All rights reserved.Monk Fryston marked RADIX’s 25th BESS project milestone, supporting infrastructure capable of powering half a million homes during peak demand.Early involvement allowed RADIX to carry out trial pile installation, point load deflection tests, and site- specific assessment before finalising the foundation approach. The resulting design accounted for pile lengths, load performance, and installation depths across challenging terrain.Located near Leeds, Monk Fryston is a flagship battery energy storage site, delivering 320MW / 640MWh of capacity to support the UK’s renewable grid. The project marked RADIX’s 25th BESS foundation milestone.RADIX designed, supplied, and installed more than 3,300 screw piles and bespoke structural steelwork to support Sungrow batteries, MV units, and LC cabinets across the site.Every installation was coordinated around active site conditions, crane lifts, trenching, bund works, and programme requirements, with QA procedures including load testing, torque checks, position logging, and installed height validation.
