A proud son of the UE Knights Class of 1968, Danilo has spent over five decades proving that the discipline forged on the UE drill field is the perfect foundation for a world-class career in Audit and Accountancy. Bro. Danilo’s journey began in the late 1960s within the hallowed halls of Lualhati. As a cadet officer, he mastered the art of command, the value of teamwork, and the uncompromising necessity of "Duty and Honor." While many took those lessons into the military, Danilo translated that "Warrior Spirit" into the meticulous world of finance. Now based in Australia, Danilo has carved out a distinguished reputation as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). In a foreign land, he has served as a silent ambassador of Filipino brilliance, demonstrating that a UE graduate possesses the grit to excel in any landscape. This month, the UE Knights Chronicle is proud to feature a man who has turned the Knight’s oath into a lifelong mission for the Filipino people: Hon. Edwin B. Carabbacan of Class Makabayan 1985. Judge Edwin is a twice-over son of UE, having earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (1985) and his Bachelor of Laws (1994) within the red-and-white walls of our Alma Mater. Admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1997, he did not seek the easiest path, but the most essential one: the defense National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC), where he served as a Labor Arbiter from 2015 to 2026. Sablayan’s journey is a rare narrative of versatile service. Forged first in the discipline of the Philippine Navy, he brought the precision of a mariner to the frontlines of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Narcotics Command (NARCOM). In an era when the "evils of dangerous drugs" began to threaten the very fabric of Filipino society, he was chosen for the most delicate and dangerous assignments — missions where a single mistake meant death, and a single compromise meant the betrayal of the nation. The name Sablayan is forever etched in the annals of law enforcement for orchestrating what remains the largest heroin seizure in Philippine history. As the Commanding Officer of NARCOM at NAIA, he executed a masterclass in "Controlled Delivery Operations."07 THE SILENT SHIELD OF THE REPUBLIC: Col. (UEAAI) at the University of the East – Manila Campus.
