PUPIL RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIESEvery pupil has the right to:Every pupil is expected to:Learn in a safe, inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment. Be treated fairly and with dignity. Express ideas and concerns respectfully. Receive appropriate guidance and support. Be protected from bullying, abuse, discrimination, and violence. Attend classes regularly and arrive on time. Respect teachers, classmates, school personnel, and visitors. Follow school rules and safety procedures. Take care of school property and learning materials. ATTENDANCE & PUNCTUALITYRegular attendance is important because learning builds from one lesson to another. Pupils should attend school every school day unless absence is necessary. Come to school on time and be ready before classes begin. Parents/guardians should inform the teacher or school when a pupil is absent, when practicable. Provide an appropriate explanation or supporting document when required by school policy. Avoid unnecessary absences and frequent tardiness. Complete missed learning activities with the teacher’s guidance. UNIFORM, GROOMING AND IDENTIFICATIONPupils are expected to wear the prescribed school uniform and maintain neat, safe, and appropriate grooming. Wear the prescribed uniform and school identification when required. Keep clothes clean, decent, and properly worn. Observe appropriate hair and personal grooming standards. Wear safe and appropriate footwear. Follow approved provisions for religious or cultural attire, consistent with applicable DepEd policies. CLASSROOM AND SCHOOL CONDUCT Use respectful words and actions. Listen when others are speaking. Follow classroom routines and teacher instructions. Do not fight, threaten, harass, or intimidate others. Do not bring prohibited or dangerous items to school. Use school facilities responsibly. Walk calmly in hallways and designated areas. Ask permission before leaving the classroom when required. Help create an environment where everyone can learn.Positive Discipline Tambo ES promotes positive, non-violent, child-friendly approaches to discipline. Child Protection and Anti-BullyingAll pupils have the right to protection from bullying, abuse, exploitation, discrimination, and violence. Bullying may include: Repeated physical, verbal, social, or online actions intended to hurt, frighten, embarrass, or exclude another learner. Threats, harassment, spreading harmful rumors, or deliberate social exclusion.If you experience or witness bullying: Move to a safe place. Tell a trusted teacher, parent/guardian, school personnel, or designated child protection focal person. Do not retaliate or fight back. Keep relevant information that can help adults understand what happened. HEALTH, HYGIENE AND NUTRITIONWash hands regularly, especially before eating and after using the toilet. Practice proper cough and sneeze etiquette. Keep personal belongings and learning spaces clean. Bring safe drinking water when possible. Eat nutritious food and follow school health and feeding program guidance. Inform a teacher or school health personnel when feeling unwell. Safety is everyone’s responsibility. Know the school’s emergency exits, assembly areas, and evacuation routes. Follow teacher instructions during drills and emergencies. Do not run, push, or shout unnecessarily during evacuation. Report hazards such as damaged electrical wires, slippery floors, broken furniture, or unsafe structures. Do not play in restricted or hazardous areas. Keep emergency pathways clear. During an emergency Stay calm. Listen to authorized adults. Move to the designated safe area. Stay with your class or assigned group. CLEANLINESS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CAREDispose of waste properly and practice waste segregation. Keep classrooms, corridors, toilets, and school grounds clean. Take care of plants, trees, gardens, and other environmental projects. Avoid wasting water and electricity. Do not damage school property or the natural environment. Participate in school clean-up and environmental activities. A clean school is a healthy school. LEARNING AND ACADEMIC RESPONSIBILITIESBring needed learning materials and prepare for class. Participate actively in lessons and activities. Submit learning tasks on time. Ask questions when you do not understand. Practice reading and other basic skills regularly. Complete assessments honestly. Do your own work and acknowledge help or sources when appropriate. USE OF SCHOOL PROPERTY AND ICTHandle books, furniture, devices, and other school property with care. Return borrowed materials on time. Use computers, phones, internet access, and other ICT resources only when authorized. Do not access, create, or share harmful, inappropriate, or unsafe content using school resources. Protect passwords and personal information. Do not take photos, videos, or recordings of others for harmful or humiliating purposes. Pupils and parents/guardians may raise concerns through appropriate school channels. Step 1: Talk to the class adviser/teacher when appropriate. Step 2: Seek assistance from the School Head or designated school personnel. Step 3: For child protection or bullying concerns, approach the designated Child Protection Committee/Focal Person. Step 4: Emergency or serious safety concerns should be reported immediately to a responsible adult.
