The first project, Raíces del Cielo, is a self-sustaining cultural center in Tónachi, Chihuahua. The design is organized around eight-sided pavilions with open courtyards, inspired by the constellations of the northern sky. The project includes a hearth kitchen, cave entrance steps, a wooden hook system, and rammed earth thresholds.
The second project, Solterra, is a shelter for single mothers located in downtown Phoenix between Jefferson Street and Washington Street. It is a modular residential community near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The document includes floor plans for families of two, three, and four people, as well as a shading system and residential step system.
Solterra also includes community programs such as a school, cafeteria, library, gym, and computer room. The final section, Falling Motion, contains prototypes, models, digital art, topophotography, and work exploring human connections.
