The Old House Maya loved exploring Grandma’s old house. One rainy day, she saw a loose floorboard in the attic. “I wonder what is under it?” she said.
The Secret BoxMaya lifted the floorboard. Under it was a dusty wooden box. Inside were a silver key, a green button, and an old map. The map showed the house and garden.Red crosses marked a secret path.At the bottom, Maya read: “Where flowers sleep beneath a stone, A forgotten garden waits alone."
The Map Maya showed the map to Grandma. “Maybe it belonged to Great-Grandpa Arthur,” said Grandma. “He loved treasure hunts.” The first red cross was beside the old clock.
A Hidden Clue Maya pushed the clock. It moved! Behind it was a small stone with a button-shaped hole. “The library!” said Maya. Maya placed the green button inside. Click! A drawer opened with a new clue: “Look where old books go.”
The Green BookIn the library, Maya found a big green book. She used the silver key to open it. Inside was a purple flower and another clue: “Find the round stones.”
The Hidden DoorMaya followed the round stones across the garden. Under some leaves, she found a metal ring. She pulled it.
A Friendly HedgehogCreak! A door opened in the ground. A dark tunnel waited below. Maya walked into the tunnel with her torch. Suddenly, two bright eyes appeared! “Achoo!” sneezed the creature. It was a little hedgehog covered in leaves. “Hello, little friend,” said Maya.
The Secret WallThe hedgehog led Maya to a brick wall. Maya saw a moon carved in the bricks. She pressed the right brick.
Rumble! The wall opened, showing a bright garden. The garden was beautiful but untidy. Weeds covered the paths, and the fountain was dry. Maya searched everywhere.
At last, she found a tiny blue flower between two stones. Under the flower was a moon-shaped stone. Maya pressed it.The Blue Flower Splash! Water burst from the fountain. Birds sang, leaves opened, and flowers moved in the breeze. The garden woke up!
Arthur’s MessageBehind the fountain, Maya found a box. Inside was a photograph of Great-Grandpa Arthur and a note. “I made this garden with my sister, Rose. Please take care of it.” “I promise,” said Maya.
Maya told Grandma about the garden. Soon, Maya, Grandma, and the neighbors cleaned it together. The hedgehog helped too! The garden became bright and beautiful.
A New AdventureThen Maya saw a new red mark on the map. It pointed under the kitchen floor. “Grandma, there is another secret!” Grandma smiled. “Let’s explore!” Moral: Be curious, be brave, and care for special places.
