Maggie and the StarThat Was Waiting

Dedication For Maggie, May you always know that you were loved long before you were born. May you always carry Wowa's kindness, courage, and love in your heart. Love always, Mummy & Daddy

Long before Maggie was born, before anyone had seen her tiny face or held her little hands, there was someone who loved her with all her heart. Her name was Wowa.

Wowa lived far away, in a place called Saudi Arabia. While Maggie was growing safely in Mum’s tummy in the United Kingdom But distance never stopped her love.

Every time Daddy called, Wowa would ask the same question with a big smile, "How is my little Maggie today?"

She loved looking at Maggie's baby pictures from the doctor's visits. She would imagine cuddling her, singing to her, and telling her stories. "I can't wait to become a Wowa!"

Maggie was going to be the very first grandchild and the very first great-grandchild in Daddy's family. Everyone was excited, but no one was more excited than Wowa. And Wowa loved her more than words could say.

Then something unexpected happened. Wowa became very sick with a serious illness and needed a lot of care from the doctors.

The illness made her body tired and weak. But something very important never changed. Her heart.

For many months, Wowa fought as hard as she could. Some days were difficult. Some days were painful. Yet she still smiled. She still prayed. She still thought about her family before herself.

And every day, she kept loving Maggie with all her heart.

Mommy often thought, "Wowa is one of the bravest people I have ever known." Even though her body grew weaker, her love never did. Even though she became tired, her kindness never disappeared. Even though the days were hard, her courage shone brightly—just like a star. She never stopped shining.

A few weeks before Maggie was born, Wowa's long fight came to an end. Her body could not stay any longer, and she peacefully went to Heaven. She became the brightest star in the sky.

And then, little Maggie was born. A bright new light in the world.

Everyone missed her very much. When Maggie was finally born, Daddy held her close. He smiled through happy tears. "Oh, Wowa," he whispered, "you would have loved her so much." "Wowa loves you so much."

He told her stories about Wowa. How kind she was. How brave. How gentle. As Maggie grew, Mommy and Daddy told her all about Wowa. They told her how generous she was. How she always helped others. How she welcomed Mommy into the family with open arms and loved her like her own daughter.

They told Maggie about Wowa's beautiful smile that made everyone feel at home. They told her that she was strong, kind, faithful, and full of love. And they told her about her courage. How she always helped others and shared her warmth.

He told her stories about Wowa. "Wowa fought one of the hardest battles anyone could face," Daddy said. "Was she scared?" Maggie asked. "Sometimes," Daddy answered softly. "But being brave doesn't mean you're never scared. Being brave means you keep loving, hoping, and caring for others even when life is hard. That's exactly what Wowa did."

He told her stories about Wowa. One clear evening, Daddy took Maggie outside. The stars sparkled above them. "Do you see that bright one?" he asked. Maggie nodded. "I like to think that's Wowa reminding us that love never disappears."

He told her stories about Wowa.Maggie looked up for a long time. "I wish I could have hugged her." Daddy squeezed her hand. "So do I," he said. "She wished she could hug you too." "Did she really love me?" "Oh yes," Mommy smiled. "She loved you before you were even born. She prayed for you. She dreamed about you. She couldn't wait to meet you."

"So Wowa knew me?" Maggie whispered. "She knew you before you even arrived."

"But Saudi Arabia is so far away," said Maggie. "How could she love me from there?"

Daddy pointed to the sky. "See the moon and the star? They are far apart, but they always shine together."

"Love brings them together," Daddy said. "Just like Wowa and you."

Because love doesn't need wings to fly. It travels across oceans and never gets lost.

Maggie placed her hand over her heart. "Then I think a little piece of Wowa is here." Mommy smiled through happy tears. "I think you're right."

From that day on, whenever Maggie saw a bright star, she remembered the stories. She remembered Wowa's kindness. She remembered Wowa's courage. She remembered that love can travel across oceans, across countries, and even across Heaven. "Hi, Wowa!"

And every time Maggie shared a hug, helped someone in need, or chose kindness, another little piece of Wowa's love continued to shine here on Earth, a piece of Wowa lives right here, inside Maggie's heart.

Every time Maggie is kind, brave, or gentle, Wowa's love shines a little brighter.

Because the brightest stars are not only the ones we see in the sky. Sometimes, they are the people whose love stays with us forever.

The End For Maggie, with all the love in the stars.

The Brightest Stars Some stars shine in the night sky. Others shine in our hearts forever. This story is lovingly dedicated to a brave Wowa whose love crossed oceans, time, and even Heaven to reach her granddaughter.
