Monaghan Climate Action Week 2026 Act Local: Rethink, Reuse, Repair 12 - 18 Octoberth th Climate Action Week 2026 takes place from 12th to 18th October and provides an opportunity for communities, schools, businesses and individuals across County Monaghan to come together and take positive action for the environment. This year's theme, "Act Local: Rethink, Repair, Reuse", highlights the important role we all play in reducing waste, making better use of resources and building more sustainable communities. Throughout the week, a diverse programme of events and activities will showcase practical ways to take climate action in our daily lives, from repairing and reusing items to supporting biodiversity, reducing energy use and embracing circular economy principles.RETHINKREPAIRREUSE The week aims to inspire, educate and empower people of all ages to make simple changes that can have a lasting impact. Through workshops, talks, community events and hands-on activities, Climate Action Week celebrates local climate action while encouraging greater awareness, participation and collaboration across our communities. As part of the Climate Action Week Small Grants Scheme, Monaghan County Council has supported a number of community groups to deliver their own local events and initiatives throughout the week.
