult word can become a new word to learn. A confus- ing paragraph can become an opportunity to ask ques- tions and think more deeply. Every reading challenge helps children become patient, independent, and deter- mined. Excellence in reading is not measured only by how quick- ly a learner finishes a book. It is seen in the ability to un- derstand, reflect, imagine, and apply lessons in real life. A good reader does not simply remember words. A good reader thinks, asks questions, and searches for meaning. Schools can strengthen the culture of reading through storytelling sessions, book-sharing activities, reading cor- ners, library visits, and reading challenges. These activi- ties make reading enjoyable while allowing learners to share discoveries with classmates. Every child’s reading journey is different. Some learners may read confidently, while others may need additional guidance. No learner should feel embarrassed about reading slowly or making mistakes. With regular practice and proper support, every child can make progress. As learners open themselves to new stories, ideas, and ways of learning, they develop the confidence needed to face a changing world. Each page builds knowledge, and every story inspires growth. 8 Feature Teachers are more than people who explain lessons, check activi- ties, and give examinations. They are patient guides who help learners discover their abilities, overcome challenges, and believe in their dreams. Cubacub Elementary School celebrated Teachers’ Day to recog- nize the dedication, patience, and valuable service of its teachers. The celebration provided learners with an opportunity to express their grati- tude through heartfelt messages, thoughtful greetings, and meaning- ful presentations. The school was filled with appreciation as learners honored the educators who continually guide them inside and outside the class- room. The activity reminded every- one that behind every lesson is a teacher who spends time preparing, encouraging, and finding better ways to make learning meaningful. Teaching requires more than knowledge. It requires patience to understand struggling learners, crea- tivity to make lessons interesting, and compassion to support every child. As education continues to change, teachers also continue to learn, improve, and adapt their strat- egies to meet learners’ different needs. The celebration was more than a special program. It was a sin- cere tribute to the quiet sacrifices and lasting contributions of teach- ers. Through their dedication, Cubacub Elementary School teach- ers continue to shape responsible learners, inspire hopeful dreams, and build a brighter future, one les- son at a time. Artificial intelligence is transforming classrooms and workplaces. In education, AI tools can help learners re- search topics, practice skills, receive immediate feed- back, and understand difficult ideas. Teachers can also use AI to prepare lessons, create activities, and provide support suited to different learning needs. However, AI must be used responsibly. It should improve thinking and creativity, not replace effort, honesty, or independ- ent learning. In the workplace, AI is changing how people perform everyday tasks. It can organize information, summarize documents, analyze data, and improve productivity. Some jobs may change as routine duties become auto- mated, while new careers requiring digital and AI skills continue to emerge. Despite these developments, human abilities such as communication, teamwork, empathy, creativity, and responsible decision-making remain im- portant. Schools must prepare learners for a future where people and intelligent technologies work together. Learners need digital literacy, critical thinking, adaptability, and ethical aware- ness. They should know how to check infor- mation, protect personal data, and use tech- nology fairly. AI is neither a threat nor a perfect solution. Its im- pact de- pends on how people choose to use it. Literary 9 The First Light Parents are the first storytellers, guides, and teachers in a child’s life. Through loving words, patient hands, and quiet sacrifices, parents plant the earliest seeds of courage, kindness, and curiosity. Home becomes the first classroom, where children learn to speak, listen, dream, and believe in themselves. When parents work closely with teachers, the journey of learning becomes lighter and more meaningful. Their encouragement gives children confidence to face difficul- ties and turn mistakes into lessons. Even simple acts, such as reading together, asking about school, or celebrating small improvements, can leave lasting marks on a child’s heart. With parents walking be- side them, learners develop strong roots, brave wings, and the determination to reach brighter horizons with hope, purpose, gratitude, and confidence. Builders of Dreams Teachers are builders of dreams who trans- form classrooms into places of wonder, discovery, and growth. With patience, creativity, and dedication, teachers guide learners through difficult lessons and help them recognize abilities waiting to be discovered. Teachers do more than explain ideas or check written work. They listen, encourage, cor- rect, and inspire. As the world changes, teachers continue learning so that every lesson becomes meaningful, inclusive, and responsive to chil- dren’s needs. A kind word can restore confidence, while thoughtful guidance can lead a learner toward a brighter path. Long after classroom walls are left behind, the values and wisdom shared by teach- ers remain. Their influence lives in every curious mind, compassionate heart, responsible choice, and courageous dream pursued by their learners eve- ry single day. Doorway to Tomorrow Education is a doorway leading learners toward countless possibilities. It teaches more than facts and fig- ures; it develops curiosity, wisdom, courage, and responsi- bility. As society changes, education must also grow, wel- coming innovations while preserving values that give learn- ing its purpose. Every book opened, problem solved, and lesson understood becomes a step toward a brighter fu- ture. Through meaningful learning, every child gains the power to dream, adapt, and build a brighter to- morrow.

