Ruth Williams 22 Walker Road Brockworth Gloucester GL3 4HX 27th July 2022 Personal Statement I was born and raised in Gloucester with my three siblings and always had an inquisitive mind trying to understand how things work. I received a good all round education and when making choices within school I opted for the Business Studies route which gave me a good foundation in office practice however shorthand was not my strong point. I went on to further study at University level and gained a Certificate in Management Studies which provided a good basis for my role as Team Leader within Gloucestershire County Council. I have had much experience on systems – crm, SAP, Capita One, GCC Plus, Big Blue Button and am keen to be involved in any new initiative. I worked for a project team developing a crm module suitable for recording farm visits; I was a super-user for SAP (although not used in my current role); attend super-user meetings for GCC Plus and have registered my interest in becoming involved with the digital smarties group – training to begin in September 2022. I was offered employment within an agricultural company as Office Manager and during this time I gained more experience with systems; day to day management of the office to include contracts; collation and preparation of incoming and outgoing invoices for payment, producing payment schedules for field staff and liaising with head office to arrange payment/tracking payments. I believe these essential tasks have given me a good insight into the financial requirements of the Funding Officer position. I have some background knowledge of the Early Years Funding Officer position as I was fortunate to work on the Two Year Pilot Project within Gloucestershire County Council - although I imagine the role has evolved over time. I met with settings to promote the scheme and ensure take up of the funding; I handled all queries from parents/settings; reviewed the materials making sure all were up to date; checked new referrals making sure they met criteria and liaised with settings accordingly and processed funding claims from settings; I was able to attend the meetings and networking events as the Pilot progressed. I was with the Project for approximately 18 months when I was requested to return to my substantive post. I am honest and hardworking with a friendly disposition and a desire to complete any task to the best of my ability. I have built good relationships with schools, parents and colleagues and have day to day interaction, mostly by telephone, but am equally confident face to face. I work well within the team and often support other colleagues as needed, equally I work well alone and have enjoyed the Agile working arrangement as I work well with minimal supervision and have the motivation to fulfil all tasks as required and within deadlines. I am pleased to be continually awarded an ‘exceeds’ on my annual PDR. I hope this gives a good background to ‘me’ but am happy to provide further information as needed.
