B G S C O L L E G E O F E D U C A T I O NBGSCE NEWSLETTER Page 02 Vol. 01, Issue 06 Ph.D. DAC Meeting The Doctoral Advisory Committee (DAC) Meeting for the Ph.D. Programme in Education for 2026–27 batch was successfully conducted on 22.06.2026 & 23.06.2026 in the Board Room of BGS College of Education for research scholars Mr. Srinivas T. N., Mr. Yogesh M., and Mrs. Sumitra.DAC reviewed & verfied the research proposals of the research scholars and provided suggestions for further improvements. The DAC meetings were chaired by Dr. A. T. Shivaramu, Chairman, Doctoral Advisory Committee and Guide, ACU. The committees included distinguished external experts Dr. Vishnu M. Shinde and Dr. Sheela G., along with internal members and research guides Dr. Devananda A. C., Dr. Sowmya N. S., and Dr. Shobha M. The deliberations provided valuable insights and constructive suggestions to support the scholars in successfully advancing their doctoral research. “Learn with Commitment… Teach with Passion… Serve with Responsibility.” BGS College of Education, organized the School Internship & School Immersion Orientation and Motivation Programme for the Fourth Semester student-teachers of the Second-Year B.Ed. Programme. The programme was designed to orient and prepare student- teachers for their forthcoming School Internship and School Immersion by providing comprehensive guidance on the objectives, structure, expectations, and professional responsibilities associated with the internship. The orientation emphasized the significance of experiential learning in teacher education and highlighted key aspects such as lesson planning, classroom management, effective teaching-learning strategies, maintenance of internship records, school discipline, punctuality, professional ethics, and appropriate conduct within the school environment. The sessions aimed to equip the student-teachers with the knowledge, confidence, and professional competencies required to perform their roles effectively in authentic classroom settings. Addressing the gathering, Dr. A. T. Shivaramu, Principal, inspired the student-teachers to undertake their internship with commitment, integrity, dedication, and a spirit of service. He emphasized that the School Internship is a pivotal component of the B.Ed. curriculum, providing a meaningful platform for integrating pedagogical theory with classroom practice. He encouraged the student-teachers to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, cultivate reflective teaching practices, and contribute positively to the academic and holistic development of school students. The programme concluded with an expression of gratitude to the Principal for his insightful address and valuable guidance. Faculty members extended their best wishes to all student-teachers for a productive, enriching, and professionally fulfilling School Internship and School Immersion experience, expressing confidence that the internship would strengthen their pedagogical skills, professional values, and readiness for the teaching profession.
B G S C O L L E G E O F E D U C A T I O NBGSCE NEWSLETTER Page 03 Vol. 01, Issue-06 Faculty Orientation Programme on the Institution Development Plan (IDP) On 02 June 2026 (Tuesday), Dr. A T Shivaramu, Principal, conducted a Faculty Orientation Programme on the Institution Development Plan (IDP) for the B.Ed. faculty members based on Adichunchanagiri University IDP template. The programme focused on developing a comprehensive institutional plan aligned with the University's strategic objectives and quality enhancement initiatives. The Principal highlighted the importance of aligning institutional planning, curriculum implementation, and academic activities with the UGC Curriculum and Credit Framework (CCF), National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, NCTE Regulations, and NAAC quality benchmarks. The orientation also emphasized the academic and administrative requirements of both the Two-Year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Programme and the Four-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP). Faculty members were guided on preparing department-wise action plans, academic targets, quality initiatives, and outcome-based strategies to ensure the effective implementation of the Institution Development Plan and continuous institutional improvement. ITEP Syllabus Development Committee Meeting The ITEP Syllabus Development Committee Meeting was held on 5 June 2026 in the Board Room, BGS College of Education, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., under the guidance of Dr. A. T. Shivaramu, Dean, Humanities and Social Sciences. The meeting was attended by Dr. Nandeesh, Chairperson of the Board of Studies (BoS); faculty members Mr. Devananda A.C., Dr. Shobha M., Mr. Lokesh Kumar, and Mr. Ravi Kumar; and faculty representatives from Natural Sciences, Dr. Rohan and Smt. Suvetha. During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held on the curriculum framework for the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) syllabus. After comprehensive discussion, the committee resolved to organize each course into five units to ensure systematic content organization, effective curriculum delivery, and alignment with academic objectives. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the Chair.
