Awards Ceremony Grade 1 – 3 29 October 2026 @ 08:30 – 12:30 School Hall

FOREWORD FROM THE ACTING PRINCIPAL “Firmly Forward” is what drives us at Roseview Primary School. ”Firmly Forward” on the rise to greatness is what drove parents for many years to be part of this institution. Roseview has grown from strength since its establishment in January 1994. It has braved through many challenges and still stood strong. We are proud of our excellent track record in academics just as we take pride in our wide range of extra- curricular activities that we offer our learners. We believe that it is equally important to challenge our learners intellectually as it is to prepare them physically for the rigours of life. The year 2026 began with its usual hustle and bustle and thunderous reverberation of those young one’s (Grade 1’s) chatter with glee. The laughter of all learners is sheer delight and nothing inspires me more in my work as principle to see our children happy and enjoying their learning. We at Roseview know that success is not a destination but a journey believing a philosophy that victory belongs to most preserving. Each child at Roseview Primary has many opportunities to nurture his/her interest, passion and character, this all thanks to each teacher. While thanking the Almighty for his countless blessing, we thank all the (teachers, parents and learners) who made this year a sweet memory to carry to the next year. Today is a great day whereby we are awarding certificates to learners, to reward them for their hard work completed throughout the year and a heartfelt I want to display for all who have nurtured and supported. With God on our side and the continued support from the school community and our parents, together we can bring the best in every child!

Roseview Primary School Annual Report for 2026 It is our honour to present you with the Annual Report for 2026. During 2026 our school was blessed with outstanding achievements on the sports ground and with cultural activities. Me. M. Litseho (Parent) Me. A. Ferris (Educator) Me. K. Raphela (Educator) Me. W. Makhanya (Parent) Me. L. Diteho (Parent) The SGB met on various occasions and contributed positively in terms of governance. 5. BUILDINGS AND TERRAIN The school grounds are well maintained and neatly organised, contributing to a clean, safe, and conducive environment for teaching and learning. Furthermore, tel- evisions have been installed in all foundation phase classrooms, enhancing the teaching and learning environment through improved access to educational technol- ogy and greater classroom comfort (most importantly, the Jolly phonics Pro- gramme). 6. SCHOOL FEES School fees for 2026 amounted to R7 150 per year per learner (R 650 per month from January to November – 11 months). Discount of R 650 was granted to parents who paid the amount before the end of the first quarter. The issue of parents not paying school fees has also posed a serious challenge in meeting some of the learning and teaching goals. All those teachers under SGB are paid through school fees, which should be paid monthly for purposes of meeting the obligation of paying employees on a monthly basis. None payment of school fees on time, is a serious set back to the progress of our school as it hampers on the core business of the school. 7. FUNDRAISING PROJECTS The school engaged in various fundraising projects during the year. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all teachers for their hard work and all parents for their loyal support and commitment. The raffle project was a great success and contributed in improving our school. We thank you for all the support. 8. ASSEMBLY: School assemblies were held every Wednesday and were conducted by Me. Slab- bert, Me. Barnes, and the Principal. These assemblies provided an opportunity to communicate important school-related information, reinforce school values, and promote a sense of unity and belonging among learners. Learners were expected to maintain appropriate discipline, demonstrate respectful behaviour, and adhere to the established code of conduct throughout each assembly. At the beginning of each term, learners who had excelled in academics, sport, and cultural activities were formally recognised and commended for their achievements. This acknowledgement served to celebrate their dedication, commitment, and per- severance, while also encouraging other learners to strive for excellence in their re- spective fields. The assemblies were conducted in an orderly and structured man- ner, contributing to the promotion of discipline, mutual respect, and a positive school culture. 9. DISCIPLINARY SYSTEM The Foundation Phase makes use of the Blue Card Disciplinary System to promote positive behaviour, reinforce adherence to school rules, and maintain a disciplined and conducive teaching and learning environment. In the event of a learner violating the established school rules, a Blue Card will be issued and signed by the educator concerned. Should further disciplinary intervention be necessary, the matter will be escalated progressively to the grade head, departmental head, and ultimately the principal, depending on the nature and frequency of the offence. Parents or guardians will be informed of each recorded violation to ensure effective communication and collaboration between the school and home. Where necessary, meetings will be arranged with the relevant parties to discuss the learner’s behav- iour, identify possible contributing factors, and establish appropriate corrective measures. This structured approach aims to promote accountability, encourage pos- itive behavioural changes, and ensure that learners understand the importance of respecting school rules and maintaining appropriate conduct. 10. CLOSURE

