After midnightA Modern Retelling Of Cinderella
Once upon a time, in a beautiful kingdom, lived a kind- hearted young girl named Cinderella. After the passing of her beloved parents, she was left in the care of her cruel stepmother and two selfish stepsisters. They filled her days with endless chores, leaving little time for anything else. Yet, no matter how difficult life became, Cinderella greeted each day with kindness, hope, and quiet determination. Hidden beneath her apron was a small sketchbook where she filled every empty page with elegant shoe designs, dreaming that one day she would create something truly extraordinary.1 Once upon a time,
One morning, a royal invitation arrived at the house. The King and Queen were hosting a grand ball, and every young lady in the kingdom was invited. Cinderella's heart filled with excitement as she imagined attending. She carefully finished all her chores and asked her stepmother if she could go. "A servant has no place at a royal ball," her stepmother replied coldly. As her stepsisters left dressed in their finest gowns, Cinderella stood by the window and watched the carriage disappear into the distance, believing her dream had slipped away. 2 The Royal Invitation
Just then, a shower of sparkling light filled the room as the Fairy Godmother appeared. With a wave of her wand, she transformed Cinderella's worn dress into a breathtaking gown and placed a pair of shimmering glass heels at her feet. Cinderella slipped them on and smiled. "They're beautiful," she said softly, taking a few careful steps, "but... they're not very comfortable." The Fairy Godmother blinked in surprise. "Not comfortable? No one has ever questioned my designs before!" "They're stunning," Cinderella replied with a gentle smile. "I just have a few ideas." The Fairy Godmother grinned, rolling up her sleeves. "Well then... let's add a little more magic."3 A Little More Magic
Together, Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother sketched, adjusted, and reimagined every detail until the glass heels were as comfortable as they were beautiful. When Cinderella slipped them on once more, they fit perfectly. Before she left, the Fairy Godmother smiled and said, "Remember, after midnight, the gown, the carriage, and every spell will disappear..." Cinderella looked down at her sparkling heels. "...except these?" she asked. "The shoes will remain," the Fairy Godmother replied with a knowing smile. Cinderella beamed. "Maybe that's because we created them together." "Perhaps," the Fairy Godmother winked. "Now hurry, your story is waiting." 4 The Perfect Pair
5The palace sparkled with music and laughter as Cinderella stepped inside. As she walked across the grand ballroom, Prince Charming noticed the delicate sound of her footsteps. "Excuse me," he said with a smile. "Your shoes... they sound like glass." Cinderella laughed softly. "That's because they are." The Prince looked down in amazement. "They're actually made of glass?" "They are," she smiled. "They're one of a kind." Curious, the Prince spent the evening talking with Cinderella about craftsmanship, creativity, and dreams. Before either of them noticed, the palace clock began to chime. The Royal Ball
The first stroke of midnight echoed through the palace. Remembering the Fairy Godmother's warning, Cinderella hurried towards the grand staircase. As she rushed down the marble steps, one of her glass heels became caught between the old carpet on the stairs. She tried to free it, but there wasn't enough time. With one last glance behind her, Cinderella hurried into the night, leaving the beautiful shoe behind. The Prince picked it up carefully and whispered, "Who could have designed something this extraordinary?" 6 After Midnight
The next morning, the Prince travelled across the kingdom carrying the mysterious glass heel. He visited shoemakers, glass artists, and designers, asking each one the same question. "Did you create this?" Everyone admired the craftsmanship, but no one recognised it. Finally, the search led him to Cinderella's cottage. She welcomed him inside and showed him the little sketchbook she had carried for years, filled with pages of original shoe designs. The Prince smiled. "I wasn't searching for a princess," he said. "I was searching for the designer."7 The Search
Together with the Fairy Godmother, Cinderella shared her dream of creating elegant shoes that were as comfortable as they were beautiful. The Prince listened carefully before asking, "What will you call your brand?" Cinderella thought for a moment before smiling. "GlassStep." The Prince nodded. "I think the whole kingdom will remember that." With the Fairy Godmother's craftsmanship, Cinderella's creativity, and the Prince's support, GlassStep was born. 6 A Dream Takes Shape
GlassStep soon became known throughout the kingdom for creating shoes that combined beauty, comfort, and craftsmanship. People travelled from far and wide to wear Cinderella's designs, each pair inspired by the very first glass slipper. Working side by side, Cinderella, the Fairy Godmother, and the Prince discovered that the greatest magic wasn't found in spells—it was found in imagination, collaboration, and believing in one another. And so, the story everyone thought ended at midnight had only just begun.7 Happily Ever After
