INDEPENDENCE DAY: A TRIBUTE TO FREEDOM & REPUBLIC DAY: HONOURING THE CONSTITUTION Among the many occasions that animate the school calendar, none evoke greater reverence and collective enthusiasm than the celebrations of Independence Day and Republic Day — two days that commemorate the hard-won freedom and the democratic foundation of our nation. The event is further embellished with cultural performances, and speeches that reflect on the significance of democratic governance, unity in diversity, and constitutional values. Prizes and accolades are often distributed to students who have excelled in academics, sports, and extracurricular pursuits

Teacher’s Day: A Tribute of Gratitude Through Culture and Felicitation Day to Remember The Teacher's Day celebration at Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2, Bhopal, concluded on a note of warmth and gratitude, leaving behind cherished memories for both students and teachers. Through this beautiful confluence of cultural expression and heartfelt felicitation, the Vidyalaya reaffirmed its deep respect for the teaching community, celebrating the timeless truth that teachers are the true architects of a brighter tomorrow.

INTERNATIONAL WOMENS’ DAY -8TH MARCH, 2025 The Vidyalaya celebrated International Women's Day with grace and enthusiasm, honouring the strength, resilience, and achievements of women. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Smt. Madhu Choudhary, Director, Ravindra Bhawan, as the Chief Guest, whose inspiring words illuminated the gathering. In her address, the Chief Guest spoke eloquently on the evolving role of women in society, urging women to embrace confidence, ambition, and a spirit of resilience in every walk of life. The occasion was further marked by the heartfelt felicitation of the lady staff members, whose tireless dedication and contribution to the school were duly acknowledged and celebrated.

EARTH WARRIORS. As part of this endeavour, students participate in a range of activities designed to deepen their understanding of pressing environmental issues such as pollution, deforestation, water conservation, and waste management. Tree plantation drives, cleanliness campaigns, recycling projects, and awareness sessions form the backbone of the initiative, offering students hands-on experience in translating environmental concern into tangible action. Creative avenues such as poster-making, skits, and storytelling are also employed to make learning both enjoyable and impactful, ensuring that the message of sustainability resonates deeply with young minds.

Annual Function "Kalanjali" Celebrated with Grandeur at Ravindra Bhavan The Annual Function "Kalanjali" of the Vidyalaya was organised on 24 April 2026 at Ravindra Bhavan. The event showcased the creativity, talent and hard work of the students. Smt. Shaheeda Parveen graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. She was joined by Smt. Nirmala Budania, Assistant Commissioner, and Shri Vijayveer Singh. Parents, teachers and well-wishers also attended in large numbers. The programme began with the welcome of the dignitaries, followed by the lamp-lighting ceremony and a Saraswati Vandana. The traditional Parent–Teacher Meeting was celebrated as, honouring Parents’ Day , a gathering built not on reports and remarks, but on respect, recognition, and genuine partnership. The school believes their role deserves to be honoured, not merely informed. Where the old meeting often began with a report card, this day began with gratitude. Where parents once sat as listeners, they were welcomed as partners, guides, and guests of honour . Honouring Parents: PTM & Parent Orientation Programme-Celebrating the First Teacher of every child

REGULAR MEDICAL CHECK-UP

Excursions are planned class-wise. Middle classes (6 to 8) typically visit nearby museums, parks, science centres and heritage sites, while senior students (9 to 12) go to industries, research institutions, universities and places of historical or career-related significance. Each trip is led by subject teachers and staff, with parental consent, safety arrangements and first-aid support in place. Students return with first-hand knowledge, sharper observation skills and greater confidence. Many trips are followed by reports, presentations or discussions in class, reinforcing what was learned.

At Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2, experiential learning is an integral part of everyday teaching. Students learn by doing, exploring and reflecting, rather than relying only on textbooks. Through laboratory experiments, math activities, models and projects, debates and role plays, art integration, sports, and hands-on skill-based work, students apply concepts to real-life situations. Educational excursions, exhibitions, workshops and community service extend this learning beyond the classroom. This approach builds curiosity, creativity, critical thinking and teamwork, in line with the vision of NEP 2020 for holistic, competency-based education.

Training and workshops: The Principal and teachers regularly attend training programmes, workshops and orientation sessions organised by KVS Regional Office, NCERT, CBSE and other academic bodies. Each teacher is encouraged to complete the mandatory 50 hours of CPD per year, in line with NEP 2020.

