Brief History Around 1924, Alonzo Austin Daughtry (1896- 1952) came under the influence of Bishop Marcelino da Graca, commonly called Bishop Grace or “Sweet Daddy Grace,” Founder of The House of Prayer for All People. Alonzo was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost, and in the latter part of the same year, he felt the call to the Ministry. In 1927, Alonzo was sent to Augusta to pastor The House of Prayer there. Through his ministry, multitudes were saved and filled with the Holy Ghost. But with the growth of The House of Prayer across the country, there emerged a tendency to exalt Bishop Grace above that which was normal. At a 1929 service, reading from I Corinthians 1:12-15, Daughtry tried to correct this tendency while it was still in its early stages. His lesson centered around the Lordship of Jesus Christ and not ascribing divine prerogatives or positions to any man. Some felt that Daughtry had committed the unpardonable sin by questioning the authority of Bishop Grace, but others shared his concern. Together, they left The House of Prayer and founded The House of the Lord Church on the Mount. In 1930, the Church was incorporated and the congregation purchased land at the corner of Tenth and Perry Streets in Augusta, Georgia. God blessed the Church wonderfully so that it grew, and spread to neighboring cities. Around 1942, Bishop Daughtry came north and In 1952, a desperately ill Alonzo placed the responsibility of the Church in the hands of Elder Inez Conry (1897-1977), whom he had ordained a few years earlier. Elder Conry served as our National Presiding Minister for eight years. founded churches in Harlem and Brooklyn, New York. In 2019, Rev. Daughtry relinquished his role as Presiding Prelate and Rev. Leah Daughtry became the second woman and fourth Presiding Prelate who continues to lead the House of the Lord Churches with prayers and passion. Under the leadership of Reverend Herbert Daughtry, The House of the Lord has continued its legacy as a “beacon on the hill,” a sterling example of faith in action, living the Scripture: “be ye not hearers of the word only, but doers also...” In 1958, in fulfillment of his father’s prophecy, Herbert Daniel Daughtry (1931-), the fourth son of Bishop Alonzo Daughtry, was ordained and installed as Pastor of the Brooklyn church. Approximately one year later, he became the Church’s third National Presiding Minister, in which capacity he still serves. During his tenure, the Church has established congregations in various cities in Georgia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and North and South Carolina, and the District of Columbia.

Daughtry Presiding Prelate The House of the Lord Churches Greetings To the Delegates of the National Women's Conference of The House of the Lord Churches, Greetings in the matchless name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! It is my great joy to welcome you to this conference. Whether you have been part of this fellowship for decades or have joined us for the very first time — daughter and elder, member and friend, the seasoned saint and the seeking guest — you belong here, and you are an answer to prayer. The world does not need a timid church of timid women. It needs you — Spirit-filled, clear-eyed, and on fire with the love of God and the demands of justice. Our theme this year is no accident of phrasing. We are summoned to be Women of God — Aware, Aligned, Anchored, and Living with Great Expectations. Each word is a charge. So expect much, beloved. Expect breakthrough where you have known barriers. Expect courage where you have known fear. Expect this gathering to send you home aware, aligned, anchored, and unafraid. In faith and expectation, Bishop Leah D. Daughtry Welcome. Let us expect great things together. The House of the Lord Churches To be Aligned is to stand together — across generations, across denominations, across every line drawn to divide us. The grandmother and the granddaughter are bound by one purpose and one Spirit. Our alignment is our strength; division has always been the enemy's oldest strategy. To be Aware is to refuse the comfort of looking away. We gather in a season when hard-won protections are being unmade in real time — when the Supreme Court's ruling in Louisiana v. Callais has weakened the Voting Rights Act and emboldened those who would silence our voices through redrawn maps across the South. The woman of God does not flinch from the truth of her times. She studies it, she names it, and she prepares. And to live with Great Expectations is to take God at His word. Paul reminds us that He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us (Ephesians 3:20). That power is not theoretical. It is the same power that brought us from where we were to where we now stand — and it is more than enough for all that lies ahead. To be Anchored is to know whose we are when the winds rise. We are not anchored in the headlines, the polls, or the fears of the hour. We are anchored in the unchanging God who carried our mothers and who will carry our daughters. Presiding Prelate

