CASA 3 Classroom Connection 13th - 17th July 2026

CLASSROOM CONNECTION CASA 3 Dear Parents, This week, we explored the fascinating world of nocturnal animals. We learned that nocturnal animals are active at night and rest during the day. We looked at examples such as the kangaroo rat, sugar glider, owl, jerboa, and fennec fox. We learned about the special adaptations that help these animals survive, including excellent night vision and ears that can move in different directions to detect even the faintest sounds in the dark. Some nocturnal animals also hide from predators, avoid the hot daytime temperatures, or hunt for food at night. To reinforce our learning, we read the story Night Animals and sang the “Daytime and Nighttime” song. Next week, we will continue exploring the amazing adaptations of nocturnal animals and how these help them survive in their habitats. See you on Monday! Dilini

Hello Parents, This week, we began our new topic, “Animals in the Dark,” and explored nocturnal animals. We discussed their characteristics, adaptations, food, and habitats in detail. Nocturnal animals are active at night and sleep during the day. They have special abilities, such as night vision, excellent hearing, and an amazing sense of smell, which help them hunt and stay safe in the dark. We also discussed why some animals are nocturnal. They are awake at night and sleep during the day to stay safe from predators, avoid the heat of the sun, and find food more easily. Many nocturnal animals have special body parts, such as large eyes, large ears that can move in different directions (for example, jerboas, fennec foxes, and sugar gliders), and whiskers that help them sense their surroundings. We read the book Night Animals and sang the song “Daytime and Nighttime.” In the coming week, we will discuss the topic “Nocturnal Adaptations.” Have a lovely weekend! CLASSROOM CONNECTION CASA 2Hello, This week, we explored the exciting topic of Animals That Love the Dark. The children learned that nocturnal animals are awake at night and sleep during the day. We discussed how some animals are nocturnal because nighttime is the best time for them to find food. The cooler temperatures help keep them comfortable, and the darkness can make it easier to catch insects or other prey while avoiding predators. The children also discovered the amazing adaptations that help nocturnal animals thrive at night. Many of these animals have special body parts that help them move around in the dark, such as large eyes that help them detect danger, ears that can move in different directions to pick up sounds, and whiskers that help them sense objects around them. During the week, we read Tiddler, Maisy's Bus (from both Sanaa and Ivaan's book collection), and Night Animals. We also had fun singing Daytime and Nighttime. Over the coming weeks, we will continue discovering how these amazing animals use their special features—such as keen eyesight, excellent hearing, and a strong sense of smell—to find food and stay safe in the dark. Through stories, songs, crafts, and hands-on activities, the children will learn about a variety of fascinating nocturnal animals. See you on Monday! Hazel
