2 Presidents Speaks Dear Rotarians, It is a truly thrilling and humbling moment in my Rotary journey to have the privilege of serving as the Silver Jubilee President of the Rotary Club of Pune Lokmanyanagar. This is not merely an office—it is a responsibility enriched by twenty-five years of service, fellowship, and meaningful impact . Being the President during this landmark year carries its own weight, but it also brings immense confidence. I have inherited a strong, vibrant club built by visionary Charter Members, dedicated Past Presidents, and committed Rotarians. They have woven together a beautiful fabric of friendship, trust, service, and leadership. Because of this strong foundation, I begin this journey with gratitude and optimism. As we celebrate our Silver Jubilee, we also look ahead. Every Rotary year offers an opportunity for fresh ideas, meaningful learning, and renewed commitment. This year, we have introduced several innovative programmes that blend tradition with transformation. One initiative that is particularly close to my heart is "Gift Me, Wish Me." Instead of celebrating birthdays only with greetings and cakes, we encourage every member to celebrate by undertaking a small community service project. It is our way of transforming a personal celebration into a gift for society. The joy of giving is, after all, the greatest celebration of life. Inspired by our District Governor's vision, we have also planned a series of Fusion Meetings, creating opportunities to interact, learn, collaborate, and build stronger Rotary relationships across clubs. Such partnerships will enrich our fellowship and expand our collective impact. I am delighted that our members have responded enthusiastically to the call of The Rotary Foundation. Many members made generous contributions on the very day of our Installation Ceremony. This reflects our shared belief that giving to the Foundation is an investment in hope, service, and lasting change across the world. Our flagship wellness initiative, "Healthier Me," has already begun receiving an encouraging response. Healthy Rotarians build healthy families, stronger clubs, and healthier communities. Alongside this, our environmental initiative, "Olkha Bappa," aims to promote eco-conscious celebrations and environmental responsibility. I am confident that this project will grow into a significant movement and inspire many beyond our club. One of the greatest blessings of Rotary is that while we serve the community, we ourselves become the beneficiaries. Every act of service enriches us with something that no material possession can offer—a deep sense of fulfilment, inner peace, and lasting happiness. Time and again, we discover that the satisfaction we receive from touching someone's life far exceeds our expectations. In Rotary, we do not merely change lives; the journey of service transforms us into better human beings. As we embark on this Silver Jubilee year, let us celebrate our glorious past while creating an even brighter future. Let us continue to learn, serve, inspire, and lead with compassion. I sincerely thank every member, Past President, mentor, and well-wisher for your unwavering support. Let us make this Silver Jubilee year a celebration of service, fellowship, innovation, and impact. Together, let us make our Silver Jubilee a year to remember. Best Wishes Rtn. Raj Kumar Bajaj Dear Rotarians Every Rotary year is a new chapter in the continuing story of service. The changeover of leadership is not merely a formal ceremony. It is a beautiful tradition of trust, continuity and commitment. The outgoing leader passes the baton with pride, gratitude and satisfaction, while the incoming leader accepts it with enthusiasm, responsibility and a renewed vision, to grow, serve and create a meaningful impact in the community. The baton may change hands, but the journey of service continues with the same spirit and purpose. Gift Me, Wish Me – A Birthday with a Difference Celebrate your birthday. Share your happiness. Gift a smile. Give back to the community. Birthdays are special occasions. They bring wishes, blessings, happiness and the joy of being remembered. But what if a birthday could become something more? The innovative concept of “Gift Me, Wish Me” offers a beautiful way to celebrate life by giving back to society. Instead of receiving a conventional gift, a person may invite friends and well-wishers to contribute towards a meaningful community project. A birthday can therefore become a day of service. A birthday contribution could help a child receive an education, support a healthcare initiative, provide essential resources to the needy, plant trees, help senior citizens or contribute to any meaningful Rotary project. A Moment of Collective Pride Recognition is always special, but recognition for service is truly meaningful. The Rotary Club of Pune Lokmanyanagar has been honoured with six awards at the District Awards Ceremony. These awards are not merely