Have you ever asked someone what a school is ? An adult would talk about classes, homework, punishments etc . But , if you ask a student , you’ll hear a completely different story… The world through a student’s eye is painted with curiosity , ambition , and countless stories . Every morning , we step into school carrying not only books but also dreams, fear and a quiet hope of becoming a better version of ourselves . Behind every examination lies perseverance , behind every mistake a lesson and behind every friendship lies a memory that time can never erase .Within these classrooms , we learn far more than formulas and facts - we discover resilience , compassion , and the courage to begin again . One day , the school bell will ring for the last time , and these corridors will become a memory. Yet the lessons , laughter , and dreams nurtured here will continue to guide our journey . Through a student’s eyes, school is not merely a chapter of life ; it is a place where the story truly begins . Mitalee Gavhade X-C 25 THE WORLD THROUGH A STUDENT’S EYE

A journey of a thousand memories can begin with a single opportunity. For me, that opportunity was the NCSC National-Level Competition held in Agra. What began with excitement and nervousnesssoon turned into an enriching experience that I will remember for years to come. I am Avanya when I was in Grade 7 , I got the opportunity to participate in the NCSC National-Level Competition. I had first qualified at the Regional Level in Bhopal, which gave me the chance to represent the Bhopal Zone at the national level. There were a total of 11 participants from the Bhopal Zone. I was the youngest member of our team, which made the experience even more special. At the competition, I met many different people from various places and got the opportunity to learn about their ideas, experiences and projects. Although I did not win the competition, I learned a lot from the other participants. Their confidence, knowledge and dedication inspired me to improve myself. The judges at the national level were much stricter than those at the regional level. Their questions were challenging, and the experience taught me how important it is to be well- prepared and confident while presenting our work. The competition was not only about academics. On the last day, we visited the magnificent Taj Mahal in Agra. We enjoyed ourselves a lot, clicked pictures and spent wonderful time together. It was a memorable way to end an already exciting journey. Although I did not bring home a prize, I came back with something more valuable: new knowledge, confidence, friendships and unforgettable memories. My NCSC journey taught me that competitions are not only about winning; they are also about learning, growing and experiencing something new. Full Name: Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat Born: 19 August 1941, Pavli Village, Garhwal, Uttarakhand Died: 17 November 1962, Nuranang, Arunachal Pradesh Unit: 4th Battalion, Garhwal Rifles War: Sino-Indian War, 1962 The Battle of Nuranang During the 1962 Sino-Indian War, Chinese forces were advancing heavily into Arunachal Pradesh. At Nuranang, Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat was posted with 2 of his comrades: Lance Naik Trilok Singh Negi and Rifleman Gopal Singh Gusain. For 3 days, these 3 soldiers defended their post alone against a huge Chinese force. Jaswant used very clever tactics: 1. Firing from different positions to make the Chinese think a full company was there 2. Local help - A Monpa tribal girl named Sela helped them by bringing water and ammunition 3. They successfully held the Chinese advance for 72 hours On 17 November 1962, a local traitor showed the Chinese the way to their bunker. In the fight, Jaswant and his 2 comrades were martyred. Gallantry Awards 1. Maha Vir Chakra (MVC) - Awarded posthumously. This is India's second-highest wartime gallantry award. 2. Memorial Post - In his honor, the Indian Army named the post "Jaswant Garh" near Nuranang. Even the Chinese Army respected his bravery. After the war, they returned his severed head with a note that read: "This brave man fought very bravely." The "Ghost" Story - Jaswant Baba This is the most famous part. Soldiers believe Jaswant Singh is still on duty. Things reported at Jaswant Garh: 1. Uniform - His uniform is found washed and ironed every morning 2. Muddy Boots - His boots are found muddy after night patrols 3. Tea - Hot tea is found made at night 4. Sightings - Many soldiers claim to have seen him patrolling at night Because of this, soldiers call him "Jaswant Baba". There is a temple dedicated to him at Jaswant Garh. Every new soldier visiting the area pays respect there. His bed, shoes, and food are still kept ready for him. Legacy - Jaswant Garh War Memorial - Located 25 km before Tawang. It is visited by tourists and soldiers. - Sela Pass - Named after the Monpa girl Sela who helped him. - In the Garhwal Rifles, he has technically never been relieved from duty. His name is still on the duty roster. Contributed by Sakshi Pandey Biography of Rifelman JASWANT SINGH RAWAT 28

