7 DAYS OF MYSELF R U B I N N A I D UA G u i d e d J o u r n e y H o m e t o Y o u r s e l f
My Friend, Rubin here, and I want to express my deepest gratitude to you for spending your most precious resource with me—your time. I truly appreciate you being here. If you’re reading this, then there’s one thing I already know about you: you have great potential. And yet you haven’t become who you were meant to be, because your true self is being suppressed by anxiety, fear, shame and destructive habits. But I know something else about you too: you have great courage within you, because that’s what it takes to reconnect with your true self. To turn your attention inward to where your true power lies. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you for your willingness, for allowing me to walk alongside you, and most importantly, for being you. After 15 years of doing the work on myself, here’s what I know to be true: everything you are searching for—love, belonging, worthiness—all of it already exists inside of you. Understanding this ended my own suffering. And it has now become my life’s purpose to help others find their way back to themselves. That is why I created this guide. Over the next seven days, these short daily readings will help you reconnect with the real you. All I ask is that you approach each day with an open mind and an open heart. As Carl Jung once said, "Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes." Congratulations on making it back home. Let’s begin. Reconnect With The Real You Rubin Naidu WELCOME

Shame is so potent, that just one drop of it has the potential to change the entire trajectory of our lives. It’s much deeper than guilt, which is centered around our actions — it’s about what we believe our nature to be at our deepest core. A deep unshakeable feeling that we’re fundamentally flawed and defective, and therefore unworthy of being loved. In moments of inner turmoil, it’s this very shame that erupts and surfaces, feeding the voice that beats up on us and dims our future. But there is another way to live if we can discover the goodness and value that is seated even deeper than the shame itself. That which permeates through our shame, and our entire being in a more profound sense. Once we get to know this side of us intimately, we realize that we were valuable and worthy of love since the day we were born, our absolute birthright. I choose to see through my shame by surrendering into the goodness within me. I will commit to my relationship with the inherent value I was born with. “THE VERY CENTER OF YOUR HEART IS WHERE LIFE BEGINS. THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACE ON EARTH.” ― RUMI TODAY’S MINDSET
Our perfectionism is a double edged sword. On the one side, it’s helped us survive life and perform at a higher level than those we consider mediocre. On the other edge though, is a looming imprisonment and never ending wait to one day be ‘good enough’. The fear of not being perfect drives us forward, and yet the feeling of never being good enough makes us stop and wonder, when do I actually get to live? Perfection is a direction, not a destination—and chasing it endlessly only separates us from our true selves. To truly feel alive, we must let go of this insatiable need, and be willing to be human again. We will never arrive, and this very truth is what allows us to to start living today. Today I give myself permission to live fully. I trust that the universe has bigger plans for me, and I am willing to let go. “FREEDOM IS NOT WORTH HAVING IF IT DOES NOT INCLUDE THE FREEDOM TO MAKE MISTAKES.” ― GHANDI TODAY’S MINDSET
Society’s constant demands and judgments project a pressure onto us like no other. And like fish in water, we succumb to it without even realizing. It’s only when we hit our breaking points that we become aware of how this pressure manifests—pushing ourselves to prove our worth, comparing ourselves to others as a measuring stick, and endlessly re-proving our worth if we don’t ‘measure up.’ To our devastation, we lose sight of who we truly are in this numb and lifeless pursuit of one day 'being in the club.' In the game of life, sometimes we’re ahead, sometimes we’re behind, but according to the Universe we’re always exactly where we need to be. It’s up to us to slow down—not as a sign of failure, but as the beginning of a beautiful life led by meaning and purpose. Today, I release my compulsive need to prove my worth. Instead, I take life one step at a time, put one foot in front of the other, and find meaning in every experience. “SUCCESS IS LIKING YOURSELF, LIKING WHAT YOU DO AND LIKING HOW YOU DO IT.” ― MAYA ANGELOU TODAY’S MINDSET