10 Science Feature Far above the clouds, satellites cir- cle Earth like watchful eyes. Alt- hough these machines seem distant, the information they gather can help protect farms, homes, and communities across the Philippines. In 2026, the country prepared to launch a satellite network support- ing agriculture and disaster re- sponse. Satellites capture images of large areas, helping scientists ob- serve floods, damaged crops, changing weather, and places diffi- cult to examine from the ground. [technology...quirer.net] This technology is valuable be- cause the Philippines frequently experiences typhoons, heavy rain- fall, landslides, floods, and droughts. Satellite images can help experts identify danger zones and create maps for rescuers and local authorities. Accurate information gives families more time to prepare and move to safer locations. Farmers can also benefit from space technology. Satellite data may reveal changes in vegetation, soil, and water supply. Scientists can use this information to monitor crops and guide decisions on plant- ing, irrigation, and protection. However, satellites cannot protect communities alone. Information must be accurate, clearly explained, and quickly shared. The country must support scientists, engineers, and researchers who transform data into practical solutions. For learners, this development proves that science goes beyond laboratories. With responsible inno- vation, eyes in the sky can help build a safer, smarter, and better- prepared Philippines. Source: Philippine Daily Inquirer article "A Call to Protect Our Planet for Future Generations " Climate change represents a long- term shift in the Earth’s global tem- perature with far-reaching, irreversi- ble effects. It is a growing concern worldwide, impacting ecosystems, biodiversity, and human communi- ties on every continent. With its es- calating dangers, climate change has become an undeniable threat to the stability of our planet and the lives that depend on it. Yet, skepticism still lingers about its existence and scope. As the planet warms, we see more frequent and severe natural disasters— hurricanes, floods, wildfires, heatwaves, and even changes to animal habitats. These disruptions are becoming the new norm, pushing us to take urgent action. How can we make a difference? One powerful way to combat climate change is by planting trees. Trees absorb carbon dioxide, helping reduce this green- house gas in the atmosphere and releasing oxygen back into the air, which benefits both us and the planet. Switching from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources like solar and wind is an- other essential step. Unlike fossil fuels, renewables can achieve zero carbon emis- sions, but reaching this goal requires coor- dinated efforts from governments, busi- nesses, and individuals around the world. Awareness is key. By educating our- selves and others about the im- portance of combating climate change, we can encourage collective action and inspire solutions that bene- fit both the environment and public health. Whether through community initiatives, policies, or personal choic- es, every step toward awareness matters. Adapting to the current impacts of climate change is equally crucial. By investing in adaptation measures, we can help com- munities and ecosystems adjust to chang- es that are already happening, building resilience for the future. Addressing climate change is among the most pressing challenges we face today. Urgent action is essential, and together, Creative Commons

11 Under the bright lights of the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, Filipi- no athletes have carried the nation’s colors with courage, discipline, and pride. Their performances show that sporting greatness is built through years of training, sacrifice, and determination. Carlos Yulo led the Philip- pine campaign with two gold med- als in artistic gymnastics, winning the men’s floor exercise and vault. His younger brother, Karl Eldrew Yulo, added a bronze in the hori- zontal bar, making the gymnastics arena a memorable stage for their family and country. Pole vaulter EJ Obiena deliv- ered the Philippines’ third gold medal. Other Filipino athletes also rose to the challenge. Amaya Am- paro Cojuangco won silver in wom- en’s compound archery, while Juli- ana Mykhail Candelaria and Jeus Gabriel Derick Yape earned medals in taekwondo poomsae. Alex Eala secured bronze in tennis. The Philippine women’s sepak takraw doubles team and Gi- las Pilipinas Women’s 3x3 basket- ball team claimed silver medals. Victoria Bossong earned bronze in the women’s 800 meters, while surfer Jayuard Alciso took bronze in the men’s shortboard event. Fili- pino competitors also reached the podium in martial arts, karate, weightlifting, soft tennis, esports, hurdles, and team sepak takraw. As of October 1, the