CELEBRATING EVERY SMILE, EVERY STORY, EVERY MOMENT OCTOBER ISSUE The Stories Behind the SmilesA closer look at the people and experiences that make our community special. Mrs. Dorothy joined our community three months ago. When she first arrived, she was reserved and preferred not to participate much in our activities. But from day one, she loved our dining service—a delightful surprise that brought such comfort and happiness to her family. Within just a few weeks, our team began gently encouraging Dorothy to engage at her own pace. Slowly, we saw something special begin to happen. Today, she looks forward to our craft sessions, and our weekly live entertainers can always bring a smile to her face. Her family initially had some hesitation because of their previous experience at another community. But they have truly witnessed a transformation. They love visiting Dorothy and seeing her light up again. These are the moments that bring our team great joy, the small steps, the growing smiles, and the opportunity to see someone feel at home again. Her family shared, “We can see such a difference in Dorothy. It means so much to us to see her happy, engaged, and enjoying herself again.” These are the moments that bring our team great joy. Our team takes the time to learn what makes each person feel comfortable and what brings a genuine smile to their day. We celebrate the small steps because we know those small steps can lead to meaningful changes. Dorothy’s story is a beautiful reminder of why the work we do matters so much.

OCTOBER ISSUE Bringing Comfort, Flavor, and Joy to the Table Chef Edgar believes every day is a celebration for our residents. With a passion for fresh ingredients and nutritious meals, he takes great pride in creating dishes that are as beautiful as they are delicious. For Edgar, presentation matters just as much as flavor. He believes that when a meal looks beautiful, it makes the moment feel more special and our residents deserve that extra touch every day. From the colors on the plate to the way each dish is presented, he takes pride in creating meals that feel inviting and memorable. Chef Edgar’s philosophy is simple: every day is a reason to celebrate. He doesn’t believe our residents should have to wait for a holiday, birthday, or special occasion to enjoy something extraordinary. Every meal is an opportunity to bring a little more joy to the day, and he puts that belief into everything he creates.

OCTOBER ISSUE Our activities and events are crafted with your loved one in mind. We tailor each opportunity around the interests, abilities, and moments that make our residents light up. From weekly live entertainment to our Luminate Specialized Memory Care activities featuring baking, fresh smoothies, therapeutic music, and more, we create meaningful ways for residents to stay engaged and enjoy each day. It’s about knowing what brings a smile to your loved one’s face and creating more moments like it. We have also been enjoying the warmer days with outdoor crafts and time spent in our courtyard, creating even more opportunities to connect and enjoy the season. It’s about knowing what brings a smile to your loved one’s face—and creating more moments like it. Inside the Activities That Bring Out Their Spark.

OCTOBER ISSUE Exceptional care is a standard we stand by in everything we do. Our care partners understand that providing great care goes far beyond completing a daily routine—it means taking the time to truly know each resident, recognize their preferences, notice changes, and understand what helps them feel comfortable and cared for. We recently welcomed a resident who was struggling with eating. At first, it seemed like they simply weren’t interested in meals. Rather than accepting that as the answer, our team took the time to learn more and pay attention to the details. Over time, we discovered it wasn’t that they didn’t enjoy eating—they preferred certain textures and responded much better to foods prepared in ways they enjoyed. Care That Makes a Difference Every Day Our trained caregivers bring skill, patience, and compassion to the moments that matter most. That small discovery made a meaningful difference. By getting to know the person behind the need, our team was able to adjust their approach and create a better mealtime experience. This is what exceptional care looks like in our community. It’s knowing that every resident is different, paying attention to the little things, and never stopping at the first answer. Because when we truly know your loved one, we can provide care that is personal, thoughtful, and meaningful.