There is a feeling that comes to us somewhere between our last practical exam and the first board paper. It is a feeling that tells us these are the last few months of the life we have known for over ten years. The corridors that once felt like they were trapping us now feel like they are preserving our memories. The benches that we used to sit on when we were bored now hold the stories of our time in school. The bell that used to signal the end of a class will soon ring for the last time. As Class 12 students we are at a point where we have to make a choice. One foot is still in school and the other foot is stepping out into the world. This world does not have a uniform or a timetable. It is scary and exciting at the time. Nobody will scold us for being late. Nobody will give us a second chance either. The safety of school life is about to be replaced by the world. We have spent years waiting for this moment. No more morning assemblies, no surprise tests, no more rules that tell us to be quiet. Now that it is finally here we are holding on a little tighter. Because what we will really miss is not the school building. It is the people. The friends who became like family to us, the teachers who saw things in us even when we did not the people who cleaned the school and smiled at us every morning the canteen where we laughed and had fun. These are not just memories. They are a part of who we're While we are feeling nostalgic, we also have to deal with the pressure of the present. We have to study for our boards take exams apply to colleges and make our parents happy. All of this can be overwhelming at times. It is important to remember that our marks are a measure of how we did. They do not define who we are. A score on a piece of paper cannot capture twelve years of growing up being strong making friends and discovering things. So we should take a breath work hard but not let the fear of the future take away the beauty of the present. Beyond the corridors of our school there are paths that we can take. Some of us will study science others will study commerce, arts, law start our own businesses or do something that the world has not even thought of yet. That is the amazing part. School taught us to follow a set plan. Life will teach us to create our plan. The discipline we learned while taking notes the kindness we showed to our friends who were struggling the confidence we gained from speaking in front of our class. These are the tools that we will carry with us long after we forget the formulas and definitions. So here is to the bell. Not as an end but as a beginning. Let us walk out of these school gates not with a certificate in our hands but with kindness in our hearts, a fire in our eyes and a promise to make our school proud no matter where we go in the world. The corridors will keep echoing with the footsteps of students but they will always remember ours.. Maybe years later when someone asks us where it all started we will smile and say. In a classroom where we dreamed with our eyes open. Class 12 this is not goodbye. It is the beginning of a longer hello, to the rest of our lives. Name Shivam Ahirwar Class 12 D The Last Bell: Beyond the Corridors We Leave Behind 30

Books may rest upon our desks, But dreams are never standing still, They rise like birds beyond the clouds, Carried by courage, hope, and will. A student’s life is more than marks, More than medals, ranks, or fame, It is the art of growing strong While learning from each loss and gain. The sun does not appear at once, It slowly paints the sky with gold, And every great and shining heart Was once uncertain, shy, and small. So let us walk with heads held high, With honesty in all we do, For the future waits with open doors For minds that dare and hearts stay true. Kittu loved reading books but he had a habit : he always read the last page first the avoid suspense . One day in a dusty corner of the school library he found an ancient book titled "YOUR LIFE ". Curious he opened it, the initial pages accurately detailed his own childhood this school days, and his friends. Anxious to see his future Kittu flipped directly to the final page. To his surprise completely blank as Ashe stated, a glowing line of text slowly appeared at the bottom: {The beauty of life is not in knowing the end, but in writing it yourself. This page is blanking because you haven't lived it yet.} From that day on, Kittu stopped rushing to the end He understood that our future isn't predetermined we write it ourselves though our daily choice and hard work MORAL: The future belongs to those destinations that focus on making the journey meaningful. Priyanshi 6 D STORY: THE BLANK PAGE. It was Diwali, and the streets were glowing with beautiful lights. Purvi looked outside her window and smiled. Then she noticed a nearby slum where everything was dark. She turned to her parents and said, "Can we light a few lamps there too? Festivals should bring happiness to everyone." Together, they packed a few clay lamps, sweets, and storybooks. As they lit the lamps, the children of the slum laughed with joy. The tiny flames brightened not only the streets but also the hearts of everyone present. That night, Purvi realized that the brightest light is not the one that decorates our homes—it is the kindness that lights another person's life. Moral: True celebrations become meaningful when we share our happiness with others. Shaivi Tripathi Class- 8th A A LAMP FOR EVERY HEART 32

