Every person deserves to know that they belong. You Were Made Perfect began as a belief and grew into a movement. At the Autism Society of Greater Akron, we have watched what happens when the Autism community is met not with a list of what needs fixing, but with the full weight of being seen. Something opens. Something settles. This project lives across many spaces: a social story, a coloring book, affirmation cards, a guided journal, and a paper chain installation that has stretched across entire communities as thousands of hands added their link to something larger than themselves. Every piece carries the same heartbeat. Every piece says the same thing: you are made perfect. This story was written for the people you love, but belonging always starts with the ones who hold them. When you read these words together, you are not just sharing a book. You are building the ground beneath their feet. Everyone who holds this story deserves to carry it like a compass: I was made on purpose. I am welcome here. I belong. So do you.
