This buffering effect helps maintain cooler indoor tempera- tures, preventing overheating during peak external heat. Night: The wall begins to release the stored heat. With proper cross ventilation, this heat is flushed out of the space through natural air movement, allowing the wall to cool down. This reset enables the thermal mass to repeat the same stabilizing cycle the following day. The project employs rammed earth as an environmentally responsive technique, using soil extracted from the basement excavation to construct the ground floor. 6 Connections, Levels and views, Art and music I wanted to create a pathway that passes through exhibition spaces on the way to The Artist building. Additionally, the path offers views toward the historic courthouse, making it a visible and present element in the experience of movement through the site. In the Upper level I perforated the southern part of the, designing it as a open frontage from which a bridge extends, allowing entry while also serving as a viewing point toward the courthouse. The perspectives, showcase the spaces on the upper floor, which expand and contract, stretch and compress, to create a sense of wandering and journeying through the building. My intention was to use these variations in scale and proportions to enhance the experience of movement, making the transitions between spaces feel more dynamic and engaging. On the ground level I used the distance from the building, and in this space, I wanted to create a small urban forest with benches facing the courthouse, offering a quiet place to sit and observe the building. Inspired by deconstructionism, the building becomes a usable monumental sculpture connected to its residents, context, and history. 8 03 Jerusalem Arts Faculty The project is located on a main street in Jerusalem, facing a large park. In this project, I allocated part of the site to a public square and a café, creating small yards that extend the facade toward the garden across the road. This approach creates architectural opportunities for different kinds of studying and learning. The schemes of movement in the building define the hierarchy of the spaces, from the most public areas to the most private spaces belonging only to students. 8 5 1 2 3 11 10 9 12 13 14 4 6 7 Y2 / Sem AArchitecture School, Ariel University03 Jerusalem Arts Faculty 1. The upper floors are naturally ventilated through a vertical opening, around which all the apartments are organized.
