10 Nandhana S | UG Portfolio : Janani apartmentsJanani is a village apartment. The design basically have 4 towers with 8 floors each in which one is a relief floor. 17% of the land is used for construction and 19% of the land is used for farming. The shape of the plot gave a clear differentiation between residential area and farming area. The design is trying to preserve the rurality and agricultural practices as in 2035 there is a high chance of people getting distant from these practices 02JANANI APARTMENTS (ACADEMIC WORK/ BATCH 2023)Site area: 5422.6sqm Built up area: 7134sqm Setback: 3m FAR: 1.3 Coverage: 946sqm No of units: 48Unit area: 3BHK: 124.57sqm 2BHK: 102.95sqm 1BHK: 78.2sqmFloor area: 3BHK: 260sqm 2BHK: 213sqm 1BHK: 194sqmJANANI APARTMENTS (ACADEMIC WORK 2024)02Janani is a village apartment. -SITE AREA: 5422.6sqm BUILT UP AREA: 7134sqm SETBACK: 3m FAR: 1.3 COVERAGE: 946sqm NO OF UNITS: 48UNIT AREA: 3BHK: 124.57sqm 2BHK: 102.95sqm 1BHK: 78.2sqmFLOOR AREA: 3BHK: 260sqm 2BHK: 213sqm 1BHK: 194sqmSITE DETAILS: SOFTWARES USED: AutoCAD, SketchUp, Lumion

Ideally, the design intends to work as a village. The tree seatings, and personalised small chatting areas can make the space more rural in vibe. Also, in order to provide these to higher floors, on 4th floor of each tower, the recreation area is repeated in relief floors. As the design is conceptualizing the idea of creating a village atmosphere, the ground level is designed with maximum interactions. The users can set up their own stalls or workshops, tea shops etc in the recreation area and as the parking comes in periphery of the plot and beneath the first floors, near recreation area, the chance of people opting to visit those space is also high. 1 2 13 Nandhana S | UG Portfolio : Janani apartments

03BELAKU SANGAMA(ACADEMIC WORK 2025)Belaku Sangama is a Urban design project in the city of Mysuru.Mysuru’s historic theater culture once shaped vibrant streets of leisure, interaction, and collective memory. With declining theater activity, these public spaces have gradually lost their nighttime vitality. This project explores subtle urban interventions—ambient lighting, flexible seating, informal vending, cultural installations, and evening activities—to reactivate theater streets, enhance safety, and preserve Mysuru’s cultural identity. The front boundary wall is designed to blend with public access, allowing the space to merge seamlessly with its surroundings. This approach softens edges and dilutes barriers, enhancing permeability, inviting movement, and creating a more inclusive and integrated urban environment. By allowing people to see activities happen- ing inside, the space provides a sense of safety and encourages easy access. This transparency makes the area more active and inviting, enabling it to merge seamlessly with the surroundings and fostering a vibrant, integrated urban environment. Setbacks and offsets are utilized thought- fully, creating organized spaces for allocat- ed activities, enhancing functionality, and maintaining a neat, well-structured, and active urban environment. The boundaries of the space gradually dissolve into the surroundings, allowing adaptability and inviting diverse crowds. The introduction of hybrid program- ming ensures continuous footfall and activates the space throughout the day, while these overlapping activities collectively contribute to shaping the cultural identity of the street. The lid, woodland, and park together create a continuous zone that dissolves boundaries and promotes seamless movement. Through hybrid programmes combining leisure, cultural, and community uses, the space remains active and inclusive. These overlapping activities sustain footfall, encourage social interaction, and shape a distinct cultural identity for the street. At night, cultural activities and illuminated floors create a vibrant and safe atmosphere. The visible glow enhances surveillance and walkability, encourag- ing people to linger and interact. This lively setting attracts vendors, sustains informal economies, and transforms the street into an active public realm that remains dynamic even after dusk.
