Books and stationery for the Sleaford Club’s Kenya project have now been sorted and packed, and are scheduled to be dispatched this month..The club also decided to purchase two Trade- Aid boxes. Trade Aid is a wonderful project run by the Rotary Club of Grantham Kesteven, providing specially designed toolkits to people and communities affected by disaster or hardship. HOW DO YOU FEED 3,000,000 CHILDREN EVERY DAY? – Well, a charity supported by ROTARY does that every school day! Globally, 3m children receive a Mary’s Meal. For the price of a £4 meal deal, you can provide a nutritious school meal to 40 HUNGRY CHILDREN – encouraging them into the classroom, where education can be their ladder out of poverty. The Rotary Club of Towcester is raising awareness of Mary’s Meals through a summer book swap, helping provide school meals and hope, to children worldwide. Each box contains new tools and equipment tailored to a specific trade — from builders and carpenters to mechanics, tailors, teachers and handymen. With over 1,300 boxes already delivered to communities in dozens of countries, Trade Aid helps people rebuild their livelihoods, learn new skills and become self-sufficient. Huntingdon Cromwell Book Donation Since launching its global polio campaign in 1985, Rotary has contributed more than $2.1 billion towards the fight against polio, helping reduce cases worldwide by 99.9%. Did you know, the famous Mary Poppins song “A Spoonful of Sugar” was inspired by the polio vaccine, after songwriter Robert Sherman’s children told him how their vaccine was given on a sugar cube. Many thanks to our Ramsay club members for that little gem Impact by Rotary Club of St Neots raised £602 for Magpas Air Ambulance through a charity quiz night, followed by a visit to the charity’s Alconbury Weald headquarters. Members learned more about its vital emergency medical work and how their fundraising will help support this life-saving service. Thongsley Fields Primary school are the grateful recipients of 223 donated reading books suitable for primary age children. They were delivered by Rotarians Lynne Stone, Helen Claydon and Rotary Friend Trevor Stone. Enjoy lots of reading children!A Spoonful of Sugar
The Rotary Club of Alford & Mablethorpe has received an urgent appeal from fellow Rotarians in Kyiv, to help children in the previously occupied town of Makariv, many of whom have suffered the trauma of war. We are raising funds to create a sensory room at Makariv’s pre-school, providing a safe, nurturing space, where children can begin to heal and rebuild their confidence through therapeutic play and sensory activities.Visit the club website to get the full story and learn how to donate: donate.https://www.amrotary.org.ukis collecting and sending wheelchairs, hoists and crutches to people in Ukraine whose lives have been affected by the ongoing war. Thanks to a generous donation from Uppingham Rotary Club, we were able to provide new dance shoes for the children, along with essential food supplies. Peterborough Ortons Rotarians Helping Out has hosted its annual Technology Tournament at Kesteven and Sleaford High School for the fifth year, bringing together 100 students, in 25 teams from five local secondary schools. STEM skills were put to the test, designing and building a weight-powered vehicle to travel up a slope. The Foundation category was won by Sir William Robertson Academy, while Kesteven and Sleaford High School took the Intermediate title. A busy morning at Crocus Café! It was great to lend a hand this mornning at the Crocus Café in Nottingham — a wonderful not-for-profit community café and a real local institution. With locally sourced and fair-trade products, great food and plenty of plant-based choices, it’s simply a lovely place bringing people together. The Rotary Club and the Interact Club of the Deepings The Square Hole Club, run twice a month by Dementia Support South Lincs, who support people with dementia in South Lincolnshire whilst giving carers a well deserved break. Dinner at China TownRotary Youth Exchange What happens when eight young people from eight countries spend 10 days exploring England together? New experiences, cultural discoveries and friendships that can last a lifetime! This summer’s Central England Youth Exchange Camp welcomed young adults from Sweden, Taiwan, Croatia, Turkey, Italy, Romania, Slovenia and Hungary. And they explored far more than the usual tourist attractions. Their adventure took them from historic castles and magnificent cathedrals to peaceful canals and national parks, before heading to London for a packed city experience. Made possible by Rotary clubs across Central England, the camp shows how sharing experiences can bring young people — and communities — closer together. A day at Staunton Harold Sailability Trust with Rotarians from Ashby de la Zouch Castle, who presented a £1,500 cheque to the charity. Friendships Without Borders
From a grubby chicken coop to a beautiful sensory garden at St Peter’s School. Market Bosworth Rotary Club - always active in the community. Action in the community A box may be small, but its impact can be much more. Box Clever brings Rotary clubs and communities together, to create homes for wildlife — from bird and bat boxes to hedgehog shelters and insect hotels. The challenge for 2026/27: build or distribute at least 300 wildlife boxes across the District, providing safe places to nest, roost, hibernate and shelter while supporting local biodiversity. Hatton Club held their first Rotary scavenger hunt, with over 20 people taking part in a fun two- hour challenge around the local area and beyond. Teams searched for various objects and locations, sending photos back to base to score points and determine the winners. Scavengers, all of them For several years, Lutterworth Wycliffe Rotary club has supported the Latvian community by litter-picking throughout its three-day Summer Solstice Festival at Catthorpe Manor, followed by two days of clean-up. With almost 5,000 visitors attending, 12 Rotary volunteers worked tirelessly across the site, completing a final deep clean and leaving the grounds in pristine condition, despite the intense June heat. Members of Ashby Castle Rotary Club visited Kelham Bridge nature reserve, enjoying a guided walk with the reserve officer and volunteers. Having learned that better security was needed to protect the wildlife, the club was pleased to donate £1,000 towards new gates.Out and about