Jeremiah 29: 11 and Jeremiah 17:7,8 are not just verses they are promises of God. made especially with us in mind. And so, as we gather this weekend, we come expecting God to show up in a miraculous way. Ÿ Is There Not A Cause? This rehearsal of past themes reinforces the fact that our theme for this year's Conference/Retreat is even more relevant than we can begin to imagine: Ÿ Pressing In To Greater Purpose, Proclamation, Praise And Power ! Ÿ Sistas, Prepared, Positioned And Pivotal For Such A Time As This! “Women of God Aware, Aligned, Anchored and Living with Great Expectations” Over the many years that our National Department of Women's Work has been charged to plan and implement national women's conferences, our themes have both challenged and inspired us. A few that come to mind are: Ÿ AWARE of who God is who you are and what season you're in Ÿ Women of God - Healthy, wealthy and wise - ready and fit for the race! Ÿ ALIGNED with his word his will his way and his timing Ÿ ANCHORED like that tree printed deep by the rivers of waters which is unmoved no matter what happens around us, AND
The Liberating Power of Pentecost The Evidence Awards Ceremony has been designed to not only acknowledge and celebrate individual success and significant civic and community commitment but to challenge others to gather evidence in their own lives which shall be acknowledged and celebrated by others in the years to come. Undergirded by this premise, the House of the Lord Churches National Department of Women's Work is proud to honor those who have demonstrated in their lives and work the irrefutable and unmistakable evidence that we are more than conquerors with God who makes us victorious. The scripture found in Joshua 4:21 “And when your children shall ask what mean these stones…” reminds us of our responsibility to leave a concrete sign of the path which leads to physical, emotional and spiritual wholeness and liberation and which stands as a reminder that God is faithful. Congratulations to all of the Evidence Awards recipients. May God continue to empower you to set an example that shows the way for generations to come. Conference Preachers experiences while deploying intersectional analysis of race, gender, Renita J. Weems is a biblical scholar, writer, and public intellectual class, and faith to interrogate biblical texts and their interpretive The first African American woman to earn a Ph.D. in Old Testament Studies from Princeton Theological Seminary (1989), Weems has held faculty appointments at Vanderbilt Divinity School, Spelman College, Howard University School of Divinity, and Memphis Theological Seminary. In 2024, she served as the Crump Visiting Professor and Black Religious Scholars Group Scholar-in-Residence at the Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas. She currently serves as Professor of Biblical Studies and Academic Dean at Gammon Theological Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia. Weems' work bridges academy, church, and public square. She has lectured at venues ranging from Chautauqua Institution to university campuses and Black church pulpits, translating biblical scholarship into languages of justice and liberation. Author of the acclaimed “Listening for God: A Minister's Journey Through Silence and Doubt” (1999 Wilbur Award winner), her ongoing work explores African American intellectual life, the early generation of womanist thinkers, and a forthcoming memoir examining how the civil rights and women's movements shaped her commitments to church, scripture, and struggle. whose work has fundamentally shaped womanist biblical interpretation. As one of the field's founding figures, she pioneered methodological approaches that center Black women's unexpected terrain. After graduating from college, she briefly traditions. Katherine is an educational product of the New York City Department of Education. Upon completing her undergraduate work, Katherine returned to her community to engage in the educational profession. During her years of service, as a principal Katherine successfully designed and implemented a school for at risk students, restructured a the schools received local and national accolades including the Katherine has been recognized for her work by New York State as a Title One Distinguished Educator, Yale University as a School Development Program Patrick Daley Award recipient and the Orthodox Jewish Teachers Association as Middle School Principal of the Year. Katherine has completed postgraduate work at Harvard University and received post graduate degrees from Long Island University and Hofstra University (after earning an undergraduate degree from Southern Arkansas University). Katherine completed Christian education studies at New York Theological Seminary. In 2004 she received a doctorate in Christian Education