Once upon a time, in a small town, lived a bright young boy named Samar. Samar had big dreams. He didn’t just want a normal bicycle; he wanted the fastest, coolest sports bicycle in the world. He dreamed about it every single day. One evening, Samar was talking to his grandfather. "Dada ji," Samar said, "I know exactly what I want in the future. But sometimes, looking at the big target makes me feel nervous. It feels too far away." His grandfather smiled and took out an old wooden bow and a single arrow. He pointed at a small red apple hanging on a tree far away. "Samar, if you want to hit that apple, what is the most important thing?" Samar replied instantly, "The arrow, Dada ji! It needs to be sharp and fast." "No," his grandfather said softly. "The arrow is just a tool. The most important thing is the string of the bow. If you pull the string back with focus, steady your hands, and release it with discipline, the arrow will find its way. The arrow cannot fly on its own; your daily effort is the force behind it." Samar understood the lesson. The big sports bicycle was his target (the apple), but his daily study, his small habits, and his focus were the string. From that day on, Samar stopped worrying about how far the dream was. Instead, he focused on making his daily efforts strong and steady, knowing that his arrow would definitely hit the bullseye one day. Moral: Big dreams are achieved through small, disciplined everyday steps. Shubham Mishra Class 8 -B THE BOY WHO WANTED AN ARROW 33

