Kalani and the Sparkling Sea A story of courage, kindness and teamwork
Good morning, ocean! Kalani and the Sparkling Sea 1 Kalani lived on a tiny island called Coral Cove. She had soft sand, tall palm trees, and a little coral canoe. Every morning, she waved to the sea. “Good morning, ocean!”
Oh no! 2 One day, the ocean looked sad. Bottles and old nets floated on the waves. “Oh no!” said Kalani. “The ocean needs help!” A shiny shell whispered, “Find Glow Island.”
I will find Glow Island! 3 Kalani put on her shell necklace. She packed her bag and got her canoe ready. “I will help the ocean!” she said. “I will find Glow Island!”
We will help! Hello, Kalani! 4 Splash! Friends popped up to say hello. Tula the turtle smiled. Dilly the dolphin giggled. “Hello, Kalani!” they sang. “We will show you the way!”
Wheee! 5 Kalani raised her sail. Whoosh! The wind pushed the canoe across the sparkling sea. Dilly leaped over the waves. “Wheee!” cheered Kalani. “This is fun!”
I am brave! 6 Then a BIG wave rose up! Kalani's heart went thump, thump. But she held her oar tight. “I am brave!” she said. Up, up, up she went, right over the wave. Whoosh!
Hic! I'm Puff! Ha ha! Hi, Puff! 7 Plop! A round little fish bounced up. “Hic! I'm Puff!” he said. When Puff got scared, he puffed up like a balloon! Kalani giggled. Puff pushed her canoe the right way. “Thank you, Puff!”
Glow Island! 8 Look! A glowing island! The sand shimmered. The shells twinkled like tiny lights. “Glow Island!” whispered Kalani. “It is so beautiful!”
Blow me and call your friends! 9 In the sand, Kalani found a big, shiny shell. It hummed a soft song. “Blow me,” it said, “and call all the sea friends. Together, you can clean the ocean!”
Let's clean together! 10 Toot! Kalani blew the shell. Turtles, fish, and dolphins came swimming. “Let's clean together!” they cheered. Tula carried bottles. Puff rolled them. Dilly pulled the nets. Everyone helped!
11 Soon the water was clean and clear. Bright fish danced around the colorful coral. The ocean sparkled again! “Thank you, friends!” said the ocean with a happy splash.
Be brave, help others, and protect nature! The End 12 Kalani sailed home to Coral Cove. Her family hugged her tight. She told them her story. “Be brave, help others, and protect nature,” she said. Everyone cheered. The end!