from the International Theological Seminary of California. School Educators National Demonstration School Award. school for the gifted and talented, and upgraded a school that United States Department of Education Title One School and Katherine was recruited by the State Department of Education and Harvard University to mentor principals of low performing schools prior to her first retirement in 2004. Shortly after retiring, Katherine was recruited to serve as a leadership coach for new principals by the nationally recognized New Leaders for New Schools organization. In 2013, Katherine was recruited to compose and lead a team of educators to turn around a failing charter school for boys in East New York. This mission was accomplished with evidence by the school's second year of transition. Effective School designation, and the National Alliance of Black Currently Katherine continues to serve as the Founder and Senior Pastor of New Life Christian Center in Hempstead, New York. During the past thirty-eight years, New Life provided community outreach through frontline services such as its Frank Reilly Sr. Food and Clothing Pantry (now in its seventeenth year of consistent service), Fireproof Family Conferences, Bella House (in shelter for young girls rescued from sex trafficking in Kenya), family counseling, Christian education programs, and character development seminars. housed four thematic mini schools. As a result of her leadership, Katherine was married to Eddie Corbett for almost 56 years before he transitioned. They have three children and two grandchildren. During her tenure as Executive Director of the school, Imagine Me Leadership Charter School demonstrated high progress for which it was repeatedly recognized by the New York State Department of Education as a New York State Reward School. During her 51years of service in education, Katherine's public service included serving as an interviewer on the NYU Long Island School of Medicine Admissions Team and Vice President for the Long Island Conference of Clergy. Dr. Timiney Figueroa New Life Tabernacle Brooklyn, NY Pastor of New Life Tabernacle alongside her brother, Dr. Timiney Figueroa, a native of Brooklyn, NY, is a fifth- generation preacher born to Bishop Eric R. Figueroa Jr., Pastor Timiney continues in Dr. Timiney is steadily breaking barriers and setting new standards for young women in ministry. Formerly well-known for her transformative music has had the honor of ministering with some of gospel music's most prominent artists, including Grammy and Stellar Award winner Bishop Hezekiah Walker and the Love Fellowship Choir, Kurt Carr and the Kurt Carr Singers, among others. In May 2024, Timiney achieved a significant milestone by earning her Doctor of Ministry Degree from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University, further enhancing her calling to serve in both ministry and leadership. Dr. Timiney is the proud mother of three successful and gifted children—Quincy, Miles, and Ella, all of whom serve with her in ministry. She is Principal of On These Things, LLC, which supports a broad array of businesses and organizations with strategic planning, project management, and community engagement activities. Daughtry previously served as Chief of Staff of the Democratic Party, as well as Chief Executive Officer of the 2008 and 2016 Democratic National Conventions, making her the first person in Democratic Party history to hold the position twice. Reverend Daughtry is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and serves on her chapter’ Spiritual Oversight and Connections Committees. She also serves on the Boards of Directors of the Black Church PAC, Higher Heights for America, the National Council of Negro Women, and the Samuel DeWitt Proctor Conference; and the Advisory Board of Global Women’ Forum. She is an Equity Adviser for Sephora, Inc. and is a member of the Rules & Bylaws Committee of the Democratic National Committee. She is a native of Brooklyn, New York and a graduate of Dartmouth College and Wesley Theological Seminary. Daughtry Memorial Day Care Center named In memory of the church's founder Alonzo A. Daughtry. The Center had its beginnings in the Fellowship Hall of the church. In her position as Educational Director, she is at the helm of guiding the direction of the educational journey of the boys and girls whose families entrust them to us. Opening Workshop Presenter Reverend Brenda is a native of Brooklyn, New York and she is a product of the New York City school system. Throughout the years she has served as an Early Childhood Educator, and as a Youth Minister. She is a trained Social Worker who holds a BSW from Adelphi University and a MSSA from Case Western Reserve University. Brenda and her husband, are blessed with four wonderful adult children and their magnificent, God-planned spouses, and they have made us proud grandparents of six amazing grandchildren. Priya DeBerry Throughout her music