Danny Fournel Director Mazrui Energy One team, one function, one strategic partner. A message from the Director Dear colleagues, At Mazrui Energy, I believe an effective supply chain is far more than a supporting function. It is a strategic business partner and a key enabler of operational excellence, business continuity and sustainable growth. It decides whether a job starts on time, whether an operation keeps running and whether a customer trusts us with the next contract. Each of our business units has built a capable supply chain team that works close to its own operations. That strength is real, and we will keep it. But we can achieve far more when we work as one. My vision is to develop Supply Chain into a shared service centre that brings together the expertise of our teams across all five business units. One integrated function will let us standardise best practice, remove duplicated effort, strengthen collaboration and create greater value for every business unit, while each unit keeps the focus its operations need. By sharing knowledge, optimising resources, using data- driven insights and strengthening supplier relationships, we can improve procurement efficiency, control cost, deliver on time and build greater resilience across our operations. Every procurement decision and supplier partnership should reflect our values. Together, let us build a supply chain that works as one team, one function and one strategic partner, delivering sustainable value and a stronger future for Mazrui Energy. This will not happen overnight. It will take collaboration, openness to change and, above all, people who understand the full chain from planning to delivery. That is why I welcome Supply Chain 360. Learning together is the first step to working as one. I look forward to building this future with all of you. Ahmed Eltahlawy Regional Supply Chain Manager Mazrui Energy A supply chain is only as strong as the people who understand it. F R O M T H E M A N A G E R ’ S D E S K A message from the Regional Supply Chain Manager Dear colleagues, Every day, our teams keep critical operations moving for our customers. Much of what makes that possible sits quietly in the background: the right material, in the right place, at the right time, at the right cost. It rarely makes headlines, but it makes everything else work. Supply Chain 360 was created to give that work a voice, and to look at our profession from every angle: planning, sourcing, warehousing, logistics and the people behind them. Our industry is changing quickly, with higher expectations on in-country value, tighter compliance, digital tools and customers who expect more certainty with every order. Keeping pace needs more than experience. It needs a habit of learning, and a place where that learning is shared. This first issue begins with our own structure and the colleagues who make it work, because knowing who does what, and where, is the fastest way to get things done. From there, each issue will bring you one focused theme, explained simply and visually, so it can be read in a few minutes and applied the same day. I encourage every member of the team to read it, discuss it, challenge it, and contribute to it. The best ideas in our function will come from within our own team. Thank you for the commitment you bring every day. Let us keep learning, and keep raising the bar together. S T A R T H E R E What is a supply chain? A supply chain is everything it takes to get the right material or service to the right place, at the right time, at the right cost: from planning what we need and sourcing it, through logistics and inventory, to delivering it to the operation. S T A R T H E R E The job of a supply chain Every supply chain, from a corner shop to an oilfield operation, is judged on the same seven rights. The operation keeps running RIGHT product RIGHT quantity RIGHT condition RIGHT place RIGHT time RIGHT customer RIGHT cost Supply chain, procurement, logistics: what is the difference? Planning Procurement and sourcing Warehousing Logistics S U P P LY C H A I N M A N A G E M E N T People often use these words as if they mean the same thing. They do not. Procurement and logistics are parts of the supply chain, not the whole of it. Supply chain management is what connects them, so a decision in one area does not create a problem further down the line. Think of it as the conductor, not one of the instruments. S TA R T H E R E 10
