ESPPLMECZET HASSANA ENANY’EGO • położony na Środkowym Korytarzu, tuż nad Morzem Czerwonym • zbudowany w 1985 roku, meczet jest arcydziełem nowoczesnej architektury islamskiej, wzorowanym na osmańskiej „Gwieździe Bagdadu” • termin „Gwiazda Bagdadu” odnosi się do jednego z najsłynniejszych motywów islamskiej sztuki geometrycznej – ośmioramiennej gwiazdy (oktagramu) • jego najważniejszą cechą jest ogromna, pokryta złotymi płytkami kopuła, która lśni z daleka w słońcu • jego budowniczym był szejk Hassan Enany (lub Anani), przedsiębiorca i mecenas z Dżuddy MEZQUITA HASSAN ENANY • Situada en el Paseo Marítimo Central, junto al mar Rojo. • Construida en 1985, la mezquita es una obra maestra de la arquitectura islámica moderna, inspirada en la “Estrella de Bagdad” otomana. • El término “Estrella de Bagdad” hace referencia a uno de los motivos más célebres del arte geométrico islámico: la estrella de ocho puntas (octagrama). • Su rasgo más destacado es la enorme cúpula cubierta de azulejos dorados, que brilla a la luz del sol desde lejos. • Fue construida por el jeque Hassan Enany (o Anani), empresario y mecenas de Yeda. 19

71ENG AL FAISALIAH TOWER • an iconic, pyramid-shaped skyscraper in the Olaya district, designed by Norman Foster and built in 2000 • located along King Fahd Road with a shopping mall (Al Faisaliah Center), offices and a hotel • it was the country’s first skyscraper, 267 meters high, 44 floors (30 of which are offices) • currently the 7th tallest building in Riyadh • with an observation deck at exactly 200 meters above sea level, located directly under the gilded glass globe (the Globe) at the top of the tower • its most spectacular feature is the 24-meter-diameter gilded glass globe located near its peak • it houses an exclusive, three-story restaurant that offers a 360-degree panorama of the city • the globe is covered with 655 glass panels • the tower is accessible from King Fahad Library station, which is located on Metro Line 1 (blue line) • the station is directly connected to Al Faisaliah Mall, located in the tower complex
