I first met Suthina when she enrolled in two retraining programmes at Hong Kong College of Technology — the Certificate in Backend Website Developer and the Certificate in Mobile Application Developer Training. Over the course of more than 450 hours of training between 2025 and 2026, I had the chance to observe her progress quite closely. Suthina stood out to me right away due to her rapid learning ability and genuine curiosity. Coming from a background in multimedia design, she brings an effortless aesthetic sense and a meticulous attention to detail that extends naturally from visual design into user experience. What impressed me most was how quickly she picked up full-stack skills and connected them with her creative foundation. During the courses, she built a strong technical base across both front-end tools (Ionic Framework, Angular, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and UI/UX design) and back-end development (Node.js, Express, MongoDB, PHP, MySQL, and RESTful API integration). A great example of this is her work on the Cultural HK Educational Game App. She took the initiative to plan the entire app structure, blending her design background with back-end logic into a functional product. Her meticulous nature was obvious in how thoughtfully she handled user navigation and interactive details. While she effectively integrated AI coding assistants such as Cursor and GitHub Copilot into her workflow, she was careful not to rely on them blindly—she routinely reviewed and refined the generated code to ensure she fully understood its architecture and logic. Beyond her technical ability, Suthina is a disciplined and self-motivated student. She consistently put in extra effort when facing challenges and was reliable in meeting deadlines.