journey, Priya has developed a strong desire to help others reach their goals and find their true purpose and passion. Priya DeBerry is a multi-genre violinist from Brooklyn, New York, born and raised in Bedford Stuyvesant Brooklyn. Deacon Corine Seabrook Augusta, GA Church and Community Service Professionally, Corine faithfully served the Richmond County Board of Education at Wilkinson Gardens Elementary School for 21 years, making a lasting impact on countless students and families. A devoted servant of God, Corine has spent decades actively serving in her church. She became the first usher at The House of the Lord Pentecostal Church in Augusta, Georgia, where she faithfully remains and serves. She has also served as President of the Usher Board for 47 years, leading both senior and junior ushers with dedication and excellence. In addition, she has served as the tribe of Endurance Leader and is a deacon. Throughout her years of ministry, Corine has sung in the choir, taught Sunday School, participated in noon-day prayer services, visited the sick in homes, hospitals, and nursing facilities, ministered to those in prison, and helped transport church members to services. Corine Seabrook was born on February 19, 1949, and is a proud native of Augusta, Georgia. She graduated from T.W. Josey High School in Augusta, GA in 1967 and has dedicated her life to serving her family, church, and community with unwavering faith and commitment. Corine is the daughter of Lemuel Seabrook, Sr. and Mary Seabrook. She is the proud mother of two children, John Seabrook and Mary Morning, and a loving grandmother to her two grandsons, Zymir and Jaleal Fraley. Her spiritual journey began at the age of 26, when she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior under Pastor Johnny Washington during a tent revival service in Brooklyn, New York. Having lived in the Bronx for 8 years, Corine's faith continued to grow, and in 1989 she received the gift of the Holy Ghost under the leadership of Pastor Francine Pearce in Augusta, GA at The House of the Lord Pentecostal Church. Unparalleled Service Michael Jacocks Brooklyn, NY A Life of Purpose, Service, and Lifelong Learning His first and most influential mentor was his older sister, Gloria, whom he affectionately calls his first heroine. Through her encouragement, he discovered a love of reading, art, and learning. Gifted in both art and science, Michael excelled academically while developing a deep appreciation for world cultures and civilizations. Growing up in Harlem during the 1960s, he embraced martial arts, wrote poetry in the 1970s, and became active in the fight for educational equity. Whether as an artist, student, activist, international traveler, public servant, or church leader, Michael has remained guided by the conviction that every gift entrusted by God is meant to serve others. His life reflects the belief that learning should inspire service, leadership should be rooted in humility, and faith should be expressed through action. Michael often summarizes his calling with these words: "It is an honor to follow God's will by serving His people as a doorkeeper in the House of the Lord." In 2007, Michael joined The House of The Lord Pentecostal Church, where he became a member of The Brotherhood, joined the Usher Board, and was later called to serve as its President. His ministry has expanded beyond his local church through the Church Ushers Association of Brooklyn & Long Island, where he served as chairman and co-chairman of numerous committees, a member of the Board of Directors, and currently as Chaplain of the Church Ushers Association of New York State. Nationally, he serves as Chairman of the Filmore F. Gregory Men's Fellowship Committee of the National United Church Ushers Association of America, Incorporated. Michael Jacocks was born to John Henry Jacocks, Sr. and C. Mae Jacocks, proud natives of North Carolina. The third of fi ve children, he developed an independent spirit that i nspired a lifelong pursuit of knowledge, new experiences, and service to others. Michael continued his education at Hunter College, where he joined the Black Student Union and, together with the Puerto Rican Student Union, participated in the occupation of the SEEK Department to advocate for educational opportunity and institutional change. He later graduated at the top of his class from a Harlem business school. While studying art at a community arts center, Michael joined the United Nations Education for Peace Program, fulfilling a childhood dream by spending five weeks in India. His educational journey later took him to Japan, where he spent nearly three years studying alternative technology. There he encountered "The Brain Drain," a publication that challenged him to use his knowledge for the benefit of his own community. Inspired by that message, he returned to Harlem and dedicated more than four decades to distinguished public service with a New York City agency.