Philip- pines had collected three gold, five silver, and 14 bronze medals. Yet these athletes offered the country something beyond numbers. Every landing, leap, sprint, shot, and strike reflected resilience under pressure. Their achievements re- mind young Filipinos that champi- ons are not formed overnight. They grow through practice, humility, setbacks, and the courage to try again while proudly representing the Philippines abroad. Source: Olympic.com The flame of sportsmanship burned brightly as the student- athletes of Cubacub Elementary School joined the District Meet held at Canduman Elementary School on September 3, 2026. Before the competition, the young athletes devoted time and effort to training for Arnis, bad- minton, basketball, and chess. Every practice strengthened not on- ly their skills but also their disci- pline, confidence, teamwork, and determination. Despite the pressure of representing their school, they faced every challenge with courage and gave their best in each sporting event. Athletes from different schools gathered excitedly to com- pete and showcase their abilities. The district meet gave them an op- portunity to test their skills, build friendships, practice sportsmanship, and learn valuable lessons beyond the classroom. A proud moment for Cubacub Elementary School came during the opening program when Gleanne Dixie Bontuyan was given the hon- or of lighting the ceremonial torch. An accomplished Arnis athlete who has reached regional and interna- tional competitions, Bontuyan served as an inspiration to aspiring athletes. The glowing torch sym- bolized courage, unity, persever- ance, and the fighting spirit shared by all participants. More than winning medals, the district meet celebrated dedica- tion and personal growth. Every match, move, and challenge re- vealed the athletes’ commitment to excellence. Through their participa- tion, the student-athletes of Cubacub Elementary School proved that true champions are formed through discipline, courage, team- work, and the willingness to keep improving.

The Official Publication of Cubacub Elementary School The journey continues for the student-athletes of Cubacub Elementary School as the school’s Arnis and basketball teams ad- vance to the Division Meet. Mov- ing one step higher in the competi- tion is an achievement that reflects their hard work, discipline, cour- age, and determination. Long before the event, the athletes devoted their time and energy to training. They practiced with fo- cus, listened carefully to their coaches, and learned from every mistake. Knowing that they would face skilled competitors from dif- ferent schools, they prepared not only their bodies and techniques but also their confidence, team- work, and sportsmanship. Each training session tested their pa- tience and strengthened their de- sire to improve. Cubacub’s elementary girls deliv- ered an outstanding performance in Arnis. Despite the number of competitors, they stood out through their precise movements, balance, control, timing, and mas- tery of the sport. Their efforts earned them gold medals in both the individual and team Anyo events. Every executed movement reflected many hours of practice, sacrifice, and commitment. Their victories brought pride and honor to the school community and in- spired other learners to discover their athletic abilities. The basketball team also repre- sented Cubacub Elementary School with pride. Competing against some of the strongest school teams in Mandaue City, the players demonstrated teamwork, discipline, and fighting spirit. They communicated on the court, fol- lowed their game plan, supported one another, and continued playing bravely until the final whistle. Re- gardless of the score, they were proud to have competed with the best and given everything they had. Each pass, rebound, defen- sive play, and shot showed their willingness to work as one team. Advancing to the Division Meet is more than reaching another level of competition. It gives the athletes an opportunity to test their abilities, gain experience, meet new competitors, develop friendships, and learn important lessons beyond the classroom. Their journey shows that medals and victories are only part of be- coming successful athletes. The discipline developed during train- ing and the courage shown during competition can also guide them in their studies and daily lives. True champions are shaped by dedication, humility, respect, teamwork, and the willingness to improve. As Cubacub’s Arnis and basketball athletes move forward, they carry the school’s name, the guidance of their coaches, and the support of their teachers, families, and fellow learners. Whatever hap- pens at the Division Meet, their achievement has already shown that preparation, unity, and perse- verance can take young athletes one step closer to their dreams.
