October 2025 I’m Yağız Captain manage the ship in October.The Alpha’s Ark is currently located at the Istanbul point. This month,The five monthly captains are elected in an exciting and contentious election. We wrote texts about our October 29th Republic Day at our school and others wrote about Halloven on STUDENTS CORRESPONDENCE page Finally, we built and decorated our ship with lovely details in Thinkercad App is a web 3.0 tool. We are looking forward to the student meeting.The student meeting has been postponed until November due to some circumstances.
NOVEMBER 2025When the ship docked at the Ribeira quay in Porto, Portugal, the captain. yAGIZ excellently fulfilled the objectives set for this first voyage. He passed the responsibility to me, Captain Flora, who continued the journey to the Sodré quay in Lisbon, accompanied by sailors from 5 European countries: sailors from Turkey, Poland, Ukraine, and Portugal. The time has come to set sail, time to raise anchor and navigate the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Sailing smoothly through the cold waters, influenced by the North Atlantic Current, I, Captain Flora, offered my sailors lemongrass tea. Suddenly, I realized that my sailors were unfamiliar with this plant. While her sailors enjoyed this relaxing and heartwarming drink, Captain Flora decided to create a library on board. All the sailors participated in building the library, using recyclable materials such as crates and pallets to create the shelves, tables, and benches, which Sailor Afonso designed on his tinkercard. With the library ready and the voyage proceeding calmly and without confusion, Captain Flora noticed that her crew was demotivated and joyless. They still had several miles to sail and the sun continued to shine in the skies between mainland Portugal and Madeira Island; she needed to be creative in keeping her sailors occupied. While holding the helm of her ship, Captain Flora's thoughts wandered to the world of plants, questioning how it was possible that her sailors were unaware of the value of plants in the planet's sustainability. Even more serious was discovering that many of her sailors were unaware that many of these native plants from their countries were endangered. They created an encyclopedia of endemic plants, also called native plants, from the five nationalities of the ALPHA'S ARK crew.
DECEMBER 2025 Captain RissolI received the mast from Captain Flora at the bustling docks of Lisbon, where the salty air and crashing waves promised adventure. The sailors, filled with excitement, were eager to set sail across the vast Atlantic Ocean. Before our journey began, we gathered for an online meeting with the entire crew, answering a questionnaire about the sustainability of our planet—our mission as important as the voyage itself. Spirits were high as the sailors embraced every moment of the journey. We captured countless photos to preserve in our album, each one a memory of discovery. Along the way, we explored and researched the animals from the many countries connected to our route, uncovering the wonders of the natural world as we sailed onward.

FEBRUARY 2026 Captain TOSIA Hi! I’m Antosia and I’m the captain of a group from Poland. Here’s what we did in February. We started the month with an environmental action — our whole group went out to collect trash, and we even took a photo together to document the moment. Later, we used some of the collected materials to create new items, giving the trash a second life and showing how creativity can support ecology. One of our friends also designed a virtual exhibition room in Tinkercad, where all our creations can be displayed. It was a fun way to combine real‑world action with digital design. MARCH 2026 Captain IanisWhen the ship docked at Port of Constanța, Captain Ianis had successfully completed his mission, fulfilling all the established objectives. The command was then passed to me, Captain Ianis from Romania, determined to continue the journey toward new horizons, accompanied by sailors from other European countries: Turkey, Poland, Ukraine and Portugal. It was March — the month when nature in Romania begins to awaken — and the symbol of the Mărțișor reminded us of the deep connection between people and nature. I felt it was the perfect time to set sail on a new adventure — a mission dedicated to saving our planet. We raised the anchor and began navigating the waters of the Black Sea, guided by the cool winds of early spring.
MARCH 2026 Captain IanisAs we sailed through the waves, I offered my crew linden tea, a plant well known in Romania for its calming properties. To my surprise, many of them were unfamiliar with it. That was the moment I decided to transform our ship into a symbol of hope: we built a small floating garden using recycled materials — old crates and reclaimed wood. We planted seeds of traditional Romanian plants such as mint, chamomile, and basil, each carrying its own role in maintaining nature’s balance.As the journey continued, I told the sailors about unique places like the Danube Delta, a true treasure of biodiversity, but also about the dangers threatening such fragile ecosystems. I realized, with concern, that many of them were unaware of how important these natural areas are for the health of our planet.To engage them, I organized activities on deck: each sailor created a nature journal, writing down plants they discovered and ideas for protecting the environment. Slowly, the crew began to understand that saving the planet is not just a mission, but a shared responsibility.
MARCH 2026 Captain IanisOn the clear March nights, under the gentle glow of the moon, I would look at the sky and think about the future. The ship was no longer just a vessel — it had become a symbol of change. Our journey continued, but one thing was certain: with every wave, we were getting closer not only to our destination, but also to a cleaner, greener, and more responsible world.
APRIL 2026 Captain VolodymyrHello! My name is Volodymyr, and our “Ark” is now in beautiful Ukraine. We’re happy to share our updates as our project is reaching its final stage. Throughout this time, international teams have been actively collaborating and creating meaningful and engaging content. Students wrote about Easter traditions on the correspondence page, sharing cultural features of their countries. We also created original poems and combined them into a joint video with expressive reading. The Turkish team prepared an e-brochure about our project, which became a bright summary of our cooperation. The Ukrainian team, in turn, worked on creating a “party room” - a space for interactive communication, celebration, and informal connection among participants.
APRIL 2026 Captain VolodymyrAs part of the Ukrainian team’s work, an online meeting with a well-known eco-educator and zoologist was held. During the session, we discussed endangered and rare species of animals and plants, natural landscapes, and the importance of nature reserves for biodiversity conservation. This meeting became an inspiring and valuable part of our project. At this stage, both students and teachers are completing the final evaluation of the project, reflecting on their experience and achievements. MAY 2026 Captain Yağızr Hello I'm Captain Yağız. After a long journey, the ship has returned to Istanbul. Alpha's Ship returned to Istanbul after Portugal, Ankara, Romania, and Ukraine. Alpha's Ship was in Istanbul in October 2025. Then, the participating captains and crew took on the task of managing and working on the ship in their respective cities for a month each. In May, we celebrated eTwinning Day on board, organized by the Ukrainian team. Because our schedules didn't align, we held our final meeting in two separate groups on two different days. We received a lesson from Ms. Virtual about environmental problems and solutions. We also played Kahoot on the same topic. We talked to each other. We're a little sad to see the project come to an end. We were excited because we learned new things and met peers from different cultures throughout the project. We look forward to working on another eTwinning project.