The chirping of birds, The rustling of breeze, The presence of cars, A sight that I daily see. Busy hallways, Burdened students, Shattered pages on every desk, A sight that I daily see, And daily hope to see. A sight that is weirdly comforting, Weirdly nostalgic, And weirdly finding. The quiet demeanour that I hold, Whenever I'm alone, Sitting on my desk, Gazing out of the window, Squirrels run afar my eyes, The sight that I daily see, behold the greenery, With a hint of warm sunlight, Casting a soft glow on everything, This is a sight that I daily see, And daily hope to see. While the time passes, I let my thoughts wander, They wander and wander, And makes me want, To live in this moment, To cherish this moment, Forever and ever, Because this sight, that I daily see, And daily hope to see, Will become a part of my memories, That only in my dreams, I will get to see. Standing beside my teammates in the Youth Parliament remains one of the proudest chapters of my school life. What the audience saw on stage was only the final act; behind it lay weeks of relentless preparation- long practice sessions, countless revisions and clallenges that tested our patience at every step. Yet it was in that very struggle that the real learning happened. The journey taught me that teamwork is not merely working together, but growing together — that cooperation, coordination, and honest communication can turn individual voices into one strong, united voice. Along the way, we also discovered how our government truly functions, how debates unfold on the floor of Parliament, and how powerful it is to put forward one's ideas with confidence, clarity, and respect. None of this would have been possible without our teachers, whose constant guidance stood behind us like a steady hand. They shaped our speeches, polished our delivery, and lifted our spirits whenever doubt crept in. Their faith in us gave us faith in ourselves. Encouraged by their support, we practised with sincerity and poured our best into every session. Our diligence bore fruit when we were selected for the zonal-level competition at Kendriya Vidyalaya Deen Dayal Upadhyay Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. The zonal round opened our eyes to a whole new world — teams brimming with talent, speaking with remarkable poise and precision. We watched, absorbed, and learned from their confidence, their speaking skills, and their spirit of togetherness. And when our team was declared the winner at the zonal level, the joy we felt made every rehearsal and every effort truly worthwhile. Looking back, I realise the Youth Parliament gave me far more than a victory. It gave me discipline, taught me leadership, and revealed the quiet strength of unity. I carry the lessons of this journey with me always. Some journeys leave memories; this one has left its mark on who I am. A misty morning, deep silence, As if the universe itself had paused. Every hour, every moment frozen, The world’s motion suddenly stopped. The leaves of the trees, still in the air, The bird’s flight, suddenly arrested. The river’s flow, as if it has ceased, The sun’s rays, linger there. But in my mind, a storm arose, Waves of thoughts, a lingering anxiety. Time stopped, but the soul didn't, Countless questions, somewhere in the heart. Is this silence, a sign of peace? Or a deep sign of the future? Is this stillness, a pause in life? Or a new beginning within? A misty morning, deep silence, As if the universe itself had paused. “Nothing in life is to be feared; it is only to be understood.” — Marie Curie When people hear the word Chemistry, their faces often perform a spontaneous reaction. Some glow like sodium in water, while others evaporate faster than ether before the first equation is even written on the board! Many students believe Chemistry is imprisoned inside laboratory walls, guarded by test tubes, pungent acids, and mysterious equations. Yet the truth is delightfully different—Chemistry has quietly occupied every corner of our lives long before we entered a classroom. Our morning itself begins with a series of chemical miracles. The toothpaste wages a microscopic battle against bacteria, soap negotiates peace between water and grease, tea leaves surrender their flavour through extraction, and the humble pressure cooker conducts a practical demonstration of gas laws more faithfully than many textbooks. Even the aroma of hot samosas drifting through the Hockers lane is nothing but volatile molecules faithfully reporting to our noses! Interestingly life itself resembles a giant chemistry laboratory. Friendships are covalent bonds— formed by sharing and strengthened by trust. Some acquaintances resemble noble gases: stable but emotionally unavailable. A few classmates react like sodium—energetic, noisy, and occasionally explosive! Teachers, meanwhile, are catalysts. We may not appear in the final equation of success, but we certainly help the reaction proceed smoothly. Our emotions also have chemical signatures. Dopamine rewards achievement, serotonin spreads contentment, oxytocin strengthens affection, and adrenaline ensures forgotten homework suddenly becomes a matter of great urgency. Food offers another fascinating chapter. The golden crust on freshly baked bread is a masterpiece of the Maillard reaction. The sourness of curd, the fragrance of spices, the fizz in soft drinks, and the freshness preserved in pickles are all triumphs of Chemistry working behind the curtain. Every kitchen, in fact, is a laboratory where mothers and grandmothers perform experiments with astonishing precision—without ever carrying a laboratory manual. Modern civilization owes an enormous debt to Chemistry. Medicines rescue lives, fertilizers nourish crops, polymers make our world lighter, batteries energize our gadgets, and water purification safeguards public health. Solar cells harvest sunlight, biodegradable materials promise a cleaner tomorrow, and green chemistry reminds us that scientific progress must walk hand in hand with environmental responsibility. Chemistry is not merely about creating new substances; it is about creating a better future. Chemistry also teaches life lessons. Balance, patience, proportion and observation are as important in relationships as they are in experiments. A tiny impurity can spoil a reaction, just as a careless word can weaken a relationship. A small act of kindness can become the catalyst for lifelong happiness. Dear students, every breath, every smile, every rainbow after , every meal you enjoy, and every dream you pursue carries the signature of Chemistry. The next time you enter the laboratory, remember—you are not entering a new world; you are discovering the scientific language of the world you have always lived in. Message to young readers Observe, question, experiment and wonder. Chemistry is not merely a subject to pass an examination— it is a way to understand life itself. We wake to a ping, we sleep to a sound, While life's quiet wisdom waits to be found; The screen keeps calling, “Come, look at me!” While silence whispers, “Just learn to be.” A like says, “You matter,” a heart says, “You’re seen,” But can a red icon define what you mean? We count every follower, measure each view, Yet forget that our worth was never made new. Life speaks softly—yet notifications speak loud; One asks us to live, one asks for the crowd. One says, “Feel deeply; let moments unfold,” The other says, “Click it before it gets old!” We capture the sunset, but miss its gold; We film every moment, while moments grow cold. The moon needs no audience, no spotlight, no fame; A flower blooms quietly, yet never seeks a name. So, young hearts, pause when the small screen calls; Look up at the sky, walk beyond its walls. Talk face-to-face, let real laughter ring; Some priceless moments need no posting or sharing. When batteries fade and the signals are gone, What will your heart hold when the screen has moved on? Not likes, not followers, not numbers that gleam— But kindness, courage, memories, and the warmth of a dream. So let notifications inform you, not tell you who to be; Let silence remind you that life can be free. The loudest voice need not come from a screen— Listen to your own heart, and live what is real and serene. R.SUJATHA PGT-ENGLISH THE WORLD OF NOTIFICATIONS 38
