Obituary I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. Roman 8:18 Jesus love I know, it will turn your life around and put a smile inside a frown. There were times in my life when I'd start to pray, But I don't know what to say. But I get on my knees and call God anyway. I ask the Lord to forgive me of the wrong I've done, Because I wanna be, I wanna be your son. Jesus love I know, it will turn your life around. Strength, confidence, talent, and a protector of family- Robert Dewayne Brown. Wayne, as he was fondly called by family and friends, was a giant of a man who enjoyed singing, playing basketball, and entertaining kids. He was always the life of any family gathering. He loved spending time talking about his success as a high school basketball player and about how he loved living in Denver, Colorado with his family there. His early education was received in West Carroll Parish. He played basketball in Pioneer and attained many awards for his abilities as a great player. He often spoke of his name being a part of sports history in Pioneer. He loved sports and was an avid Denver Broncos fan. He enjoyed watching football and basketball on television, especially the Superbowl and March Madness. Wayne loved spending time with his family and was very territorial when it came to them. He was the protector! He was stern but enjoyed many special moments with his children and his nephews at the movies, at parks, basketball and football games, and at home. Family gatherings were amongst some of the things he loved most. He was known to sing his own special rendition of the "Birthday Song" to family members. He also entered a talent search in Lake Providence that he won and received a recording session with a studio owned by Paxton Branch in Tallulah, Louisiana. Writing songs was another one of his favorite pastimes.
During his early adult years, he received an associate’s degree in astrology during his tenure in Colorado. He was very proud of that, but he was always good with his hands as seen even during his mid-life. He did minor mechanic work on vehicles and lawn mowers, assembled basketball goals, trampolines, furniture, and other toys for children. He believed in keeping children busy and teaching them the fundamentals of manhood such as mowing lawns, changing oil and fixing flats, house cleaning, and other lessons vital to adulthood. He was a macho man who believed in men doing men's work but keeping their fingernails immaculate. He was very instrumental in teaching young men to care for their mothers by teaching them the proper way to pack a car, carry grocery, empty the trash at home, and to always open the door for ladies. He was baptized at an early age and wrote the aforementioned song, Jesus Love, as a testament to his belief and faith in the Most High God. Later in life, he joined the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Lake Providence under the leadership of Bishop C. H. Murray. It was at Mt. Zion that Wayne gave his powerful testimony of God's goodness in his life. Years later, after moving to Monroe, he joined the Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church under the tutelage of Bishop Edward C. Knight. Wayne's chain of love was broken in a few places prior to being called to eternal rest. Those broken places were the death of his parents, Junior Lee and Zelma Moore to whom he was born on October 20, 1962; two of his daughters, Shwayne Barnes and Nakeyia Brown; and his brother, Johnny Lee Moore. Those still here to celebrate loving memories are: Danielle Forte of Indianapolis, Indiana, Talisa Brown Bryant (Jeffrey) of Aurora, Colorado, Paydrea Lewis of Monroe, LA, and Pavia Brown of Arlington, TX; also, 3 young men he helped to raise, Paul Knight of Monroe, Patrick Lewis of Dallas, TX, and Payton Lewis of Cedar Hill, TX; 1 brother, Herbert Moore of Lake Providence; 3 sisters, Glenda Sanders, Adaline Blakely, and Toni Sue Johnson, all of Lake Providence; 2 special nieces, Kim Powell (Kevin) and Stephanie Thomas, Lake Providence; 3 very special cousins from Colorado, Ellere Archer, Patsy Brown-Bruce, and Emma Brown; goddaughter Kailonie Jackson of Pleasant Grove, TX, 13 grandchildren and a plethora of nieces, nephews, and cousins. And after you have suffered a little while the God of all grace, who has called you to HIs eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. 1 Peter 5:10