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all stakeholders of Roseview for their invaluable support, dedication, and positive contributions throughout 2026. Your continued commitment, co-operation, and involvement have played a signifi- cant role in the growth and success of our school community. It has been a privilege and a pleasure to work alongside each of you, and we sincerely appreciate the meaningful contributions you have made towards the achievement of our shared goals. We would also like to extend our heartfelt best wishes to our Grade 7 learners as they prepare to embark on the next chapter of their educational journeys. Having been part of the Roseview family for the past seven years, you leave behind a lega- cy of cherished memories, personal growth, and valuable experiences. As you tran- sition to high school, may you continue to strive for excellence, embrace new oppor- tunities, and approach every challenge with confidence, determination, and integrity. You will always remain a valued part of the Roseview family, and we wish you every success in your future endeavours. 11. ACADEMIC 11.1 FOUNDATION PHASE (Grade 1 – 3) The Foundation Phase forms the cornerstone of every learner’s educational journey, laying the essential foundation for future academic achievement, personal develop- ment, and lifelong learning. It is during these formative years that learners acquire fundamental literacy and numeracy skills, develop social and emotional competen- cies, and begin to cultivate the knowledge, values, and attitudes necessary for suc- cess in their future education. During 2026, the Foundation Phase comprised 19 dedicated educators who worked tirelessly to provide quality teaching and learning opportunities for all learners. The phase consisted of six Grade 1 classes, five Grade 2 classes, and six Grade 3 clas- ses. Sesotho was implemented across Grades 1 to 3, further promoting language development and supporting learners in their educational journey. Through the col- lective efforts of our educators, we continued to strive towards creating a supportive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment in which every learner could reach their full potential. One of the most rewarding aspects of working in the Foundation Phase is witness- ing the remarkable growth and development of our learners throughout the academ- ic year. Learners enter the school environment with varying levels of confidenc e, in- dependence, and readiness to learn. It is particularly encouraging to observe how even the shyest and most reserved learners gradually gain confidence, develop their communication skills, establish friendships, and become more comfortable partici- pating in classroom activities. These achievements, whether big or small, serve as a

reminder of the importance of patience, encouragement, and dedicated teaching during the early years of education. We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all our parents and guardians for their continued support, involvement, and co-operation throughout the year. The partnership between the school and families plays a vital role in promoting learners’ academic progress, emotional well-being, and overall development. We recognise and value the contribution each parent makes towards ensuring a positive and pro- ductive educational experience for their child. As we reflect on the year, we acknowledge the dedication and commitment of our educators, whose efforts continue to shape young minds and lay the groundwork for future success. We are proud of the progress made by our learners and remain committed to nurturing their potential in the years ahead. We wish all our learners, parents, educators, and the wider school community a blessed and peaceful festive season, filled with joy, rest, and cherished moments with loved ones. May the 2027 bring renewed hope, good health, happiness, and prosperity to all. We look forward to another successful year of teaching, learning, and growth. Me. L. Barnes & Me.L. Slabbert 11.2 SUPPORT TEACHING Support teaching encountered enormous challenges this year. However learners who needed support were supported. The SNE and support educators joined a cluster of support educators and it really helped to overcome most of our challenges. The Inclusive Department of Education also assisted us with excellent guidance. Parents were highly involved. We can only applaud and thank these parents. Some learners were placed and are still being placed in relevant schools and classes. Their self-confidence improves when placed correctly. Thank you to all our community stakeholders for all their help. May 2027 be a blessed year. Me. N. Van Wyk 11.3 SPECIAL EDUCATION The year 2026 was yet another successful year for SNE class.
