CURIOSIY NEVER ENDS!!! CURIOSITY NEVER ENDS WE ALL HAVE ENDLESS CURIOSITY. SO NOW LETS SEE SOME CORIOUS QUESTIONS’ ANSWERS! What If Earth Lost Oxygen for a Few Seconds? JUST Imagine waking up one day and suddenly, for a few seconds, oxygen disappears from Earth. The first thing you would notice is that breathing becomes impossible. Since oxygen is essential for every breath we take, humans and animals would instantly feel suffocated. Even a few seconds would feel frightening and unnatural. But something even more dramatic would happen around us. The Earth’s atmosphere is made of about 21% oxygen, and this oxygen also plays a key role in holding many structures together. Without it, the crust of the Earth would weaken slightly, and buildings made of concrete could begin to crack because oxygen is part of their chemical composition. Even more surprising, the sky would change coloUr temporarily. Oxygen helps scatter sunlight, giving the sky its blue coloUr. Without it, the sky would look darker and more unusual. Metals on Earth would also behave strangely. Since oxygen helps form protective layers like rust on iron, sudden changes could disturb how materials react with the environment. The most important point is this: even a short loss of oxygen would not just affect breathing—it would disrupt life, nature, and chemistry all at once. Thankfully, this is only a thought experiment. Oxygen is constantly produced by plants and recycled through the Photosynthesis, keeping Earth stable and alive. This idea shows us how something invisible and simple—like oxygen—is actually one of the most powerful forces that makes life on Earth possible. ONE MORE QUESTION COMES TO MY MIND JUST LOOK UP IN THE SKY YOU CAN SEE THERE IS A GLOWING ROUND THING THERE EVERYONE KNOWS IT’S THE SUN BUT HAVE YOU EVER IMAGINED THAT IF THE SUN SUDDENTLY DISSAPEARED, WHAT WOUOD HAPPEN? What If the Sun Suddenly Disappeared? Imagine one day the Sun suddenly vanishes from the sky. At first, nothing would seem unusual for about 8 minutes and 20 seconds, because sunlight takes that long to reach Earth. After that, Earth would be thrown into complete darkness. Day and night would become the same, and humans would see only the light from stars and artificial sources. Soon, the effects would become more serious. Since the Sun provides heat, Earth’s temperature would start dropping rapidly. Within days, the planet would become extremely cold, and oceans would slowly begin to freeze from the surface. Life on Earth would struggle to survive. Plants would stop Photosynthesis, which means food chains would collapse over time. Without sunlight, most ecosystems would begin to fail. Earth would also stop orbiting as it does today. The Sun’s gravity keeps Earth in its path, so without it, Earth would move in a straight line into space, drifting into the dark universe. However, this situation is only a thought experiment. It helps us understand how the Sun is not just a bright object in the sky—it is the source of light, heat, energy, and life for our entire planet. The disappearance of the Sun would mean the end of life as we know it, showing how deeply everything on Earth depends on it. SIDHARTH RAJEEV

FACTS ABOUT CELLS · Cells are the basic unit of life. Every living organism is made of one or more cells. · The human body contains about 30–40 trillion cells. Different types of cells perform different jobs, such as muscle cells, nerve cells, and blood cells. · Cells are microscopic. Most cells are too small to see without a microscope. · The cell membrane acts like a gatekeeper. It controls what enters and leaves the cell. · The nucleus is the cell's control center. In most plant and animal cells, it contains DNA, which carries genetic instructions. · Mitochondria are known as the "powerhouses" of the cell. They produce the energy cells need to function. · Plant cells have chloroplasts. These organelles contain chlorophyll, which helps plants make food through photosynthesis. · Plant cells have a cell wall. This rigid outer layer provides support and protection, unlike animal cells. · Red blood cells are unique. Mature human red blood cells do not have a nucleus, allowing more space to carry oxygen. · Cells reproduce by dividing. This process helps organisms grow, repair damaged tissues, and replace old cells. · Not all organisms have many cells. Bacteria and some other organisms consist of just a single cell, yet they can carry out all the functions needed for life. · Cells communicate with each other. They send and receive chemical signals to coordinate activities throughout the body. · The largest cell in the human body is the egg cell. It is visible to the naked eye. · The smallest human cells are sperm cells. They are highly specialized for movement and fertilization. · Cells have specialized structures called organelles. Each organelle has a specific function, such as making proteins, storing materials, or breaking down waste. -by arathi unnithan