Pastor Beverly Judon Philadelphia, PA Unparalleled Community Service Pastor Beverly originally from Roxboro N.C. eventually moved to Philadelphia in 1978 where she met her future husband, James Judon. James and Beverly were married in 1980. The Judon's became proud parents of two biological children and adopted and raised 3 of their grand children. Pastor Beverly”s favorite scripture is “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful." (1Corinthians 4:2 KJV) Beverly was not always a Pastor. In 1999 she worked alongside of her husband Apostle James Judon in ministry until 2007. In 2007 Beverly Judon answered the call to become the Pastor of Mighty Pentecostal Holiness Church. To further enhance her biblical understanding, Pastor Judon currently attends New Hope Temple School of Evangelism. Due to an accident at a young age, Pastor Beverly suffered lost of memory. Life was difficult and eventually she dropped out of school high school. However, at the age of 60 she was able to attend William Penn High School to receive her high school diploma. While her hobbies are many, she is most passionate about time with family, hands on ministry in the community, and studying the word of God.
Premier Community Organizer Terri Richardson-Sanders Oberlin, OH Today Terri serves as the Community Liaison for the City of Oberlin, leveraging more than three decades of experience in community engagement, coalition-building, and advocacy to advance initiatives that strengthen civic participation. Terri currently serves as staff liaison to the Human Relations Commission and the Lorain County Fair Housing Board. In addition to her role with the City of Oberlin, she also serves on the board of Oberlin Business Partnership and the Mercy Health Community Advisory Council, and is a 2026 inductee of Leadership Lorain County contributing her expertise in community engagement, strategic partnerships, and civic leadership to initiatives that promote equitable access, economic vitality, and community well-being. Understanding that public safety communications was evolving, Terri also began working with local community development corporations providing education related to the emergency response and assistance; delving into community engagement. Terri earned her bachelor's degree in 2004 and joined Case Western Reserve University, where she began graduate studies in Sociology while serving as The Campus Security Communications Manager. She eventually transitioned to project management and community engagement with the Department of Community Dentistry. During this time, she developed expertise in research, community engagement, and program development, leading initiatives that improved outcomes for school-aged children and families across the Greater Cleveland region. She subsequently earned a master's degree in Sociology from Cleveland State University and a second master's degree in Nonprofit Management from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, further strengthening her foundation in organizational leadership, strategic planning, and community impact. Terrance (Terri) Richardson-Sanders, grew up in Oberlin. After graduating from Oberlin High School, she began her career working for the City of Cleveland, serving in the Department of Public Safety, moving on to the Cleveland Police Department where she held several positions related to law enforcement and public safety. Eighteen years after graduating from Oberlin High school, Terri enrolled in Ursuline College and began pursuing a degree in Special Education.
Power and Justice Judge Farah Lillian Emeka Oberlin, OH Farah Lillian Emeka is the newly elected Judge of the Oberlin Municipal Court. As an attorney, advocate, and community leader Judge Emeka's career has been defined by her commitment to fairness, service, and justice. With over 24 years of experience as a licensed attorney, she has dedicated herself tirelessly to ensure that all people regardless of background are treated with dignity and equity in the legal system. Judge Emeka's most important role is wife to her husband Justin, and mother to her two sons, Jabir and King. Judge Emeka's family is the foundation upon which she stands and each day her family speaks life into her and keeps her uplifted so she can continue this important work. A graduate of Seattle University School of Law, Judge Emeka has built her career on the principle that the courts must be accessible to every member of the community. She has handled a wide range of cases with integrity, compassion, and a clear dedication to the public good. Beyond the courtroom, she has served as a mentor to young people and an advocate for initiatives that strengthen families, expand opportunity, and protect the most vulnerable. Judge Emeka has served on many boards and committees. In December, she ended her time as the President of the Oberlin City Schools Board of Education and the Chair of the Lorain County Bar Association Grievance Committee. She still serves as the Vice President of the Family Planning Services Board and a member of the MAD Factory Theatre Co. Board. Judge Emeka is the first black woman to be elected judge in Lorain County as well as the first Oberlin resident, woman, and person of color to be elected judge of the Oberlin Municipal Court. In this new role, Judge Emeka seeks to bring her values of fairness, accountability, and