The Purpose of the Codex Codex of the Teutonnic Sailor has been written to familiarize every member of the Greater Teutonnic Navy with the standards that define our service. It serves as a guide to the values, traditions, and conduct expected of every sailor, regardless of their rank or unit. The principles contained within this Codex are not laws to be enforced, but standards to be taught and embraced by every sailor. Their purpose is to strengthen the character of those who serve and to preserve the honour and traditions of the Greater Teutonnic Navy. Let this Codex stand as a common standard for every sailor of the Greater Teutonnic Navy. Inspiring loyalty, discipline and brotherhood throughout service.

II. Of Conduct and Brotherhood Principle 1. A sailor respects the symbols, ceremonies and traditions of the Navy. He recognizes them as expressions of the Navy's history, values and unity. Through his respect for them, he preserves the spirit of the service. Principle 2. A sailor honours those who served before him. He remembers their sacrifices, achievements and devotion. Recognizing that the Navy of today was built by their hands. Their example shall inspire him in his own duties. Principle 3. A sailor remains loyal to the Navy, the Realm and the Ruler. His loyalty is demonstrated through faithful service, commitment and the fulfillment of his responsibilities. In times of struggle he remains true to the oath he has taken. Principle 4. A sailor safeguards the reputation of the Navy through his conduct. He understands that his words and actions reflect not only on himself but on every sailor who serves. Principle 5. A sailor wears the uniform with dignity and pride. The uniform is a symbol of service, responsibility and unity. It shall never be worn in a manner that disgraces the Navy. By wearing it he represents something greater than himself.

III. Of Conduct and Brotherhood Principle 1. Every sailor shall treat his comrades with respect. Mutual trust and respect are the foundation of every successful crew. A sailor strengthens the Navy by upholding the bond between him and his comrades. Principle 2. A sailor obeys lawful orders and respects the chain of command. Order and discipline ensure that every sailor can act with confidence and purpose. By fulfilling his duty he contributes to the effectiveness of the entire Navy. Principle 3. A sailor leads by example before he leads by authority. His character and discipline inspire the confidence of those around him. True leadership is earned through actions before it is granted by rank. Principle 4. A sailor never abandons his comrades without a just reason. In both struggle and success he stands beside those with whom he serves. Brotherhood is strengthened through loyalty, courage, and support. Principle 5. A sailor shares his knowledge with those around him. New sailors shall be welcomed with respect and guided with patience. The experience of one shall become the strength of the next.

IV. Of Duty and Labour Principle 1. A sailor performs with dedication and professionalism. He understands that the success of the Navy depends on the commitment with which every task is carried out. Excellence is achieved through consistent effort, not occasional achievements. Principle 2. A sailor takes responsibility for his actions. He recognizes both his achievements and his mistakes with honesty and justice. By accepting responsibility he strengthens the trust placed in him by his comrades. Principle 3. A sailor strives to improve himself throughout his service. He seeks to expand his knowledge, gain new skills and learn from both experience and those around him. Principle 4. No honest duty is beneath a sailor. Every task contributes to the strength and power of the Navy. A sailor performs his work with equal dedication, whether it is big or small. Principle 5. A sailor serves every flotilla and regiment of the Navy with equal loyalty and dedication. Though their duties and responsibilities may be different, they all serve the same Navy, the same Realm and the same Ruler. No flotilla or regiment shall be regarded as better than another in its service to the Realm.