MICROORGANISMS: Environmental Sustainability Decomposition: Bacteria and fungi break down dead organic matter. Nutrient Recycling: They return carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus to the soil. Nitrogen Fixation: Microbes convert atmospheric nitrogen into usable plant nutrients. Oxygen Production: Cyanobacteria and microalgae produce over half of Earth's oxygen. Food and Biotechnology Fermentation: Yeasts and bacteria produce bread, cheese, yogurt, and alcohol. Preservation: Microbial processes extend the shelf life of various foods. Biofuels: Genetically engineered microbes generate clean energy like ethanol. Waste Cleanup: Bioremediation uses bacteria to clean up oil spills and plastic. Human Health and Medicine Digestion: The gut microbiome breaks down complex fibers and synthesizes vitamins. Immunity: Friendly bacteria block pathogens from colonizing the body. Antibiotics: Penicillin and other vital drugs are derived directly from microbes. Vaccines: Weakened or dead microbes train the immune system to fight diseases. Scientific Summary Microorganisms are the foundational pillars of life on Earth. While some cause diseases, the vast majority are essential for maintaining environmental balance, driving industrial biotechnology, securing food production, and supporting human health. Without them, global ecosystems would completely collapse. BY BHAGATH CHAND

SCIENCE FICTION TIME HAVE YOU EVER IMAGINED ABOUT SCIENCE FICTION HOW AMAZING IT’S IT DOES NOT FEEL REALESTIC BUT CAN IT HAPPEN IN REAL LIFE LET’S FIND OUT Can Humans Live on Mars? For many years, scientists have wondered whether humans could one day live on Mars. Although it is our closest planetary neighbor with conditions that are more suitable than most other planets, living there would still be extremely challenging. Mars has a thin atmosphere, very little oxygen, freezing temperatures, and frequent dust storms. There is no liquid water on the surface, so future astronauts would need to produce oxygen, grow food in special habitats, and recycle water carefully. Despite these challenges, scientists have discovered water ice beneath the Martian surface, making future human missions more promising. Space agencies are also developing advanced spacecraft and habitats that could support astronauts during long stays. Living on Mars would require technology, teamwork, and years of scientific research. While humans cannot live there naturally today, many experts believe that one day we may build small settlements on the Red Planet. The dream of living on Mars reminds us that science is constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible, turning ideas that once seemed like science fiction into future reality. IF YOU HAVE SEEN THE HOLLYWOOD SCIENCE FICTION MOVIE INTERSTELLAR YOU WOULD HAVE SEEN THE BLACKHOLE HOW INTERESTING IT IS AND SCIENTISTS CLAIM BLACK HOLES MORE AMAZING THAN YOU THINK Black Holes: The Universe's Mystery Giants A black hole is one of the most fascinating and mysterious objects in the universe. It is a region in space where gravity is so powerful that nothing—not even light—can escape. Most black holes form when a massive star runs out of fuel and collapses under its own gravity. At the centre of every black hole lies a point called a singularity, where matter is compressed into an incredibly small space. Surrounding it is the event horizon, often called the "point of no return." Once anything crosses this boundary, it cannot escape the black hole's gravitational pull. Although black holes cannot be seen directly because they emit no light, scientists detect them by observing how nearby stars and gas move under their powerful gravity. Some black holes also produce bright disks of hot gas around them before the material falls inside. Black holes may seem frightening, but they play an important role in shaping galaxies and helping scientists understand the laws of the universe. They remind us that space is filled with incredible mysteries still waiting to be explored. The study of black holes shows that the universe is far more amazing—and mysterious—than we can imagine. NOW IT COMES THE MOST INTERESTING TOPIC WHICH IS MY FAVOURITE TOPIC THE TIME TRAVEL LETS EXPLORE THE TIME TRAVEL THEORY Time Travel: Science or Fiction? Time travel has fascinated people for centuries, appearing in countless books and movies. But could it ever become a reality? SIDHARTH RAJEEV

Ribcage A lifeform seeps through the tender bone A tumor or a mutation? I don't know A hole rips open in my chest, the lifeform burst into the white puss of need And it drowns me in it. My ribcage cracks and the pieces are gone Only hollow emptiness where I clawed into my wrist And it bleeds And bleeds And bleeds Until a savior stops it. My salvation A sustaining energy? A syringe? A parasite? I am unsure And it enters my brain. It eats away at my sanity But it keeps me anchored to the shore When the foamy tide submerges my feet, I am pulled away. But it takes up more and more room Seeping into my arteries Breathing Breathing arteries. I fall into a field One that smells of pheromones And I lay there And I float In a cloud of my own bliss I let the oxytocin swallow me Until it regurgitates me back up. Thanvi B VIII B
