Child Predators are no longer hiding in white vans—they’re just a click away. Today, they can find and target children online. Whether it’s through social media, chatrooms, or even child- focused video games, predators often enter a child’s digital world to build trust—and then exploit it. As an organization, you play a critical role in helping your students stay safe. In Speak Up Be Safe, we teach children about healthy online habits, setting boundaries, and practical ways to respond if something doesn’t feel right. But these lessons are even more powerful when they continue at home and familiar spaces. Talking openly and regularly with your students about their online experiences helps build trust and keeps communication strong. If you’re not sure how to begin, Childhelp offers a free Safety from Online Harm module with guidance. Click HERE to explore. It’s also important to stay informed about current risks. Our Director of Prevention and Growth, Stacy Vaughn, was recently featured in a Substack article, Chronically Online. In the article, she highlights the risks of oversharing and why protecting your child’s digital footprint matters now more than ever. Her expert perspective reinforces a simple truth: staying aware and taking small, intentional steps can make a big difference in keeping your child safe online.
