Lisa arrived at the hospital with her mother, Jeda, and her father, Vince. The room was quiet, but everything felt strange and unfamiliar. Lisa: "Mom... Dad... will I be okay?" Jeda: "We are here, sweetheart." Vince: "You are very brave, Lisa."
As the evening grew darker, Lisa's stomach hurt more. Tears rolled down her cheeks while her parents stayed close beside her. Lisa: "It hurts..." Jeda: "I wish I could take the pain away." Vince: "We'll get through this together."
Nurse Alyssa: "Hello, Lisa. I’ll take care of you tonight" Nurse Alyssa: "Thank you. I’m here to help you feel better."
Nurse Alyssa: "Yes, I will stay."
Vince: "We love you so much."
After her parents left, the room became very quiet. Lisa missed them so much that she began to cry softly. Lisa: "I want my Mom..."
Nurse Alyssa: "One little spoon for you strong heart.”Lisa: "Okay...just one."
After eating, Lisa felt calmer. Nurse Alyssa tucked the blanket around her and stayed beside her until she fell asleep
Vince: "Our little star looks brighter today."
Nurse Alyssa: "Mrs. Jeda, are you feeling all right?” Jeda: "I’m just tired and not feeling well.”
Nurse Alyssa: "You do not have to suffer alone.”
