1 2 3 4 5 6 7 MUJTALA ABOUT THE PROJECT Srnior Project Mujtala Opera House reimagines the Najdi house as a modern cultural space. The main theatre represents the central courtyard, the heart of gathering, while surrounding areas draw from the majlis, suffah, and murabba‘ to shape spaces of hospitality, transition, and order. Through earth tones, intricate details, and filtered light, the design fuses tradition with modernity, transforming the spirit of the Najdi home into a stage for collective cultural expression. Sustainability in MUJTALA Mujtala employs passive sustainability strategies inspired by Najdi architecture. Vertical shading fins on the east and west façades reduce heat gain and glare while filtering daylight, and a high-mass envelope of concrete and stone helps stabilize indoor temperatures. These elements lower energy demand while grounding the building in its climatic and cultural context.