When struggling with anxiety and feelings of defectiveness, it’s easy to escape into the fantasy of wanting to be someone else. Someone who’s more confident, more outgoing, and less anxious. It’s a very comforting image indeed, but a trap nonetheless as it’s not rooted in reality. This desire to be someone we’re not, only exacerbates the anxiety and shame we feel on the inside. Which ultimately prevents us from becoming the person we’re capable of being. The truth is that what we admire in others, are the qualities that lay dormant within ourselves. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be on our radar. It ‘takes one to know one’, and it’s the universe’s way of awakening the gifts that it has endowed us with. Once we unwrap them, we move by the beat of our own drum and the world becomes our oyster. When I find myself comparing, I choose to look for qualities within myself that the Universe is awakening me to. Today, I choose to be myself. “TO BE YOURSELF IN A WORLD THAT IS CONSTANTLY TRYING TO MAKE YOU SOMETHING ELSE IS THE GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT.” ― RALPH WALDO EMERSON TODAY’S MINDSET
Shame has a way of making us feel wrong, no matter what we say or do. It’s never enough. We’re never enough. We’ll never change. But this all-or-nothing thinking is exactly what keeps us powerless to change. It blinds us to the small improvements we can make in ourselves and our personalities along the way. Every time our anxiety is triggered, we have the most powerful tool at our disposal: choice. We can choose to resist the situation by shaming and blaming ourselves, just as our parents and bullies did, or we can choose to see anxiety as a signal—an invitation from the Universe to release the baggage of the past. It lovingly wants us to become whole again, and this process unfolds one interaction, one situation, one circumstance at a time Today, I embrace my power of choice. Rather than dwelling on my mistakes, I seek the deeper meaning hidden within all my experiences “I AM NOT WHAT HAPPENED TO ME, I AM WHAT I CHOOSE TO BECOME.” ― CARL JUNG TODAY’S MINDSET
When we face challenges, it’s tempting to criticize ourselves and feel hopeless. But it’s not the circumstance itself causing us this suffering—the suffering comes from using the circumstance to judge whether we’re worthy and lovable. Challenges in life are inevitable, but whether we see them as failures comes down to our own perspective, and that is something we have more control over than we like to think. Through each and every painful experience, we must become more and more willing to use pain as a teacher, rather than as a reason to criticize ourselves for failing to meet the unrealistic standards we’ve placed over our own heads. If we find the courage to look deep inside ourselves, each experience gives us the opportunity and power to reclaim what’s ours, and will always be ours: our own sense of value. I acknowledge that pain is my greatest teacher in life, and when it surfaces I look for the meaning behind it so my purpose can emerge. “LIFE IS NEVER MADE UNBEARABLE BY CIRCUMSTANCES, BUT ONLY BY LACK OF MEANING AND PURPOSE.” ― VICTOR FRANKL TODAY’S MINDSET
Our inner child never leaves us. He stands within us, looking up at us with his precious and innocent eyes waiting for us to acknowledge him. Yet we continue to ignore him. All of life’s distractions and temptations divert our attention to things we believe will take away his pain. Because on a subconscious level, we fear the sadness and the shame that he holds for us is just too unbearable—too much grief and too much loss. So we buy into the illusion that courage means conquering goals, but true courage lies in the willingness to turn our attention inward to the young child inside that needs us —now more than ever. We must go within. We must take his pain away. No one else can do that for us. And when we do, we awaken a life beyond our inner child’s wildest imagination, full of connection, fun, laughter, and creativity. Today I will use my courage to turn my attention inward. I embrace the Universe’s guidance in honoring my inner child, who deserves my time, love, care, and attention. ”THERE IS NOTHING ENLIGHTENED ABOUT SHRINKING SO THAT OTHER PEOPLE WON'T FEEL INSECURE AROUND YOU. WE ARE ALL MEANT TO SHINE, AS CHILDREN DO.” ― MARIANNE WILLIAMSON TODAY’S MINDSET