transparency to the bench. She did her undergraduate work at the University of Mississippi and then attended Johns Hopkins receiving an MD, MPH in 1993. She completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Pittsburgh's Magee Women's Hospital in 1997 and then a fellowship in Urogynecology at the University of Michigan. Dr. Howard remained on faculty there until 2001 when she relocated to the Atlanta area where she was in private practice until 2010. She and her family moved to the Middle East where she worked in various leadership positions in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates and Doha, Qatar before returning to the U.S. at the end of 2019. Since joining Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in May 2022 Dr. Howard has improved the quality of the care and expanded services to meet the needs of the Brooklyn community. She has done this by recruiting a team of diverse, skilled providers which included physicians, advanced practitioners, and other staff. They have focused on ensuring Obstetric care is safe and patient centered. She's built several outpatient programs which include the Cervical Cancer Prevention Program, the Abnormal Uterine Bleeding Program, Complex Family Planning, Centering Pregnancy and others. Under her leadership the practice moved to a beautiful location in the Center for Community Health across from the main hospital. They are renovating the postpartum unit so women can have private rooms, opened a new outpatient site in Bay Ridge and brought MFM services to the Bay Ridge Community. In her current role, Dr. Howard has transformed women's health services in Brooklyn by centering quality, access, and community engagement. She is a strong advocate for taking innovative approaches to care delivery and is leveraging technology to deliver equitable care, decrease provider burnout and improve operational efficiency. She has collaborated with colleagues at Weill Cornell Medicine, Cornell Tech and Cornell University to advance women's health through clinical research, product development and improved approaches to clinical operations. She won first place in the Weill Cornell Medicine 2024 Business Plan Challenge competition hosted by the BioVenture eLab. Dr. Howard believes that technology and innovation are the keys to eliminating health disparities if applied appropriately. Dr. Howard has a vision for improving the care of women in Brooklyn and throughout NYC and she will continue to build her team, develop networks, and collaborate with likeminded individuals and organizations to ensure the women of Brooklyn gets the care they deserve right in their own borough.
Visionary Trailblazer Debra Fraser-Howze Harlem, New York Recognizing the vital role of collaboration between faith and medical science, through Choose Healthy Life, Ms. Fraser-Howze established the National Black Clergy Health Leadership Council, co-chaired today by civil rights leader Rev. Al Sharpton (National Action Network) and Bishop Leah Daughtry (House of the Lord Churches). She also ensured CHL's Medical Advisory Board would be guided by preeminent voices in public health, including Dr. Tom Frieden (former Director of the CDC), Dr. Louis Sullivan (former HHS Secretary), and Dr. Donna Christensen (U.S. Congresswoman, 1997–2015). Ms. Fraser-Howze shifted Choose Healthy Life's focus following the pandemic to focus on the underlying health challenges that put so many in the Black community at risk. In partnership with Quest Diagnostics, Choose Healthy Life launched the Blueprint for Wellness in November 2022. The Blueprint for Wellness (BFW) is a comprehensive blood draw health screening that provides participants with a personalized risk assessment. CHL has provided these comprehensive health screenings to more than 35,000 individuals. By addressing the alarming gap in access for uninsured and underinsured individuals, CHL remains an essential force for community wellness. Ms. Fraser-Howze launched CHL in January 2021 hrough the trusted infrastructure of the Black Church in response to the COVID-19 pandemic after seeing the disproportionate death and inequitable health impact it was having on the Black community. Under Ms. Fraser-Howze's visionary leadership, CHL has provided resources to over 120 churches across 13 states. In its first five years, CHL established itself as a vital lifeline for equitable health access in underserved communities, screening over 1 million for social determinants of health, administering and providing over 350,000 vaccines and test kits, while hosting over 10,000 health-focused events. Fueling this success, CHL has secured over $50 million in combined funding and donated services to address health challenges in the Black community. With a career spanning decades, she has been at the forefront of addressing systemic health disparities, advising two U.S. Presidents as a member of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS, co-authoring the landmark Minority AIDS Initiative (MAI), founding the National Black Leadership Commission on AIDS (NBLCA), developing the first FDA-approved in-home rapid HIV test, and leading a national nonprofit. Through her leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to equitable health outcomes, Ms. Fraser-Howze has saved countless lives and transformed public health initiatives in underserved communities.
