As the Community Quarterback for the Renaissance West community, we bring residents, partners, and resources together to create pathways to stability, opportunity, and long-term success.OUR WORK IS CENTERED AROUND FOUR KEY PILLARS:CRADLE-TO-COLLEGE EDUCATION Supporting young people from early learning through long-term success. 2025 in Action: Partnerships with Dixon Academy and RWSA strengthened educational opportunities for youth in our community.MIXED-INCOME HOUSING A stronger neighborhood where families can live, grow, and thrive. Looking Ahead to 2026: RWCI will launch the First-Time Home Buyers Club to help residents navigate the path to homeownership.COMMUNITY WELLBEING A healthier, more connected community through programs and partnerships that support whole- person wellness. 2025 in Action: Through our Life Navigation Program, we supported residents with personalized guidance, goal setting, and access to services that help families move toward greater stability and well-being.ECONOMIC VITALITY Creating pathways to education, careers, and greater financial stability. 2025 in Action: Future Forward and CPCC partnerships connected residents to college, career readiness, and workforce opportunities. Renaissance West Community Initiative is proud to be a 2025 United Neighborhoods Partner with United Way of Greater Charlotte. Since the program’s inception in 2017, RenWest has served as a “community quarterback” organization. Thanks to the funding we receive from United Way, we partner with the following organizations to expand services within our community:
| WWW.RWCI.ORG | INFO@RWCI.ORG OUR STORY Once characterized by run-down homes, high crime, and struggling schools, the Boulevard Homes neighborhood in Charlotte, NC was known for hardship. But a group of visionary leaders saw more than what was — they saw that the people there were worth fighting for. With courage, collaboration, and a belief in opportunity for all, they reimagined the community as a place where families could build brighter futures. Their vision became the Renaissance West Community Initiative (RWCI), founded on the Purpose Built Communities model to unite housing, education, wellness, and economic vitality. Today, that vision thrives across a vibrant neighborhood of over 1,300 residents, where children learn in high- performing schools, parents pursue new career paths, and generations grow stronger together. Tiffany Capers, Chief Executive Officer Dear Friends & Neighbors, As we reflect on 2025, we are grateful for another year of progress, partnership, and community impact at Renaissance West Community Initiative. Throughout the year, we remained focused on helping our neighbors and families access the resources and opportunities they need to move forward. We saw residents continue their education, explore new career opportunities, strengthen their financial stability, and work toward long-term goals. Our children continued to grow and learn through the Howard Levine Child Development Center and Renaissance West STEAM Academy, while Life Navigation remained a key source of support for families across the community. As we look ahead, we are excited to launch Future Forward in 2026. This new program will help connect our neighbors to education, career pathways, workforce opportunities, and personalized support designed to help them build greater financial stability and upward mobility for themselves and their families. We are thankful for our neighbors, staff, volunteers, donors, and partners who make this work possible. As you read the pages ahead, we invite you to celebrate the progress of 2025 with us and look ahead to an even stronger future for Renaissance West. 704 Renaissance West neighbors engaged with RWCI through programs, services, and community activities.“I’m working hard to make a better life for me and my family. Having RWCI in my corner has helped me find resources, stay on track, and keep moving toward a better job and more stability.”– Teasha H. RWCI Resident 6 RWCI-supported seniors graduated high school and moved forward into college or employment. 183 Youth engaged with RWCI through educational programs and extracurricular activities. 100% of RWCI youth participating in our early education partnership were prepared for kindergarten. 60% of Life Navigation participants maintained or gained new employment throughout the year. 180 neighbors received free health services through our Atrium Health Mobile Unit partnership. 100% of our neighbors maintained stable housing and avoided eviction with support from Life Navigation.GUIDING NEIGHBORS TOWARD SUCCESS GUIDING NEIGHBORS TOWARD SUCCESS 2025 OUTCOMES2025 OUTCOMES
FUTURE FORWARD | WWW.RWCI.ORG | INFO@RWCI.ORGBUILDING A PATH FORWARD “I come from a background where it was very violent, and I’m grateful to now have a community like Renaissance West that helps me navigate life—from college and career resources to mental health support and so much more. Future Forward is RWCI’s next step in helping neighbors move from stability to greater opportunity. The program will connect residents to education, career readiness, workforce development, and supportive resources designed to help them build skills, increase earning potential, and pursue long-term goals. By creating clearer pathways to college, training, employment, and career advancement, Future Forward will help position our neighbors for upward mobility, greater financial stability, and lasting success. Future Forward is RWCI’s next step in helping neighbors move from stability to greater opportunity. The program will connect residents to education, career readiness, workforce development, and supportive resources designed to help them build skills, increase earning potential, and pursue long-term goals. By creating clearer pathways to college, training, employment, and career advancement, Future Forward will help position our neighbors for upward mobility, greater financial stability, and lasting success. When Dory moved to Renaissance West from another state, she quickly discovered a community designed to connect residents with resources and support. Through her relationship with RWCI, she found guidance that went beyond one immediate need— helping her navigate her household, finances, employment, and even her mental well-being. Coming from a difficult background, having that level of intentional support has given her a stronger sense of stability and a community she can turn to as she works toward her goals.