B G S C O L L E G E O F E D U C A T I O NMr. C L Shivanna Research Publication: 01 Paper Presentation (Conference / Seminar Attended): 01 Published a research paper titled "Study on the Impact of Generative AI on Teaching and Learning in Teacher Education Institutions" on 30 June 2026 in the Journal of Research and Development (A Multidisciplinary International-Level Refereed Double- Blind Peer-Reviewed Journal, ISSN: 2230-9578, Volume 18, Issue 6(1)). The paper was presented at the International Multidisciplinary Conference organized by Gudleppa Hallikeri Arts, Science and Commerce College, Haveri. Dr. A T Shivaramu On 20 June 2026, served as a Resource Person at the Educators' Enhancement Programme 2026–27 (Faculty Development Programme) organized by the Hassan Branch at Sakaleshpura. The Principal delivered two insightful technical sessions on "Transformative Educational Leadership and Strategic Administration" and "5W–1H Framework for Effective Teaching." The sessions emphasized educational leadership, strategic institutional management, and innovative teaching practices, receiving enthusiastic appreciation from the participants. On 27 June 2026, served as a Resource Person at the Faculty Development Workshop, "Bridging the Gap: Connecting Minds, Inspiring Hearts, and Transforming Learning," organized for the faculty members of BGS PU College and BGS High School at the Digital Learning Centre, Panchajanya Building. The session emphasized strengthening teacher– student relationships, promoting learner-centred pedagogy, and adopting transformative teaching practices to enhance the quality of education. Dr. A C Devanda A C Research Publication: 02 Published a scholarly article titled "ಶಿಕ್ಷ ಣ ೕತ ಶಿ ೕ ಾ. ನಿ ಮ ಾನಂದ ಾಥ ಮ ಾ ಾ ೕಜಿ ಯವರ ೂಡುಗೆ ಗಳ " in Shikshana Saudha, Gadag (ISSN: 2249-2429, Volume 16, Issue 1, pp. 15–17). The article highlights the significant contributions of Sri Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji to the field of education, emphasizing his visionary leadership, commitment to value-based education, and enduring impact on educational development and social transformation. A research article titled "Current Status of B.Ed. Colleges in the Light of NEP 2020: A Critical Analysis of ITEP and the Future of Teacher Education in India" has been published as a book chapter in the edited volume "Redefining Teacher Education for Transformative Practices." The book has been published by Rajeev College of Education, Hassan. Mr. A H Gopal Research Publication: 01 Published a scholarly book chapter titled "Peer Learning as an Effective Strategy for Collaborative Teaching in Teacher Education" in the edited volume "Redefining Teacher Education for Transformative Practice" (ISBN: 978-93-5906-869-5, pp. 124–131).
B G S C O L L E G E O F E D U C A T I O NBGSCE NEWSLETTER Page 05 Vol. 01, Issue-06 World Environment Day Celebration BGS Model Public School, BGS PU College, and BGS College of Education, Panchajanya Campus, jointly organized a series of environmental awareness activities to promote sustainability and responsible citizenship. The programme commenced with a Sapling Plantation Ceremony inaugurated by Dr. A. T. Shivaramu, Administrative Officer, in the presence of institutional heads, faculty members, staff, and students. An Environmental Awareness Rally was conducted under the theme "Save Nature to Save Our Future," during which students created public awareness on environmental conservation and distributed saplings to local residents and shopkeepers at Bellur Cross to encourage community participation in afforestation. Students further contributed by bringing and planting saplings across the Panchajanya campus, enhancing its green cover while fostering a sense of environmental responsibility. The programme concluded with a pledge to protect natural resources and uphold sustainable practices, reaffirming the institutions' collective commitment to nurturing environmentally conscious and socially responsible citizens. World Environment Day – Tree Plantation Drive On 5th June 2026 The Principal, Dr. A. T. Shivaramu, and the faculty members of BGS College of Education, Adichunchanagiri University, actively participated in the World Environment Day 2026 celebration organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS), Adichunchanagiri University, at the ACU Campus, B.G. Nagara. The programme featured a Tree Plantation Drive with the participation of nearly 250 students, NSS volunteers, faculty members, and staff. The event was blessed by Pujya Sri Sri Satkeerthinatha Swamiji and graced by Dr. C. K. Subbaraya, Registrar, Adichunchanagiri University, and Sri B. K. Umesh, Finance Officer, Adichunchanagiri University. Dr. A. T. Shivaramu and the faculty members enthusiastically joined the plantation drive and pledged to protect and nurture the planted saplings. The programme highlighted the importance of environmental conservation, climate change mitigation, biodiversity protection, and sustainable development. Their participation reflected the commitment of BGS College of Education towards environmental stewardship and inspired the academic community to adopt eco-friendly practices for a greener and more sustainable future.

The programme was held in the divine presence of Paramapoojya Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji, Honourable Chancellor of Adichunchanagiri University. The event witnessed the participation of the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Deans, Principals, faculty members, staff, and students from the constituent institutions of the University. The mass yoga session emphasized the significance of yoga in promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, emotional balance, and healthy ageing. I & III Semester Examinations – June 2026 The examinations were carried out smoothly with meticulous planning and efficient coordination. All essential facilities, including well-arranged examination halls, seating arrangements, uninterrupted power supply, drinking water, sanitation, and administrative support, were provided to ensure a comfortable and conducive atmosphere for the students. The successful conduct of the examinations was made possible under the able leadership of Dr. A. T. Shivaramu, Principal, whose guidance and commitment to academic excellence ensured the seamless execution of the examination process. The dedicated efforts of the faculty, examination committee, administrative staff, and support staff, along with the discipline and cooperation of the students, contributed significantly to the success of the examinations. T. Shivaramu, Principal, in the Board Room. The workshop aimed to review, revise, and strengthen the curriculum of the Two-Year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Programme and the Four-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) in alignment with NEP 2020, NCTE Regulations, NHEQF, UGC Curriculum and Credit Framework (CCF), and Outcome-Based Education principles. Throughout the workshop, faculty members engaged in comprehensive deliberations on programme structure, curriculum design, credit distribution, Course Outcomes (COs), Programme Outcomes (POs), practicum components, school internship, assessment strategies, curriculum mapping, and competency-based, multidisciplinary, experiential, inclusive, and technology-enabled learning. Subject-wise review sessions enabled faculty to refine course content, pedagogical approaches, learning outcomes, and assessment methods in accordance with national quality standards and University guidelines. The workshop culminated in the review and finalization of the revised First and Second Semester B.Ed. curricula and syllabi, while the revision of the Third and Fourth Semester curricula was initiated. Simultaneously, the curriculum framework for the Four-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) was redesigned to ensure alignment with contemporary educational reforms. The workshop concluded with a strategic roadmap for completing the curriculum revision process and submitting the revised syllabi for statutory approval, reaffirming the institution's commitment to academic excellence, quality teacher education, and the development of competent future educators.