10 Guru Purnima — The Light That Guides Us Guru Purnima is a celebration of gratitude—to those who have taught us, guided us, inspired us and helped us discover the person we are capable of becoming .A Guru does not merely impart knowledge. A true Guru awakens wisdom, builds character, inspires confidence and shows us the right path when the road ahead is uncertain. The lessons of a Guru often remain with us long after the classroom has disappeared. In the journey of life, we are fortunate to have many Gurus—our parents, teachers, mentors, colleagues, friends and even the experiences that teach us through challenges and failures. For a Rotarian, Guru Purnima carries a special meaning. Rotary teaches us that the greatest learning is transformed into service. Whatever knowledge, experience or success we have received from our Gurus becomes truly meaningful when we share it with others. A teacher who teaches a child, a mentor who guides a young entrepreneur, a professional who shares knowledge with the next generation, or a Rotarian who reaches out to someone in need—all are continuing the timeless tradition of the Guru. “A Guru lights one lamp; a disciple carries that light forward.” This is also the spirit of Rotary. We receive. We learn. We grow. And then, we give back. On this sacred occasion of Guru Purnima, let us express our gratitude to all those who have shaped our lives—and make a promise to become a guiding light in someone else's journey. May we not only honour our Gurus with gratitude, but honour their teachings through our actions. Happy Guru Purnima! Learn. Lead. Serve. Inspire.Because the best tribute to a Guru is not merely to remember the lessons—but to live them. G

11 For Private Circulation The Four-Way Test of the things we think, say or do is a test used by Rotarians world-wide as a moral code for personal and business relationships. The test can be applied to almost any aspect of life. The test was scripted by Herbert J. Taylor, an American from Chicago, as he set out to save the Club Aluminum Products Distribution Company from bankruptcy. It was later adopted by Rotary International, the global federation of Rotary service clubs. Genesis of four-way test In 1932, Herbert J. Taylor set out to save the Club Aluminum Products distribution company from bankruptcy. He believed himself to be the only person in the company of 250 employees who had hope. His recovery plan started with changing the ethical climate of the company. He explained: The first job was to set policies for the company that would reflect the high ethics and morals God would want in any business. If the people who worked for Club Aluminum were to think right, He knew they would do right. What was needed was a simple, easily remembered guide to right conduct - a sort of ethical yardstick- which all of us in the company could memorize and apply to what we thought, said and did. He searched through many books for the answer to his need, but the right phrases eluded him, so he did what he often did when facing a problem. He turned to the One who has all the answers. He leaned over his desk, rested his head in his hands and prayed. After a few moments, he looked up and reached for a white paper card. Then he wrote down the twenty-four words that changed the history and became synonyms for Rotary evolution. 1. Is it the truth? 2. Is it fair to all concerned? 3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships? 4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned? It is called "The Four-Way Test of the things we think, say or do.“ First testing it out on himself, he realized that the first question, "Is it the truth?" was barely applied in his business' day-to-day operations. After 60 days, Taylor decided to share those principles with the four department directors of his company (each of whom had a different religious faith). Those four directors validated his principles and rolled it out company-wide. In 1932, Taylor's company was on the edge of bankruptcy. Twenty years later, by applying the Four- Way Test, the company repaid its debts and generously paid its shareholders. Adoption of the test by Rotary In the 1940s, when Taylor was an international director of Rotary, he offered the Four Way Test to the organization, and it was adopted by Rotary for its internal and promotional use. Never changed, the twenty-four-word test remains today a central part of the permanent Rotary structure throughout the world, and is held as the standard by which all behavior should be measured. The test has been promoted around the world and is used in myriad forms to encourage personal and business ethical practices] Taylor gave Rotary International the right to use the test in the 1940s and the copyright in 1954. He retained the right to use the test for himself, his Club Aluminum Company, and the Christian Workers Foundation The Four-Way Test
